anyone use one of these for 3d printers?

    • I was just thinking the same thing haha. Looks to have the correct dimensions. You could use the lower shelves for filament and spare parts.

      • ive just connected my desk to my wall with 2 a1s on it and i can hear it in the whole upstairs of the house. going to have to find something sturdy thats not connected to the walls haha.

        • Yeah I can imagine, if it's off of the walls that'll definitely help with the noise.

        • I did the exact same thing with my old CR-10, was driving me insane.
Ended up sticking the 3d printer on a concrete paver with rubber pads as standoffs underneith, it's not going to win any home decor contests but it worked pretty well.

    • That's the same reason I want one, and to organise the shed.
Looking at this one, I worry it might rock a little unless it's heavily loaded up.

      Does anyone have any recommendations?
The ToolPRO Heavy Duty Workstation for $199 looks stable.

if i get some time today ill go have a look. would save me a trip down if they had a product weight on the specs.

      • depth isnt great on that work bench i sadly wouldnt get my a1s on there. maybe some of tthe core xys would fit.

    • I have an ender 3 running inside an old comms cabinet on one of these benches. Works well.

    • Also looking, after something for a couple of Neptune 4 Plus printers though not sure this will be sturdy enough for a high speed bed slinger. Maybe could print some corner braces to give it more rigidity.

Checked the machine dimensions before buying and thought great that will fit nicely on my bench against the wall but silly me failed to account for the room needed for the bed to move back so the 500mm odd footprint becomes 650mm or so (meaning most of these benches that are cheap enough will have to be off the wall a bit).

    • I don't but I have a few of these. They take a fairly big static load (265kg or something) per shelf. I'd just be concerned about the wobbling. The 3D printers at work wobble a bit and they're on sturdy shelves.

  • These look the same as the others which you can get at for e.g. Bunnings, Total Tools, etc.

I picked up one of these today. I accidentally picked up a SCA branded one but realised at the register and got it changed to the Toolpro one (better quality, slightly). And got some injector cleaner per the other SCA bargain recently. :)
