If I hadn't splurged during the EOFY sales and bought myself a different Jet Star I would be tempted by today's sale. My pick would be the 70s-inspired 97B214 in the thumbnail. Having said that I really, really like the one I've got. The seconds hand is buttery smooth in motion and it's accurate to +/- 5 seconds per month.

Beautiful watch. Got the limited edition one last week and very happy with it.

  • Speaking about Bulova - is anyone waiting keenly for the refresh of the Super Sevilles?

(For some reason the bulova website keeps re-directing to the 'au' one which does not list anything about the Super Sevilles.

@StarBuy yooo hit us up when these get released! Im keen for a gold one.

If you're into integrated bracelets like the Tsuyosa or PRX then this would hit the mark. I like the design, I just find that the integrated bracelets I've tried on don't sit well on my wrist. I'm liking the design of the watch head with this one, though.

  • Silly question but would the gold scratch off?

    • Not a silly question at all. The listing doesn't specifically say, nor does the Bulova web site, but a lot of colour coatings on watches these days are PVD which is quite durable. It should hold up well under normal wearing conditions where the most abrasive thing it encounters is a cotton shirt sleeve. If, however, you were to scrape up against a concrete wall then you'll likely see it go deep enough for the stainless steel underneath show through. Or, if you have it brushing on heavy outerwear or pants then it might suffer from 'brassing' where the coating slowly rubs off and has shiny spots. The bottom line is if it's going to be a daily driver then you'll eventually see the coating wearing off, if you only have it on for special occasions or it's part of a larger rotation then it should last for a long time (if not forever).
