Got a letter, a very heavy fine and demerit points for not wearing a seatbelt.

I had no idea this camera existed, and now I am terrified there are more letters coming. It was at night too, when it is dark.

So be wary, there are hidden cameras.

    Guys i drove backwards on the wrong side of the road the other day. Now im terrified about getting a fine in the mail!

    What is it with night time and all these people coming out thinking road rules just no longer apply? I see so many that just skip red lights because 'no one' is around, then the other idiot thinks 'no one' is around and speeds around that corner because it's green and 'no one' would be around; both would've been deleted from this world but saved by 30 second difference.

    My father in law sit in the back and sometimes forgets to put on his seat belt. I hope I don't get fined.

      You'll both get fined. Him for not wearing it and you as the driver for not checking or allowing him not to wear it.

    If you are not terrified by injury or death in a car crash for not wearing a seatbelt you shouldn't be worried about a few fine letters coming your way.

    Working as intended by the sounds of it so far. Injury or not, its your responsibility to wear a seatbelt for the safety of you and others around you. I pity the poor first responders who have to deal with the consequences of not wearing a seatbelt.

    That fine is money that you can earn later than you being irreversibly injured without seat belt. Reading your post, highly likely that you'll be wearing the seatbelt more often than before and thus ROI for you and your family is invaluable. Some of us need such harsh measures to protect our own life. Pay it, learn from it and move on (of course wearing your seat belt).

    Just get in a habit. Takes like 2 seconds. Whilst I'm warming up my car for 30 seconds I use that time to put on my seatbelt and check for my phone and car keys. It's an instinctual habit. Not hard.

    Luckily in NSW, the fine is only $344. In QLD, the exact same offence is a $1,209 fine.
