  • There was an issue with paypal try different method.
No different payment method available 🤷

  • Too bad not to -25 or close for the deep freezer. Would like one to make sure it keeps cool and warn if too hot.

      Ordered 2.

According to their website, " Not waterproof. Not recommended for use in refrigerator or freezer."

There are fridge and freezer sensors you can buy though. The Accu rite one comes highly recommended.

Yet, the page for the deal states "With its pocket-sized body, we can use it in refrigerators", Perhaps the fridge needs to be turned off?

        • Got one from MiHome that is rated for -20. It works ok in freezer and shows to -25. Drops out on occasion and out of range reading sometime. Mostly reads it fine. At least know if freezer broken. Had a door sensor on it at one stage because kids forgot to close lid. So warned if opened more then 3 minutes. (Deep freezer).

Good price. For that price point most similar products are Bluetooth only not wifi

  • Can you run it from rechargable AAAs, or does it need the higher voltage of single use batteries?

    • I run on rechargeable, no issues. These things are solid.

  • Rep, just bought a couple, but just want to point out that it is super weird to even suggest that I should give a tip for ordering something like this online.

Not sure if that is just left in from a template but just thought I would mention it because it feels a bit weird to see there on the checkout page.

    • A donation to charity field would be more appropriate if anything.

  • So if it's not waterproof, it's not suitable for outdoor use?
I wanted to buy two, one for outside my bedroom window and one inside to monitor temperatures. Is there an alternative that would be better than this?

    • Ubibot is a competitor with similar form factor
who supply an external probe for outdoor conditions, and also have a huge advantage of external power (including the probe). They also work with Google Home.

They're currently $89 on Amazon but occasionally go on sale (I bought one $67 in July 2023).

That may seem super pricey but the advantage of USB power (with the AAAs as a backup) can't be underestimated IMHO. These devices are very battery hungry if they take readings frequently (say, every five minutes rather than hourly). I don't want to be changing batteries every month/few weeks.
