Liquor products are not available for Click & Collect or delivery via Coles Online in Tasmania, Queensland, the Northern Territory, Banned Drinker Register (BDR) regions in Western Australia, and Port Augusta and Whyalla in South Australia.
Which is such bullshit as Coles own First Choice, Liquorland, and Vintage sellers, and you can buy online from them.
Blame your State government and their archaic liquor laws.

Coles gets their liquor from liquorland. Coles also has terrible inventory management system. If you can find a bottle of alcohol that is oos at the liquorland, but is in stock on Coles online, you can add it to your cart, get the $75 off. When you go pickup your groceries, the alcohol will be oos but you still get the $75 discount, so free groceries.
Any tips in filtering the Liquorland website to find OOS items?
@jdizzles: My suggestion is to look at whats in stock on Coles first, start with the most expensive items and then just match it with Liquorland.
@jdizzles: My coles account was closed last round of discounts after doing this twice.
What's worse was my flybuys account (with a fair whack of credit ~$250 aud) in the same name + address and used in the transactions was also cancelled at the same time.
Your payment method is charged the full amount, takes about a week for them to refund you for the missing alcohol (depending on your payment provider, could be quicker - mine took about a week each time). The outgoing online payment goes to the local store and refunded from a corporate account in VIC.
After speaking with the team when my accounts were closed, they explained there is a process to reconcile refunds for missing items and someone makes a decision as to whether you have gamed the system and it's their discretion to either adjust the refund amount etc or alternatively ban you from continuing to do business. Professing innocence doesn't work either.
YMMV of course.
@MorriJ: theres nothing stopping you from just opening another coles account. but yes, i've had multiple accounts banned.
@abetastic: I can't do online orders any more in my real name and my payment method and my real address - I tried a 2nd account with a different email, get an error after logging in and selecting a store for c&c and it signs me out.
I can grab a new payment method and give fake address of course.
The flybuys account being canned was the kicker for me.

No need to use your real name for Coles online account I guess. When they check ID its only for the age and not the name
@MorriJ: appreciate you sharing this with us. besides it being an interesting anecdote about the possible repurcussions of gaming the system, you've likely saved many people/lurkers from a lot of pain by attempting the same feat unknowingly with their real accounts and risk losing their main longstanding flybuys + coles account.
Sounds complicated. I've seen people walk out of the supermarket with a trolley full of unpaid groceries, and nobody stops them. Why don't you just do that?
@bargaino: That is illegal. This is not. Coles and I willingly enter into a contract to exchange some goods. If the liquor happens to be in stock, I happily take it. If its not, I happily take my free groceries.
When they are genuinely on special + 20%, off you can get some bargains but you have to have a laugh at the shenanigans with the regular prices. Eg Glenfiddich 12, $75 regular price last week (and most times), $99 this week. Will be back to $75 regular in a month guaranteed then while later some other crazy price. Dalhwinnie 15 up to $150…you're drunk coles go home.
Agree, I was able to get a Dalwhinnie 15 for $74 a couple of months ago, after the $25 discount on $100 spend!

Since I have a deal, 3600 flybuys for $90 spend, that's $18 in flybuys points, and have $90 of spirits in my cart and that's before the code, effectively meaning I pay $72

Why not? I've always found Coles liquor purchases qualify for Flybuys points. Checked the T&C's for current offers and no exclusion for liquor is mentioned.
You need to spend $90 to qualify for the bonus points. So that's actual spend, after discounts.

Last time I missed out because some items were out of stock, and the total went below the $90 minimum.
This time, I'm spending $150 for the $15 online bonus, so should be safe.
I've had this happen a few times. Have always been able to contact customer support and they manually fix it so that the transaction still qualifies as long as the total before the removed out of stock items met the requirements.
I had a 10x Flybuys points offer at the time of purchase. Points have already been awarded so I can see how they've calculated.
The points were based on total before the CHEERS20 20% discount and before the Spend $150 Save $15 discount.
I also applied 10% discount for Coles Plus Saver. The points were calculated after that discount.
For example (not the actual numbers in my order):
Spend $200. Apply CHEERS20 20% discount and auto-applied the Spend $150 Save $15 discount.
$200 less $40 (being $200 x 20%) = $160
$160 less $15 = $145
$145 stated on the order email.
Flybuys points awarded based on $145.
10x points (1 standard and 9 bonus) is 145 standard points and 1305 bonus points
Plus additional 145 bonus points for Coles Plus Saver (applies for alcohol purchases at Coles).
After all of the above, now the 10% discount for Coles Plus Saver is applied.
$145 less $14.50 (being $145 x 10%) = $130.50
Final total charged was $130.50.

Usually if it's a day after there's no problems. The only reason why they have time slots for pick up is because there's limited storage space and they need to rotate orders as frequent as possible.
Will be by a few days - singed up for free coles membership.

I ordered two cartons of Coopers Ale and two bottles of Jameson Irish whiskey and I got the SMS message that my order was ready to collect. When it was brought out the whiskey was missing and it could not be found in the Click n Collect storeroom. It was in stock in the Liquorland next door but there were insufficent staff to sort it out.
I wasn't going to sign for the incomplete order so I left and got onto Customer Service via chat. They couldn't do anything without talking to the store (the chat person couldn't get through to the store) so I abandoned the process and went home. CS person said she can't refund an offer without speaking to the store I was advised to call the Customer Service number tomorrow to chase up my refund.
Might try my luck again on a fresh order. My last one from Coles was stuffed up too.

On Sailors rum, I get a "This item is only available for a Click&Collect Rapid slot" message, which is annoying since you have to pay for those slots. Works fine on other products.
