Are you guys approved by Solar Quotes?

    • +10

Hi Adam, thanks for your inquiry.Yes, you can find us on Solar Quotes. Solar Quotes is a commercial lead generator and doesn't do approvals. The solar industry government ombudsman looks after solar system installation is SAA (Solar Accreditation Australia) and CEC (Clean Energy Council). Green IOT is approved by both SAA and CEC.

    • Absolutely the right thing to do is check Solarquotes first. easy to find if you google Solarquotes <companyname> .

I recommend doing that over asking the company itself over trusting any links or SS you are sent.

      • +2

What's good about solar quotes? It seems to be a private middleman / lead generator.
Or are you saying they also represent quality/accreditation?

    • +6

Being on Solar Quotes means jack all. I was given 3 referrals and two of the three were complete shit. By that I mean they were doing offers on what size system I can get before even visiting my house and asking for payment. I went local and while there is good general info on Solar Quotes they are simply a lead gen site and anyone looking for a solar company to go with still needs to do their own homework.

  • Is 8.2kw overloading 1phase power too much?

    • Thanks for your inquiry. Not really, both NSW metro DNSP Ausgrid and Endeavour Energy allow 10kw on a single phase. The only difference is Ausgrid allows 10kw on a single phase without an export limit and Endeavour Energy allows 10kw on a single phase with 5kw export limit.

      • i am in edveavour area and currently have 6.6kw and 5kw fronius inverter on single phase house. does it means i cant add another 10kw or 13kw system? the current 6.6kw system its roi was 2.5years when retailers paid 22c fit. was thinking to add a batt but it will cost at least $10k on 10kw batt which will take at least 8-10 years roi and by that time i need to replace the batt.

        • +2

Thanks for your inquiry. I would not recommend adding more panels as you have reached your limit for a single-phase house in the Endeavour Energy area.

There will be some new gov battery rebate kicks in from Nov onwards which is worth about $1k-1.5k.

        • what is your retailer fit now? if the fit has dropped to around 5 to 7c would your roi on the 6.6kw system be closer to 10 years? Assuming usage stays the same.

also would roi be better when you actually use the solar such as aircon etc for free, rather than relying mainly on fit for quicker roi?

          • @ATTS: i was lucky that during 22c fit my roi was within 2.5 yrs. with this current rate 12c max, it will take at least 6 years. during 22c era, i used to get credit approx $500/yr. only paid $30-50 during june and july. the rest of the year with credit. with current 12c fit, my current out of pocket for winter is $150/month and $60-80/month in autumn. i made all my split ac smart to turn on/off during the day. note that heating cost more energy than cooling based on the usage on each ac. i dont have ducted ac.

  • Hi Green IOT,

Do you install in Rural NSW in Temora/Springdale area? Thanks

    • Hi vb, thanks for your inquiry. Sorry, we don't cover Temora/Springdale area. The installation is always not an issue but we are not able to do after installation service due to the distance.

  • Hi, I currently have an accumulation meter with electronic display on Ausgrid. Can I install solar to my property without moving to an interval meter?

    • Hi abetastic , thanks for your inquiry.

Usually, your meter will need to be upgraded to an EDMI smart meter after the solar system is installed but it is mainly decided by your energy retailer.

  • Hi Adam

    A few questions:
    1. Is there a gov. rebate on top of the prices on offered?
    2. Also how much would a battery cost on these systems?
    3. I have a 3-phase system am I still able to get these offers?

    Thanks

    • +4

      Thanks for your inquiry.

      1. This package already includes all gov rebates in NSW for solar system.
      2. Depends on which battery you are going to install and the cost will be $8k-$15k. In 2024, ANY brand of battery systems can be installed on top of ANY brand of existing solar system. There will be some new goc battery rebate kicks in from Nov onwards which worth about $1k-1.5k.
      3. Yes you can as far as you still have sufficient roof space or you are happy to replace some of the existing panels.

      Thank you.

      • thanks for the quick reply Adam!

        • BTW Adam - any deals on smaller systems? like 6.8kw or something?

          • +2

@homersyd: Thanks for your inquiry. The value of smaller systems are not as good as 10kw or 13kw systems.
For example, a 6.6kw system is priced at $4k and a 8kw system at $5k.

            • @GREEN IOT: ic thanks, just not sure if 10kw is a waste if we cant generate that much anyway (with trees near roof etc)…
Also I've emailed you the details Adam

  • Hello,
1.Do you use subcontractors to install panels? What is warranty for the workmanship?
2.How much extra $ for consumption monitor or it comes as a bundle with inverter?
What is the lead time on installation?

    Thanks

    • Thanks for your inquiry.

      1. No we use in house team and that's why this deal is only for NSW. The panels warranty is 25 years, and the inverter warranty is 5+5 years. Our installation workmanship is 5+5 years.

      2. For the Fronius consumption monitor, supply and installation will cost $800 for 3 phase and $500 for a single-phase property.

      3. Our current lead time on installation is 3-4 weeks.

  • A. Price is after the government rebate?

    B. Obviously bulk of usage is at night time. So this essentially makes day time consumption $0?

    C. In future, when batteries are economical, we can add on battery to your system?

    D. Just curious on what is price of battery?

    E. What is regular price?

    • +1

      Thanks for your inquiry.
      A. Price is after the government rebate? - YES

      B. Obviously bulk of usage is at night time. So this essentially makes day time consumption $0? - YES a 10kw or 13kw solar system will zero out your daytime consumption for most of families.

      C. In future, when batteries are economical, we can add on battery to your system? - In 2024, ANY brand of battery systems can be installed on top of ANY brand of existing solar system. There will be some new goc battery rebate kicks in from Nov onwards which worth about $1k-1.5k.

      D. Just curious on what is price of battery? - Depends on which battery you are going to install and the cost will be $8k-$15k.

      E. What is regular price? - 6 months ago, this solar system cost about 50% more than this deal.

      • "In 2024, ANY brand of battery systems can be installed on top of ANY brand of existing solar system."

is this also true for 3-phase systems? can you please explain some of the technicalities and options for 3-phase? are you able to battery backup each phase?

      • E. was it because cost of product to be installed has became alot cheaper generally? if so can we expect costs of solar panels and batteries to reduce by further 50% in coming years?

  • What would similar pricing be like in QLD?

    • Thanks for your inquiry. The price will be different in QLD. Please feel free to send us an email with your details and we can customize a quote at our best price.

  • Hi Adam, I have an existing LG 7.3 kw system with Solar Edge Inverter, I paid $10k around 3 years ago. Is it worthwhile looking to add more panels or you would recommend looking at battery. I have the space to add more.

    • Thanks for your inquiry.
The solar system only works during the daytime. Unless you use a lot of electricity during the day, a battery will be more efficient.
You might also consider more panels when adding a battery.

      • Thanks mate. Hoping to get some rebate on the battery.

  • Great deal! Would love to see some WA installers stepping up and posting something similar…

  • Jeez, cracking value

Don't suppose you install way out in the New England region?

    • Thanks for your inquiry. Sorry, we don't cover New England region.
The installation is always not an issue but we are not able to do after installation service due to the distance.

  • Hi,

I'm interested. Just checking this is available in the Newcastle area?

  • Hi OP, interested in this deal. Are any extra hardware required if I wish to connect the system up to smart home integration e.g. Home Assistant?

    • Thanks for your inquiry.

I dont think Fronius works with smart home integration e.g. Home Assistant.

You can use Emerald Home Electricity Advisor or powerpal or Catch Power to allow surplus solar energy to powerup your aircon or hot water system.

      Emerald Home Electricity Advisor
      powerpal https://www.powerpal.net/

  • What about 6.6kw system? Not everyone has bigger roof.

    • Thanks for your inquiry.
The value of smaller systems are not as good as 10kw or 13kw systems.
For example, a 6.6kw system is priced at $4k and a 8kw system at $5k.

  • Hi,

How many square meters of roof space do you need to fit this system please?

    • Thanks for your inquiry.

Each panel takes about 2 square meters.

10kw system includes 24 panels and takes about 48 square meters.
13kw system includes 32 panels and takes about 64 square meters.

  • I’m building my home should be ready by Feb. will the builder allow you guys to install. Or can I book the it with a deposit and then you guys install in Feb?

  • Wow, cracker of a deal. The Fronius has me frothing at the mouth.
Is this the sharp that you're using?
Do you offer any other panels for lower/higher costs?

    • Thanks for your inquiry.

The panel model is Sharp NU-JC415B, same as the panel in the link you mentioned.

We offer other panels for lower/higher costs, such as Longi, Jinko, Trina, REC.

For OZB, I would recommend Sharp panels as the best-valued panels that we have in stock at the moment.

  • How do you guys compete againts jinko n type 440 panels and 10kw sungrow inverter. I have a quote for 13.3 kw system for $5300?

    • Thanks for your inquiry.

The hardware we included in the package is more premium.

      Panels:
Sharp: premium panel from Japan enterprise.
      jinko n type 440 panels - good entry-level panel

      Inverter :
      Fronius: premium europe made
      Sungrow - good entry-level inverter.

  • Very impressive offer you have here. Wish I came across you guys earlier!

    • Thanks for your feedback.

We can offer this package price is due to both Fronius and Sharp are running a winter seasonal promo at the moment.

  • Hi, do you install yourself, or use contractors? Also, do you have a micro-inverter option?

    Thanks.

    • Thanks for your inquiry.

We only use in house team to do the installation work.

For a 10kw micro-inverter system, you are looking at around $10k for the whole system.

  • Is this available in the Shoalhaven area (Nowra/Bomaderry)? Thanks

    • Thanks for your inquiry.

Yes we service Shoalhaven area with $500 extra cost for travel.

    • Very good prices compared with quotes I had in that area late last year

  • If you currently have a solar system installed, can you install yours in parrallel ? I mean another system that will add to an existing system ? Or is it the case where it can only be one Solar System installed on a house ?

    • Thanks for your inquiry.

We can install a 2nd solar system in parallel with your existing solar system.

Both systems work independently and generate electricity for your house at the same time.

  • Can you do 10kw single phase instead of the three phase you have listed?

    • Thanks for your inquiry.

The 10kw single phase instead of the three-phase will be slightly higher than the three-phase system.

Could you please shoot us an email with your details and we will customize a quote.

      Thank you.

  • How much extra would it be to upgrade to a 15kw 3 phase inverter?

  • How long after emailing our details should we expect to hear back from you?
