    Not as good

I don't think this is good at all :(

    • 100%

    • Benefit is no fees if you hit $4000pm iirc. But even if you only hit the 3500, it's just $35 a month so can keep it for a few months and cancel once you get the points. In saying that, it's an insanely high spend so only worth if you're spending that amount already

        Don't forget the $60 non-refundable Qantas Points opt-in fee

        • Good call out. Forgot about that one. Personally I just got the 100k cba rewards points and redeemed for 6x$100 coles gc when they did their 20% off gc's. But I know everyone here loves their Qantas points so that's not for everyone.

  • careful if you already have their low rate that earning points. You're not able to get the bonus points eventhough you're on Yello. Cope it big time on this

    • Interesting. You sure on that one? The awards and low rate rewards used to be completely separate in terms of 1 year cool down and sign on bonus

  • How do you become Commbank Yello?

    Hahahahahahahahahaa

60k qantas point for $14k spend??

    hahahahahahaha

Be careful with Commbank credit cards, I signed up to one with bonus points over a 4 month spend, but they calculate the 4 months in their own 'statement cycle'. So when I received my rewards card there was apparently only 5 days left in that statement cycle, so even though I met the spend criteria each month in the first 4 actual months since receiving the card, I didn't get the bonus points as I didn't know I only had 5 days once receiving the card to meet the 'first months spend criteria'……

    • same thing happen to me, I was charged with CC interest, even though I have paid 5 days before its DUE! Their excuse was, the one I paid was for last months interest not this month.. still dont make any sense because with that logic I wouldnt even have this month interest if I already paid last month.. so yeah weird

    • Just curious, did you delay the activation (or any delay on the post mail) since they send they card? Perhaps they started the first day since they deliver the card which is idiotic

      • Nope I didn’t delay anything. Activated the day I received etc

Hey I called them about this to clarify. They use a fixed 30 day period which starts from the day the credit card account is opened (so basically if you’re waiting for a physical card it may be too late - use Apple wallet). So it’s $3.5k every 30 days for 120 days to receive the full 60k points. Plus they said you need to be CommBank Yello when you apply for the card otherwise you won’t get the offer.

    • Agree, neither me nor the Mrs got anything a couple of years back when the offer on this card was better, but I kept it and she canx, making her eligible for the recent Smart Awards SUB - they sent her an email specifying the exact dates by which each monthly spend had to be made by, which didn't align with the statement dates, but was at least clear. So keep an eye out for that in junk too.

  • $14k!….

You can churn 4 cards spending for that!

  • This is awful, ANZ and Qantas offer cards that are a lot more worth it.
Also Westpac and StG if you're an existing customer

  • +1

It’s a great offer for people with higher regular spending.

  • +1

Doesn't seem that bad to me. Worst case is $200 for 60k points, best case $60 for 60k points . The Westpac one is $370 for 90k points. The ANZ one is better, but I'm waiting out the 12 months. What am I missing?

    • If you can spent 14k for 4 months, sure. Beware of the first month start date as comments above

  • wow crazy high monthly spend. good if you know you can hit it i guess

  • +1

This is quite a good daily driver if you constantly hit $4k/month and do a bit of OS spend, although the move from the old cash back to Yello and the changes to travel insurance have both been negative but the Lou get passes are nice.

I’d also suggest opting for Commbank Awards and transferring to Velocity during one of their 15-20% bonuses they run throughout the year. That way you end up earning as much as 1.8ppd on foreign spend and 1.2ppd on major stores, petrol, dining and utilities.

    • Could you please elaborate how to get 1.8ppd on "foreign spend" on Velocity? Where can you go? Do you transfer to some greater program from the aussie Velocity program?

      • 3 Commbank ppd on non-AUD spend, converts to 1.5 Velocity. Wait for a 20% transfer bonus of which they seem to run once or twice a year and you’ve got yourself 1.8 Velocity ppd

when I was investigating no international fee credit cards this one came up.

even better if you can make the $4k spend per month and have no monthly fee.

$100 coles gift card is 20,650 Award points.

only pain was getting a additional cardholder as it is a paper form and you both need to go to a branch.

    • This one and Bankwest seem to be pretty much the only Qantas cards with no international fees. The rest are all 3%, which is highway robbery if you ask me.

This one could be pretty good, depending on exactly which retailers qualify for their maximum earn rate.

  • This card just gets worse and worse, but having the monthly fee instead of the annual fee makes it the cheapest on the market.

  • Why would you post this? Are we just posting any card + point offer now?

  • There are cards to churn through then this one

  • Note to everyone. Looks like the total points are sent to you within 90 days of the 4 month period:

“Total eligible bonus points will be credited within 90 days of the end of the final month of the offer campaign period and will appear on your statement as ‘BONUS AWARDS’. The total bonus awards owed will be based on the number of months where the monthly spend criteria has been met.”

  • The one lower tier Smart awards seems reasonable though, might go for that one instead

  • If you can smash a high amount of forex spend each month, you earn 3xCBA/1.2QFF per $1, up to $10k spend per month, which is about the best you can get from a free card (free if you're spending that amount anyway), on top of the SUB.

    • Are you saying that spending foreing currency accrues the same points as its AUD value? Or is there some bonus point for forex?
