  • What’s the cheapest hotel? Somewhere in India or Indonesia? Assume you have to actually stay or the points won’t be credited

Found a hotel in Bali for $2 per night

      • Wow, Australia do better, $23 for a cocktail

        • you may find sleeping in the cocktail better than the $2 a night hotel.

      What’s the cheapest hotel?

I've seen some hostels in South East Asia for under $5/night.

Assume you have to actually stay or the points won’t be credited

      That's my understanding.

      • So you have to stay to get the points? Dang it you have to stay.

        • Just send out a mass unsolicited email offering "FREE hotel stay in Bali"

      • +4

I've literally just put in the booking " Please process my stay even if I don't check in." and made it for tomorrow. $4 total

        Will advise back later.

        • What's the name of the hotel?

          • @jm888: some sort of Bali slum-hotel just search from lowest to highest. they vary based on the date

        • It won't work, they need to mark you checked in/out and with an ID

          • @da1andonly: The hotel has nothing to do with Qantas. No one is marking anyone checked in or out.

A consolidator sends them an email stating so and so has booked, here is the duration of stay, and if they elect to be paid via a CC they send a virtual credit card number that can be billed for the amount do. It's called "channel collect".

If you no-show they just bill the same card for the full amount.

    • Hotel in Bali, $5. Flight to Bali, $600.

Can you use PCP discount voucher and still get the points?

Can I cancel a booking already made, then rebook it?

    • I have done this before.

    • depends on the cancellation policy for the booking. If non refundable, then don't, if fully refundable or you haven't paid yet and it can be cancelled without penalty, then yes

  • Can we book a hotel and not stay?

    • Points will be credited within 6 weeks of hotel check-out.

    • You have more dollars than sense.

  • Arrival instructions

Guest must provide one form of photo identification (drivers license, passport, age card, company ID, etc) for proof to match the genuity of guest(s) identification in relation to booking; and that the management will retain a copy of such ID. Failure to produce these items means cancellation of booking.

    Might email them about ozbargin.

These bookings are fulfilled via a variety of consolidators and Qantas really has nothing to do with it.

As long as the time of the booking passes it should be okay. Cross your fingers.

  • Beware that Qantas and Expedia will kick you around if you are trying to get a tax invoice.

    • +1

You shouldn't really need a "tax invoice" as GST is not payable on overseas accomodation. A standard receipt print-out will be fine for ATO purposes.

  • Bali.. here I come
