Would would they not? Unless you are referring the toilet issue reported on a Rex operated charter flight last week? (They forgot the fill the water supplies for the toilets).
Either way, I fly once every 2 weeks and I've never had this happen on any airline (no water for the loos).

Yes, was just a joke regarding the AFL team not having working toilets, since this is a promotion mentioning AFL… Tough crowd 😂

Not after I’m done with them.

        Don't be a shit head ;)

How does 10% off compare to some of the regular sales that the airlines seem to have a few times a year? I'm planning on heading to the GC in early December and I'm wondering if I should wait for Virgin/Qantas/Jetstar to have one of their big sales or not…

    • checked to Bali for end of Oct trip. price way more expensive than iwantthatflights.com.. for the sam flight

  • While this doesn't affect this time period, Virgin is dropping the Cairns-Tokyo (Haneda) route early next year: https://newsroom.virginaustralia.com/release/virgin-australi…

    • +4

After all the effort they went to in securing those Haneda slots, it didn't last long. The press release suggests they only have 2000 forward booking pax after the discontinuation date. A complete flop. And Queensland taxpayers subsidised the gamble.

      • Wrong route and wrong plane. Sadly without the wide bodies that route is doomed for failure. Its a real loss to VA to lose that slot :( (How on earth do you deduce that QLD taxpayers subsidised the gamble?)

        • Thank god my HND flight with them returns just before they finish this route :)

        • Virgin Australia's Chief Transformation and Strategy Officer was quoted in the press release:

“I want to acknowledge and thank the Queensland Government for its partnership in launching our Tokyo services and its ongoing support for Virgin Australia as one of the largest carriers of tourists to the Sunshine State,”

      • From memory, initially they were going BNE-HND without the need to stop in CNS. Covid ruined that plan and delayed the launch.

If they had done this, there may have been more patronage.

The airport swap in CNS can be a hassle. Have to collect baggage and self transfer.

Anyone that has done it in the middle of summer, often with limited time, knows what I'm talking about.

      • Time for finally finally finally a QF Melbourne - Tokyo Haneda flight

    • The route is a joke. Cairns airport is miserable to fly out of australia. On top of that not expensive compared to other airlines ( jetstar, Qantas, singapore).

Does this stack with Happy Hour?

    • Keen to know too

Just did a search with the code applied and on incognito not applied and can confirm there is a genuine deal here: $866 versus $943. Though not sure if they jacked the prices as the same flight was ~$800 few days ago.

    • Seems to be the case, more than the $400 return to perth at eofy

  • Bugger, just booked a trip to Tassie with them for December…typical!

too bad they have dropped the route of SYD-HKG during covid.

  • Does anyone know if you can split payment onto 2 cards online when booking tix?
    (don't like my chances)

Got a pre paid visa card that I could use on top of my regular card

    • The answer is no

  • -1

10% off doesn’t mean much if they cancel your flight.

    • +1

Current data from BITRE show that only 1.7% of flights are cancelled for Virgin Australia, compared with 3.3% for Qantas and 2.2% for Jetstar, so it's very unlikely to be cancelled :)

      • That’s positive to hear but unfortunately I got hit with the 1.7% chance a few weeks ago so I’m still bitter
