    At last!
The lightbulb with speakers - the product none of you asked for.

I had one in the bathroom to listen to podcasts/music in the shower. It was good but after a few years it started to develop distortion. I suspect it was due to moisture as it was fitted into a 3 in 1 light, exhaust and heater unit, and it didn't mention it being suitable for bathrooms.

        podcasts

How long were you in the shower for?!

        • Toilet, bathtub and shower are all together in many bathrooms. You can finish one and move to the next.

Whoever thought of this had a real lightbulb moment…

      • +2

        Sounds like it.

    • You know how we used to have mono sound, and then stereo sound, and then 2.1, then 5.1, then 7.1?

Well, now we have Dolby Atmos and DTS:X, in which sound designers assign a sound to a point in space, and the receiver/amp will play that sound through the nearest speaker.

Assuming these lights play nice with commercial/homebrew sound systems, then being able to hear the Rebel ship and the Imperial ship passing overhead at the start of Star Wars: A New Hope is a Good Thing. They'll probably need help from your subwoofer, but that's fine - bass is harder for your brain to localise, so if you hear bass from in front and the rest of the sound from above, your brain will decide it's from above.

      • +1

I doubt these lights will easily connect to anything via bluetooth that will also support Atmos/DTS:X, and support the rest of your wired speaker.

guess you could say this speaker is…flashy? I'll see myself out, try the veal

I just ordered with free delivery to Qld.

  • Hello the shipping issue has been fixed

free standard delivery is still applicable on the product.

Can all 3 bulbs sync up and play the same music?

    • my question too

    • I think you need something like this?

    • +1

Given its BT, not sure how you'd connect and play through all of them are once. But given I don't have these, I'm in the dark in that question

      • +2

I always enjoy a bit of light humour.

      • They pair up with each other, you don't have to connect to them separately. You will need to connect to Master speaker.

    • @Cludo

Can all 3 bulbs sync up and play the same music?

They are called "Pulse Solo" because they are not designed to synchronise with other bulbs, but rather to be used as a "solo" or "standalone" device. I have used these in the past and can confirm this.
According to Sengled; "…a Solo bulb can only be used as a standalone device."
There might be a way around this, but if you assume they are not able to synchronise, you won't be disappointed.

  • Will this connect and work with Amazon Alexa? Would be sick if the lights would change with music.

The last I checked (and this was about 6-8 months back), Sengled hadn't updated their Android app to be used with newer Android versions. I had a pair of these, and one fine day the Android app stopped working, and could not be re-installed from the play store as it was not updated for the latest Android version. @OP do you know if this has been fixed? iOS app works okay.

  • Cheers OP ;)

Can see Sengled listed under "Works with Google Home" in the Google Home app, so hopefully can control the speaker and/or globe using Google Assistant / Nest.

    • The product will need WiFi to be able to work with Google Home, which this product doesn't

  • 29.99 pack of 3 with free delivery? Why not

  • Good luck trying to set it up . Costco tried to sell this for $10 but all got returned it seems as its still in their shelves for higher price.

  • 20 pack for $29 with free delivery from Costco
    https://www.costco.com.au/SENGLED/Sengled-Pulse-Satellite-Bu…

Like $1.50 each. Must be absolute junk.

Update: I will note I have selected a Satellite product, which is not a Solo product. With that said, you can get an 8 pack of "Master" bulbs for the same price in Costcos clearance bin as well, which can also work on their own (or with the bundled 8 other Satellite bulb):
    https://www.costco.com.au/SENGLED/Sengled-Pulse-LED-Bulb-Wit…

    • Yea they have been trying to offload them for
Months, constantly see them in there for 9.97 in store. They probably gave up and offloaded them to clearance resellers.

Somehow all sengled products have flooded FB marketplace and are sold for a few dollars each.

Would encourage anyone interested in these to check marketplace

  • The best room in the house for these is the toilet.

    • image your neighbour connect it through BT and play some funny sound when you're busy in the toilet……

      • Good! It'll mask all the ungodly sounds being amplified by the toilet.

  • +1

Bought one from Costco when they were selling them for $10. Note the app is no longer available to download via app store, for android anyway. I did download it from an APK file found online.

Light works ok as a light, speaker is also pretty decent sounding too.

    • +1

Ahh that explains why everyone is dumping these products for cheap.

      • Yes that would be the reason why Costco had a heap returned. I wouldn't buy again, I personally put mine back in the box and don't think it will come out again.

  • i might get 1 for $10 just to have a play. couldn't justify to buy 3… could be fine for kids-then you could just play from a device rather than this.
Can you do $10 for 1 OP?
