Married…With Children is one of my all time favourite shows and Al Bundy one the great sitcom characters.

Who could ever forget Al's favourite tv show and it's catchy theme song "Psycho Dad……Psycho Dad….Psycho Dad"

Or his never ending insults aimed at the 'larger ladies' that frequent Gary's Shoes his place of employment.

Featuring all 11 seasons of the series, this boxset is a absolute bargain at this price considering you are looking at around $80.00 - $90.00 to buy the Australian equivalent of this boxset.

JB Hi-Fi currently selling it for $84.00

  • I remember I paid $130 for the first 12 seasons. Was 5 years ago though… So cheap might buy it for the old man.

    • 12, I thought there was only 11?

      • Hmmm.. It must of been the first 10… My mistake. I am missing the last season none the less.

  • Ordered thanks!

First purchase with Amazon too :P

Great price for one of the best comedy shows of all time.

    OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH AAAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL

    +1 for futurama

Never seriously liked the show, only good as a background or as a can't-be-arsed-changing-channel kind of show, but $25 for 100 hours of tv is exxtremely cheap.

Tempted to get it just to marvel at how much money I saved.

This has to be one of the most annoying and useless inventions every made. The fact it was successful and probably generated untold millions in revenue is even sicker. Why are we so stupid as to go along with something like this all the time?

There was a time when the only way to get past region codes was to:

      A) Buy a DVD player from that region. Not a small ask when they were $500.
      B) Buy a model that could be physically modified. No warranty.
      C) Thank the Chinese for completely ignoring region codes and releasing players that played all discs.

Region coding is a form of price discrimination. The corporation gets to make its movie in the cheapest location with local government co-financing, have the money laundered through parent companies and off shore tax havens to achieve a paper loss despite making massive profits, and make the discs in the lowest cost factory. We then pay full inflated price for the discs. Can't be fairer than that.

      • Thank you for concisely explaining my undirected hatred.
It is magnificently ingenious in its own devious way.
So why do we tolerate such dickery? I guess sites like this help mitigate a little bit of the evil, yet it does just all boil back to the buck. Man… All I want is a jetpack or two, yet it seems we have made every possible impassible objective in our way, for no reason other than an occasional nod to success, despite that success actually reinforcing what is preventing us as a larger whole from being successful.

      • The reason Amazon has prices like this may be due to them using tax havens too: www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2231828/Immoral-tax-avoider…

It's not a level playing field when massive corporations are using tax havens. It just leads to job losses and more profits sent offshore.

It wasnt long ago that ppl thought it too risky to mail order from their own country now the world has opened up as more friendly and its ok to spend a grand overseas.
The spirit of the region coding rules is; for retailers not to bypass their local wholesalers not for consumers to bypass the entire retail chain in their country.
Your gripe is worthy of first world problem of the year outburst.
PS you may as well bypass physical media altogether as your silent protest. Thats right keep it silent….

Fine then we'll just torrent/usenet the show and then no one retailer/producer will get our money.

You think that's a better outcome?

    • Al Bundy was an institution back in the day and has set massive precedence for comedy. There was no show like it from memory during the decade it successfully spanned. 10 years is longer than most successful comedies e.g. Seinfeld 8 years, Cheers had 11 years, Cosby Show 10 years and you compare that to Northern Exposure at 5 years, Saved by the bell 4 years you can see that Married with children was in its own rights awesome in its time. I would much rather buy this than the Bond set @ $100 and my dad wouldn't think I was weird. Pay homage.

      "Hey Peg"

      • I loved this show when I was in the US but I'm curious if Australians could relate. One of the big jokes in the show is how old Al Bundy's car is, but in reality at the start of the show it was 15 years old (it was 1972 car in 1987). By US standards that is prehistoric, but in Australia 15 years is about average, definitely not something you would joke about.

  • Loved this show! :)

Meh, if I want to watch this I'll just switch to TV1 - they've gone through the entire series about 10 times.

You'll find the "intellectuals" who hate this show so much are the ones who actually lack the intellect to realise this show was so successful because it was a satire of sexism. It was a tongue in cheek social commentary of the times in which it was made. The people who hate it are the same people who think comedians like Dave Chappelle promote racism. They just don't get it.

This show was, and always will be one of the all time sitcom classics.

    • +2

      They're just Grandmaster B haters…

Trivia: Al Bundy (he'll never be Ed O'Neill to me) has a black belt in BJJ! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tSSt5OQ4zHc :)

    • Agree with Don.

It was largely written/produced by an african-american, so it's probably a personal jab at middle-white-america. Meanwhile, hicks can enjoy the show for it's toilet humour.

  • +1

    The best show EVER!!!

  • so will these play on an australian region ps3?

    • Nope :(

  • +2

Wow almost as good as scoring four touchdowns in one game. Who would of thought the parents would be more famous than the children currently.
