Extremely high. My red pen is warmed and ready for a scathing letter to the ACCC when these disappoint.

    • I dunno but I've heard of the brand… Even if they are meh, for this price not too bad.

But yeah if you are looking for great quality and excellent life span, I would say move along.

    Ladda = yes
    Landfill = no

Seriously stop buying single use batteries. I've run the same set of eneloops for about the last 10 years. Still going strong…

      • -1

Hasn't this thinking been debunked? You need to recharge your rechargeable batteries more than 50 times and then recycle them properly at the end of life to have any environmental benefits.

        • +1

By that logic you're saying that a single rechargeable battery has the same environmental impact as 50 disposable batteries? The math just isn't mathing. The single-use option means you've just disposed of 49 additional batteries that now need to be properly recycled.

          • -1

@schquid: I'm not saying anything, the research is, take your argument up with https://www.polimi.it/en who made the claim. The math isn't mathing when you don't include all of the variables and only consider those that you mentioned in your statement.

        • They can be recharged 500, up to 1500 times, depending on the brand / chemistry / capacity.

If I recharge my 1x Ladda battery, every fortnight, for 60 years, 26x60 = 1560 times.
That 1 battery will last my lifetime, and save 1560 other non-rechargeable batteries from landfill (and the environmental contamination).
Even if I get 10% of that benefit, I'm ahead 9and so is our environment.

          • @dangerdanger: Will you though, that's the whole point? People buy rechargeables with good intentions but may not actually recharge them enough for the benefits to come to fruition.
Rechargeables also contribute to environmental contamination.

            • -1

@SonOfATightASS: Even if I stop 10 disposable batteries per 1 rechargeable, it's all good.
But like EVs vs ICE, I'll do me and you do you.

              • -1

@dangerdanger: It ain't about me and you, don't make it personal.

                • @SonOfATightASS: I'm not making it personal, are you?
Don't take my comments personal, I'll keep on with my Ladda and eneloops. It's all good!

                  • @dangerdanger: Like a dog with a bone, aren't you? 🦴

                    • @SonOfATightASS: Hey, don't make it personal with your comments! THought you weren't making it personal?
Love Ladda and eneloops. Hope you will too! All good!

                        • @SonOfATightASS: ??? Braindead story bro thanks for sharing, sounds like a skill issue??

                          • @Deseret: Thanks for your insights. It wasn't a story btw. Tell me you don't have kids without telling me.

  • Good deal for very average batteries….

Though I need AAA batteries more…

Anyone know a good deal on AAA?

    • +1
      • Thanks!

I got an amazing deal, 24 for $4 two years ago for AAA, doubt I can find that again easily….

    • Amazon basics AAA were $22 for 100 via an OZB deal last year. They've performed well for me and most reviews rate them as good as the top tier brands.
I try and use rechargeables whenever possible but some devices I have like an expensive black diamond head torch perform better with the higher voltage and others like wall clocks just last longer with alkalines.

    Zionist business group alert.
Clearly not everyone cares (neg away) but for those who have a conscience and believe in equal human rights, I suggest alternative retailers like Bunnings.

      And this is relevant how?
      Seems to be sweeping generalisations.
I'm Chinese and that doesn't make me a communist or a member of the CCP just like Muslims wouldn't like to be generalised as radical terrorists. Same goes with Jews.

    • -1

Good to know thanks, too late I pulled the trigger, but hey I only spent $8. Not world changing. I don't support Zionists, though I have nothing against most Jews.

  • Perfect for my Sorny TV

  • Genuine Dorcy?
Been caught with fakes previously. Only want to buy the real deal

Don't understand how people are still buying single-use batteries in this day and age where devices are rechargeable and you typically don't have to worry about buying this separate part of your device anymore.

Have rechargeable LADDAs and barely use them. Would recommend not buying discrete batteries if you don't need them immediately, and even then only buying as many as you need (the excess will more likely than not be landfill).

Edit: accidentally downvoted, can't undo 🤷‍♂️

    • -1

Cool story! You don't understand because of a lack of comprehension and a narrow point of view, so I'll spell it out. In the use case for kids, an upfront investment in rechargeables and benefits to the environment will all be lost if the batteries go missing or even cease to be fit for purpose in both the short or long term, as a minimum of 50 charge cycles will likely not be met! What part of that rational don't you get? It really isn't that complex.

  • +1

I have children so they are perpetually going through batteries and losing them. The energizer and Duracell rechargeables I did buy for myself only lasted about five years before they started to fade or leak so that math didn’t math for me.
