iPhone 19 drops in 37 months

    • 15 to 19?

      • +10

It's going to be the best iphone ever.

        • +3

I'm waiting for iPhone XXXVII, I reckon that one will be worth the $1.2m

        • It will be revolutionary

        • It's, without a doubt, the fastest iPhone they'll have ever made!

  • +14

Still seems so expensive to me lol.

    • +9

Me too tbh, but it's the cheapest I've seen so far (to be fair not by much), but I know some people buy only iPhones, so I thought I'd post it for them.

      • I'm trying to convert my Mrs to Android and it's been a struggle so I might have to wait for iPhone 16 and get her one. :'(

        • Isn't iPhone 16 supposed to be coming out soon (September?) hopefully the 15 models will get a better discount when they do, and you may be able to talk your Mrs to get the 15 model.

Then, next year, trade it in (or sell it) and upgrade to iPhone 17 for an extra couple of hundred dollars or so (they seem to really hold their value, and I think a lot of people are doing that).

            @BooYa:

That rarely every happens though, all they’ll do is flood the market with refurbished iPhone 15’s at a slightly lower price.

            • +1

@Gervais fanboy: Is it? I thought after release of new iPhone the next version down becomes somewhat discounted, no? eg the iPhone 15 Pro becomes cheaper in September/October

              • @MerlinKlendatu: Fair enough but just going by current trends - it’s now near impossible to find a brand new 14 pro/pro max from the top websites but there are plenty of refurbished 14 pro/pro max’s on the internet. Just have a look.

Also, iPhone 14 is currently retailing at @$1300 vs iPhone 15 @$1500, so not that much cheaper

A happy spouse is more important than a few hundred dollars

          • +1

@soan papdi: That is true but she's an iPhone noob so it's annoying spending that much money on a phone that she doesn't know how to use lol.

            • @itsmoe: Do you think she might find Android a lot more complicated?

I mean I use Android, that's all I've ever used, but sometimes it drives me so crazy that I think about switching to the iPhone (which I read is a lot more 'user friendly').

The only reason I don't is because I have several phone numbers and tfour (five?) Android phones I have to manage (it's a long story) so adding an iPhone to the mix would probably make things more complicated than easier.

But, for people with one phone, isn't the iPhone supposed to be more user friendly?

              • +5

@BooYa: Made the switch to iPhone recently after using Android for about 10 years. iPhone is just so much hassle free IMO. Sure there's a lot more customisation with Android but honestly it starts to feel more of a hassle. Not to mention apps for almost everything I use work better and are more stable on iOS.

              • -2

@BooYa: Nah it's all bull, people are just too lazy to try something different. It's just because they have gotten used to the UI.

Ive used iPhone for a few weeks and it's so much harder to use in comparison to Android.

She's been using iPhone 11 since launch and she doesn't know that she can change the apps in the dock, has the Apple music app even though she's never used it lol

                • @itsmoe: Then I suspect that she may prefer the iPhone because some people consider it more 'trendy' or 'fashionable'.

                  • @BooYa: Yeh that's possible. I'll wait for the 16 and see if there are any deals.

              • +2

@BooYa: Android is just a hassle to use. iPhone works 99% out of the time problem free out of the box, and if you do have a problem, just restart the phone and you're good to go. With Android even the differentiating features of Android flagships (like Samsung's S pen features etc) will stop working after a while and the Samsung store just says "do a hard reset", which is just a hassle. iOS provides the most reliable smartphone experience and people value this highly over gimmicks that stop working after a while.

                • +1

@nomadspartan: For me, perhaps as much as anything, is the perception iPhones have (justified or not) for better privacy than Android phones.

Note that I didn't say, nor do I expect, total privacy (that ship has sailed and it's no longer realistic to expect total privacy, anywhere) but iPhones have the reputation (justified or not) of being more privacy focused, so I'd like to try it out for myself (if it's true, then it'd be worth a substantial $$$ premium over Android to me).

I have had mostly androids and I don't miss them at all when I moved to iOS.

      • but I know some people buy only iPhones

        Guilty as charged :(

    • +1

Indeed. I still think it's not worth it. When you can find deals on say Pixel 8 pro under $900. What's the point

Also Chinese phones are now on par on performance and cameras some even exceed Apple

The only thing Apple does well is software support and people already used to iOS

$1472 delivered via Mobileciti with code MCAUG5

$1449 delivered via Cellaphone eBay with code HOME120

    • I would have suggested that you make a post, but Mobileciti only have 5 left (and I didn't have time to check the code).

As for Cellaphone though, have never heard of them. They have a 100% 'rating' and sell a lot of these phones, but I'm concerned that they may be 'grey imports', especially because they're on eBay (and eBay takes a significant cut of the sale price, so I'm wondering where they get these phones so cheap).

I'm not trying to knock eBay or Cellphones, but personally, I wouldn't be comfortable buying an expensive phone on ebay, from a company I know nothing about.

      • +1

eBay listing says AU stock and people have bought previously from them when deals like iPhone 15 were posted in the initial days

        • If it's a familiar seller on the OzBargain forum then that's different, but I haven't heard of them before.

In any case I only use eBay to buy smaller stuff, I have had a bad experience with knock off stuff from eBay before.

I got my money back, but I had to spend a lot of time getting the evidence to prove that a certain Samsung SD card was a fake.

It wasn't that much money, it was the principle of it, I did it mainly to try to shut down this seller, so they couldn't rip off other people (but I understand that these dodgy sellers just create another account and keep going, so you can't win).

Not saying that Cellaphone is a dodgy seller btw, I'm speaking generally, and about my personal experience.

Anyway, I stay away from eBay for larger purchases, but that's just me.

FYI, just got a Black 128GB one from Officeworks with 5% price beat down to 1479 AUD.

    • They actually price beat Amazon?

      • Yes at least in West Ryde NSW today, no single word.

    Telstra App $1499 128gb, $1699 256gb.
Can purchase in Telstra Store, have to show the app price though.

    • My app price for the 128 GB Pro is $1649 (which includes a $200 saving applied).

      Maybe it's targeted?

    • That appears to be the pricing for the iPhone 15 Plus, not the iPhone 15 Pro
