How to Ask for Free Gifts with Tesla Certified Preowned

I bought a Tesla Certified Preowned Car not delivered yet.

Just wondering if it’s possible to ask for something like a free charger? Or I’m probably asking too much… like the sales have already rejected me. I then asked if I can have some discount on the Tesla mobile charger, but also got rejected.

You can ask for a free slap to the face, i am sure they will oblige.

    • +10

They’ll throw in free, rapid depreciation too

    • Elon will oblige personally..

    Third time's the charm!

Generally you should ask for extras to be included before you give them your money

Ask for a free preowned lip balm.

    • +3

They’ll hide it in the centre console and have the apprentice techie give it a few test applications for final QA- wouldn’t want it to be faulty in case one day have super chapped lips and need some balm

  • +14

You ask for discounts and extras BEFORE signing up.

  • +14

No more asking, the sales people made their commission, they couldn’t care less about you.

    • +2

Tesla sales dont work on commission. They couldnt care less if you bought the car or not.

      • +1

Which makes them nice to work with.

They don't feel slimey or pushy like most used care sales men.

Maybe just ask him for a gift of a second car you’ll be needing it

  • +1

Maybe a discount on a genuine Tesla USB charger cable for your mobile.

  • +4

Ah yes, the old post sale negotiation, nothing quite like it.

  • +4

Not as easy as getting a free tank of fuel , never mind .

    • +1

A free jerry can of fuel for the generator?

  • +1

like the sales have already rejected me

Move up a level and email Elon.

  • +1

    Oh… I know… Threaten them with a bad Google review…

    • +3

On the upside , as long as they got more than 10 staff they can’t sue for defamation

You can ask, worse they'll do is say no…. Oh wait they have.

How to Ask for Free Gifts with Tesla Certified Preowned

New car owners don't even get 'gifts', so not sure why you think buying a 2nd hand one you would.

    • +11

When I bought my Civic I put the big bow decoration into the boot and they later rang and asked me to return it

      • +4

shoulda held it hostage - what are they going to do, send debt collectors?

      • +1

Sorry, should have been a bit more clear, NEW TESLA OWNERS don't get gifts, so don't know why the OP would think 2nd hand buyers would get a free wall charger ($800) or UMC ($550), when new owners don't get them.

Some other companies give you things for new cars if you ask, but what you're saying is, you got nothing in the end as well? :/

Nice try to sneak the bow into the boot and drive away! I like it!

      • +1

When I buy a new/used car, I always tell them that if I walk in and there is a bow or a "reveal" blanket on the car, I'm not going anywhere near it.

And when they ask for a "new owner photo" for their wall, I always decline and say "No (fropanity) way am I going up on your 'wall of dorks' Fartbook page…"

        • +1

So that wasn't you buying the Craptiva on Carrington car company fakebook?

  • +4

complain on news.com.au that they wont give freebies what a terrible company making millions

then after u get something, write an article on news.com.au that they must be going broke as ev cars are going down hill cause they need to give freebies

  • +1

The entire appeal of Tesla's sales model is that its not negotiable in almost all cases. I love that and I hate negotiating with dealers over the price and extras. I know many other people prefer negotiating and getting a good deal that way so maybe you should've gone that route since you're buying used. I hope more brands adopt a direct sales negotiation-free model.

  • Just ask

  • This is a job for Current Affair….. or Dennis Denuto

  • I bought

    Too late.

You do realise you negotiate these things before you buy said product? not after?

  • +1

Wouldn't the time to negotiate inclusions be at the negotiation stage.

I just wish companies can freely and publicly tell customers of this calibre to F&#k off. I would support such companies.

  • Get them to put some extra air in the tyres.

    • Optional extra…

      • +1

        only for AWD

  • +3

Maybe ask them for a free tank of petrol?

  • Okay to be clear, I only paid the $400 ordering fee.

    • because its all ordered online, you dont even interact with anyone.
Who you asking for the freebies?

      • +1

        ozbargain

      • There were sales contacting me asking for final payments via text message and calls. Honestly I’m just hoping for some discounts on the charger, or a used one from the previous owner when they did the tradin. Since I bought a used 2021 model 3, which had the mobile charger came for free.

        • Too late. Negotiating is part of the pre-sales portion of the purchase.

If you got a case for your phone for free, and then trade it in. Do you think the next owner is obligated to get the case you got for free?

Unless Tesla says it is meant to come with one when you bought the car, you're out of luck.

  • Get used to how terrible their service for anything is

  • just start a youtube channel, Start praising about Telsa, Say Elon is god, Say tesla haters are nazis, either of one will get the views. and finally start asking viewers to donate for accessories to do more videos , win win.
its never late to become influencer.

Free oil change and headlight fluid

  • Free shipping container

  • Computer says no

  • I remember asking a salesperson about the cost for some add-ons after signing a contract for a new car. They said RRP…my fault for thinking about it afterwards…

  • Full tank of petrol?
