Hehe… this is ozbargain and this is nowhere near ATL

Hopefully they will list on eBay @Calmago usually posts for some discount codes. Has been as low as $155 using coupons.

    • +3

Sorry, this stock won't be on eBay - The best option is to use the sign-up $10 off bonus.

I have one. Terrible for text. Unreadable without making it a 1080p monitor. Quite decent for photo/video. Also a big no for gaming.

Also monitor waking up takes so long you question if something is wrong with you computer. It glitches and gives a very artifacty screen too.

Still not for $175. Eh for $200

    • +7

For that size it'd be normal to set the view adjustment to 125 or 150%.

In regards to the waking up, I couldn't say whether that's an isolated problem with the monitor or perhaps it could be connected to a quick wake-up feature via the CPU or PSU.

      • +1

        MASSIVE TYPO THERE….

I mean okay for $175 and meh for $200.

To be clear I’d get this as a second monitor and use it with 150% scaling, for photos and video. And I do. I have a “main” LG 4K IPS screen which is really good at pretty much anything and this is a secondary to have YouTube or whatever open. But yeah reading text feels terrible once you have a good reference like a MacBook screen and LG one in front of me.

Bit apologies if I misdirected anyone.

@mods, please feel free to edit my original comment accordingly…

      • I can log into windows before the screen fully turns on. IDK where they get the idea of it being bad for text, running at 150% scaling is perfect for me. They might not have set it to 4k.

    • +3

Thanks for saving my $200. Came back to read comments just before paying.

      • +4

been using mine as a second monitor since the last deal, zero issues. just ordered another.

    • +6

Gave me such headache I only managed to use it for 3 days (non-consecutive even).

The unit I received from Australian Computer Traders has a scratch on the screen itself, and I could not leave any comment on their website; this is why we only see a 5-star review!

One of the worst Ozbargain hypes.

    • +6

You should scale it up if your eyes can't handle 4k at 27. Some people go for 125 or 150. Keeps the 4k resolution but makes the text and icons larger for those with poor vision.

    • +13

I code on mine everyday. No issues at all.

      • +6

Me too. This is my WFH monitor.

        • Ditto, my main work monitor, got a "refurb" one and it seemed new to me.

          • @Horacio: Exactly! I got a refurb one too. For me with my setting, I prefer it over the 30 inch 4k Dell monitor I have at the office which probably costs over 500 - I prefer the contrast and the size of this one. The only thing I hate is the touch controls.

I'm using the "office" preset in it. And increased the HDMI and DP compatibility versions.
I don't know if we can code in it, why others can't read text on this.

    • +4

      Terrible for text. Unreadable

Oh noes, I can't read what I am typing right now.

    • +7

I'm running one of these at 4k 100% scale and am very happy with it. No issues with wake or glitches

    • +3

I run mine at 4k res at 100% scale with no issues with legibility. Only use it for office work though.

It does takes ages to wake.

    • +4

You must have it set wrong. Are you getting 4K60? I had to enable DP1.2 on mine,
and play around with the font settings. It looks a little different to IPS, but better contrast, so great for text.

    • -1

The 4k 32 inch IPS Lenovo has I think been under 500, easily much better deal

      • Downvoters are fools. VA panel vs IPS is night and day

  • +1

God still got 2 in boxes from last deal.

    • +5

You should at least test them. I bought 2 last time and 1 was DOA so they refunded me

  • +12

After using this for wfh, everytime i go to office i feel like want to punch the office fhd monitor.

  • -6

I m using this one now, when I run this monitor with my laptop with 4k, the fresh rate is only 30hz, you can still use it, but i would strongly recommend to go something a bit better for your eyes

    • +7

The refresh rate is 60Hz. Your cable is limiting you.

    • +7

Well its your laptop fault not the monitor. Check your laptop hdmi version. Or change the cable.

    • +7

I found that the monitor that I bought from the last deal was set to HDMI 1.4 and DisplayPort 1.1 in the monitor settings. I had bought higher quality cables only to find the same thing in that my Raspberry Pi 4 would only display 4K 30Hz. Once I poked around in the menu and found the lower settings and then upped both to HDMI 2.0 and DisplayPort 1.2, it worked perfectly at 4K 60Hz. Phillips should be shot for implementing their touch controls though as it makes navigating the menu a nightmare. :)

      • This re: touch controls x10000

But otherwise really happy with mine too, especially at the price.

  • I love mine! The only issue that I experienced was the the DisplayPort version was set at the lower value, and would only run at 30Hz.

    • +2

You have to go to the monitor setting and change to DP2
Default is DP1 which only supports 30Hz

  • I got mine last year and it's great. Big screen and very sharp. Great for work. Speakers are ok. So far so good.

    • Yeah I was actually impressed with the speakers they surprised me and was better than my bigger 40 inch 4k monitor.. I think it is newer though. But yeah the speakers are quiet nice actually for a simple setup.

Wish I could compare it to a more expensive higher picture quality monitor but to me they look fine.

I just need a larger screen at this point but no space for another 40 inch so this will have to do until I upgrade my setup somehow maybe an arm mount but Idk.. Right now I'm literally just using my desktop pc case as the stand haha lol it just fits.

Ordered one last time, arrived with broken screen. Had to call them, trek down to auspost and mail back. 6 weeks later got refund.

    Pass.

    • oof yeah thats rough

  • +4

    Thanks for the post.
Ended up getting it for $185 with the code WELCOME10

    • +2

      Plus $7.21 Cashback from CR

  • +4

the stories in the last sale at $174 scares me

too many detached bezels and scratched screens and all kinds of nonsense

  • +2

This has been brand new for just $6.52 more. Will it ever be back

    • No chance

    • Only few of the brand new ones were actually brand new. Most of the ones even had name labels on them.

      • I think mine was new. Inside plastic wrap and not a single sign of being setup or used. Except the box wasnt perfect.
        But i paid $220ish :(

  • +2

I bought 2 of these last time. 1 was DOA but they promptly refunded my money once I demonstrated the problem (WA so return/repair was not feasible). The other one has been great (typing on it right now).

  • +2

Nothing but praise for mine, excluding of course the slow AF wake up time. It’s great how it slides up and down off the base and rotates easily. It’s painful using my comparatively tiny, FHD monitor at work now, and having to scroll through spreadsheets and docs.

  • I have one.

It basically, IF it connects, loses connection after 10 minutes or 30 minutes etc.

It is frustrating as F, and is seldomly used.

  • +1

Had it for over a year. Nothing but praise, except the slow start up. Don't blame the monitor when it's your eyes and you are too proud to use scaling, I use 150%.

  • +4

    Will add my 2c.
Overall been good to use, works as advertised without any defects.
    Drawbacks:
    - Slow to wake
    - Colours wash out badly when viewed off axis, not an issue when sitting at desk and looking directly at it

  • +3

Ordered two from the last deal.
Both arrived with the back cover and monitor not fully clipped together, as if someone opened them up and only did a half arsed job putting them back together.
Heaps of light bleeding on one monitor, and the touch on/off button doesn't work. Refurb my ass, more like random trash masquerading as Refurb.

Don't bother buying from these mobs.

  • +2

After 14 months mine suddenly developed a fault with a thick permanent white vertical line down the middle that won't go away no matter what I try. So it seems from other user reports that these things aren't built to last forever solid like tanks.

  • +4

Purchased last deal as "Grade A". Screen was DOA, scratches all over it, broken screen, back plate popped off. Sticker on back stated "Grade B". Got a refund but then wouldn't accept return via post, said I can look after disposing it. So poor.

  • +1

Got one of these last time and it died after 2 months

  • Don't bother for gaming.

    WFH heed the warnings above

    • It’s not a gaming monitor. I’m using this for work and graphics are coming up awesome!

My previous monitor was for gaming and this is heaps better.

  • Thanks OP. In true OZB spirit - I have been WANTING one….so ordered it…..will work out what to do with it once it rocks up

  • Can anyone recommend a monitor in the same price range that isn't plagued by so many issues? Will be used for work, no editing/gaming

    • +5

They're not plagued with issues. You're reading a noisy small percent. ACT have sold thousands of these.

      • This. I have bought three of these and all were fine, packed well and clean. A couple even came with HDMI and DP cables from memory.

I also often but their micro Dell's. Only one had some scratches near the USB c port (so done charging their phone at work is my guess) but all are running fine in frequent use.

Nothing but good dealing with them.

  • Oos

    • back in stock it seems?

  • Was about to purchase and it was out of stock. :(

    • back in stock it seems?

  • +2

Same story as some people above, got one in the last deal, huge light bleeding on the monitor made it unusable, I wouldn't waste your money.

  • Out of stock

    • back in stock it seems?

  • +1

very happy with mine, from last batch couple months ago - just need to adjust display settings on pc to 4k 60z and increase zoom to 125 or 150 and its beautiful!

  • Got 2 a few weeks back. Work a treat.

  • +1

I have two of these… both from OzBargain deals for refurbs (purchased separate times)

One on my main pc at home and other for work.

I don't know what other commenters are talking about above, but I LOVE this monitor! Great all-round 4K monitor for the price.
People are maybe comparing it to proper gaming monitors that sell for much more, but for under $200 delivered you won't get a better 4K 32" monitor.

  • Yep I find them excellent. Wake-up time a little slow. I actually have one in each of my kids rooms, works well as both a productivity monitor and as a TV (with a firestick in the HDMI port). Put on a swivel monitor arm and its a great solution.
