Found this deal while google-ing about the TCL C845.

It seems like quite a low price for this TV, and I've heard a lot of good things about it.

First post, please be kind :)

I paid $1120 for the 55 C845 the week it launched. Price seems a tad high for an older model.

a quick history search on this TCL C845 65" and I can't find a cheaper price ever posted….

      • Mine was the 55. Look at my post history.

@Ademos: There hasn't been a surge in TV prices, if anything, they've gone down. Oled at bargain prices. But hey - you do you.

        • +1

Yeah but he's saying the 65" for $1199 is the cheapest it's ever been, despite being a year old

TCL 65C845 was selling for $1300-$1400 when on sale…TCL 55C845 has been just under $1K.

Getting the TCL 65 for $1199 now would be equivalent to like getting a new TCL 55C845 for $900…

  • Would any retailer price beat this?

    • +2

I don't think there's much stock of these floating around now

  • Paid $1600 4 months or so ago.

Great tv for the price. Sound is good too - don't have a soundbar.

  • Is the Samsung s90c better?

Can anyone with experience on both please confirm? Thank you

    • +1

never used either of them, but read a lot of reviews. S90c is a much better choice regarding almost every aspect. The only concern is the durability of oled tv.

      • The only concern is the durability of oled tv.

Which isn't much of a concern at all

        • +1

          Burn-in display is enough concern.
There are features in place to MINIMIZE the risk but it is there.
It is funny how OLED owners refuse to believe that their TVs have a hardware defect from the factory, it is not about of it but when that will happen.

It is the single reason why I got a QLED and can play my XBox on it for 5-8h non-stop and my TV is still like new 5y later.

@bargainhunter777 when you see OLED owners saying that OLEDs are perfect, laugh!
The year is 2024 and you will still cross OLED owners with defective TV due to burn-in display

    • Not sure if serious? It’s vastly superior to this model.
The S90C was rated best TV by RTINGS: https://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/best/tvs-on-the-market

  • I've had this TV for around a year. Previously software was a bit buggy, but recent update has made it more reliable. For example, it couldnt output dolby atmos via eARC but that now appears resolved. Still sometimes get an issue where it black screens on startup where it should show the profile selector, but pushing back then reselecting the profile selector usually works. I imagine you can avoid this by only having one google profile on the TV as most people would do.

Overall great TV for the budget, especially when calibrated correctly.

      Any calibration tips ?

      • +1

IT was a while ago, their was a good post on reddit. Do note that the TV has multiple modes (standard, HDR10, Dolby Vision, maybe more i'm forgetting) depending on the source input. The settings you change only affect the current 'mode', so you'll have to adjust it once while watching each type of content.

First time i did it i adjusted it just watching regular SDR content, and then wondered why HDR still looked the same - didnt realise I had to calibrate it again. Once its done across all modes it sticks and mostly doesn't need any touching (except gamma, which you might want to adjust depending on how much light is hitting your screen at different times of the day).

      • AVForums has a calibration video on their YouTube channel, I followed that guide and I'm very happy with the results.

  • Waiting on the 755/855 to drop in price. The 755 is much better re: bloom abd has better black levels. The 845 is substantially brighter. I think hownwell the 845 does depends on whether thmmit is the X1 or X2 revision. 855 will blow both out of the water but pretty expensive at the moment.

    • From what I read, there's not much difference between x1 and x2, not many official comparisons out there so happy to be shown otherwise.

The main thing is it has the new processor and newer Google version, but even with the c855 that has the new processor and better technologies, the processing capabilities were not noted to be a major step up by rtings

  • I'll wait for the 75C855 to get down to this price thanks.

If you don't want to invite the CCP into your living room get a Sony or Samsung instead.
