Hi, looking for suggestions for a cheap esim primarily for receiving/making calls and texts (don’t need data). I’ve never used an esim before but I’m about to start looking at purchasing property and would like to have a second phone number to give to agents during the next few months that I can just deactivate once I’ve brought a place. I’d rather not carry around two phones with me so adding an esim to my existing device seems the most sensible!
Cheap eSIM for Calls/Texts Only

Could you explain the Vodafone thing a bit more? What's the difference between buying a discounted SIM, and then 'activate on long-expiry plan', vs just buying on a long-expiry plan? Or are you saying you can make it long expiry for just the starter sim price (i.e. $30-$40), then convert to eSim at no extra cost? If so, ummm… how? :)
I realise this is >2 months after you answered, but hoping you might still respond :)
You buy a discounted starter pack, was say $10 for $30 pack, and activate on long expiry. May have changed.
Amaysim are pretty good. $10 per year for their as you go plan.
May not be great if planning to make a lot of long calls.May not be great if planning to make a lot of long calls.
Then move to the $60 per year plan… unlimited calls/text (no data)
But if handing it out to Real Estate agents, it may be an advantage to be able to run out of credit.
Thanks! Think I’ll try this one out to start with!
Did you end up going with this? I couldn't find a $10 per year plan on amaysim's site… wondering if it's changed massively, or I'm looking in the wrong place…

Looking at this myself for things like paid surveys saw this deal:

Would get $25 in credits with the pay as you go apparently (see comments)
How many minutes/month?
cheapest? Get a discounted Vodafone "$30" or $40 starter SIM, activate on long-expiry plan, and convert to eSim.
