  • Could be a step up from the brita jug I use in my apartment? Any reviews from ozbargainers?

    • -1

Its much better for microplastics. The jug is pretty useless if you live in Vic or NSW which have good tap water. The jug just filters the water and then puts it back into a plastic jug.

      • Not everywhere in Vic

I lived in an (70s vintage) apartment building in South Yarra (where you'd expect well maintained utilities) and the tap water tasted like toilet water

        • +4

Why did you drink toilet water in the first place to know what it taste like?

          • @illusion99: you ever lifted the lid and the bowl was clean but it smelled like a toilet?

            • @0jay: Smell and taste are different senses. Can you tell what a kfc zinger burger taste like just by the smell if you never tried it before?

              • +2

@illusion99: oh man, and i was happy with the joke

                snell & taste are interdependent

                • @0jay: Yes but not a replacement for one another. Again do you know exactly what something taste like if you never tasted it before purely by the smell? You might be sure it tastes bad just by the smell but no way you can tell exactly what it tastes like without putting it in your mouth. “Bad” is not a description of anything - that’s your opinion that you don’t like something.

Definitely a step up, but it's the refill cartridges that are the problem. I used a similar system 10 years ago because I was able to get a dozen cartriges for $50, but if you have to buy them new they are $20 a piece.

I finally said 'stuff this' and went to a full 5 stage RO unit. Glad I did because it only cost me around $150 and I can use the water in humidifiers and car radiators. Install was pretty simple too, there's ways to make it non-permanent if your renting

Dammit.. i paid like $102 for this 3 weeks ago :) .. anyways i had to order a 21 to 22mm twist on adapter for my kitchen tap.. also needed to use the black washer that was on the 21mm screw on end… Unit works great.. way better then the filter jugs.. 5 stage filtering, unit and filters are made in Japan.

    This is what i needed.
Faucet Metal Adaptor Inside Thread Water Saving Kitchen Tap Aerator Connector
    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/303977168420?var=603141885009

On the European advertisement its stating the 5 stage filters removed 80% of PFAS and PFOS
The Japanese filters are pretty dense and if your water pressure is low you may not get 600L out of it :)

    • Does not advertise pfas removal on website. Definitely not certified. They can claim whatever they wish.

  • Assuming you stock up now, seems like the refills are pretty pricey compared to the jug filters

    • Cheaper in liters VS buying the jug filters. Also Prime day sale had them for $24 each.

  • What’s the difference between the pro and advanced version (except ofc for the major pricing difference)?

    • The Pro V-MF "FILTER" is a 5 stage filter that sports microplastics 80% of PFAS & PFOS Chemicals and 99.99 Bacteria ( usually you need to boil water to remove Bacteria )

The standard BRITA On Tap V Water Filter thats cheaper doesnt do as well with the above or stop any Bacteria.. its the equivalent to the water jug filters.

How often need to change filter ?

    • 600L

      • Good luck with that!

    • Mine has a counter.. I've used around 30 liters in 3 weeks :)

      • You might be dehydrated bruh

  • Does it work with pull out kitchen taps?

    • +1

NOPE … only whats listed on the box https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B07W66F3V7

22mm - external facing screw on end
23-24mm internal facing screw on end
and 15-25 "multi took vice grip lock" <— - This i dont like

      • okay.. Thanks for confirming it.

      • cheers thanks for the info. not keen on screwing it onto my pull out tap.

  • +1

Sadly did not fit my tap.

  • I ordered it through Bunnings but got cancelled… Page not found now.

    • Page still there for me

      • Its so weird.. I can order again now but straightaway get a refund from the system..

        • Could be their fraud protection. If you used a credit card, try PayPal.

          • @eeeee: Turns out, I guess they don't want to ship it to me with Onepass. I am in regional WA so all ordered got cancelled immediately. I tried picking up from Bunbury and transaction went through. I tried using a friends address in Perth and it's been delivered.. Feels like the free delivery from Onepass can be a bit of a scam…

I had the on tap filter and the filter lasted a month and then fully blocked up despite my house having pretty high water pressure. Way too expensive to run. Possibly due to old pipes in my 40yr old home. Swapped to Philips on tap as they were clearing them out at Coles.

  • +1

I’ve been Using this for few years now, I’ve replaced few filters from eBay pretty solid and upgrade from prev version

  • -2

Surely you’re better off with an under sink/inline filter?

    • This is adverting in Europe that it removes microplastics, 80% of PFAS & PFOS Chemicals and 99.99 Bacteria

My brothers reverse osmosis system removes 99% of those but he spends $120 per year on filters and it cost $795 to install the unit
Also this one is better for Renters :) I'm going to get a reverse osmosis put in soon. but i use this for now and it works really well

      • -1

How is it better for renters? An undersink model is easily installed and removed when you leave, there’s nothing permanent about it. Cost can be only slightly more for a two filter model that doesn’t get in the way of the tap.

        • -1

They cut a hole for the filter tap.. no idea what your talking about.

    • +1

I've had two break and flood kitchen/cabinets, never again.

  • Is the dj link in the op just for the filter refill or for the whole unit itself + filter? The picture suggests the the whole unit but the wording could be for just a refill

I say that because officeworks has https://www.officeworks.com.au/shop/officeworks/p/brita-wate…
Which seems like it's just the refill but in the description:
"This pack includes 1x BRITA tap water filtration system ON TAP Pro V-MF, 1x ON TAP V-MF filter cartridge (600L), 5x different adapters for installation."

    So which is it?

  • +1

"Does not reduce limescale, but preserves valuable minerals such as magnesium and calcium "

    Lol, pass

  • Looks pretty cluncky and you don't drink every bit of water coming from the tap (rinsing dishes etc), and it's not chilled.

The 8l Brita containers go alright in the fridge, just wash the container and change the filters when you should. The water is fine for consumption in Australia anyway.

  • +1

Just popped into David Jones and they said the model is for the filter only, not for the on tap system

Should’ve just gotten it from Bunnings

    • -1

Just buy one at Bunnings and return with other receipt. Oldest trick in the book. Depends how much difference, what's your time worth..

Or just drink beer and don't worry about it.

      • -1

Bunnings already fixed their price so I have definitely missed out

        • Oh well, not worth worrying about anyway.

    • I missed out too, please let me know if you find a similar deal :)

      • I went with this from Amazon
        https://amzn.asia/d/0dr3d8s7

Reviews seem great compared to the Brita that we stock here in Aus

        • -1

Yeah but contains radioactive isotopes for filtration and sterilisation

          • @0 0 0: Count me clueless but how do you know it contains them?

            • -1

@BargainsGrabber: Made in Japan. After their reactors when into meltdown after the tsunami all their products are contaminated. Wouldn't like all my drinking water to be filtered by a Made in Japan filter

              • @0 0 0: Ahh gotcha. When I went into David Jones for this deal, the Brita model is also made in Japan too.

Would you be able to recommend one please?

  • Just got my delivery from David Jones and it's just a filter, not the actual unit that i needed. Just the small filter.
    You got me.

    • Lol just return it
(Or buy the pack as you'd need to buy a filter again anyway eventually)
