Can anyone speak to side sleeping with these?

They aren't very good at being the big spoon if that's what you're asking

Alternatively, I found the fit decent for walking etc but rather easy to dislodge if laying down on a pillow

Thanks for the info. The search continues!

Mine only lasted 6 months but good little buds when it worked. Only got a pro-rated refund too from Sony which f**** me off

    • I was too zealous with cleaning mine and they fell apart. Thanks for the reminder of the quality, I'll stick with my wired ones!

    • So no warranty for box damaged items? How much % was pro rated for 6 months use.

Mine was a brand new one. And I should clarify it was Sony Europe and not Sony Australia.

    • is it a faulty unit?
      why they only give u a pro-rated refund ??

      • It died after 6 months. I can't remember the reasoning for it. I did think it was BS at the time, but I really didn't have the time to go back and forth with Sony.

I bought these on day 1 as I cannot stand any type of "in ear" earbuds, and I absolutely love them. I mainly use them at the gym and out running as it's great being able to hear what's happening around you while listening to music.

The downside is the bass is very weak, and obviously when it's loud around you it is harder to hear what you're listening to.

I'm almost tempted to buy another set as a backup in case no one makes ones like these for a long time again. I've got the Buds Live too which are also great though not as well fitting as these, but they were discontinued after 1 release.

  • Lmao they ripped off Loop

    • Link to the product they ripped off?

    • Loop are earplugs, not headphones https://au.loopearplugs.com/

      • I'm talking about the design.

        • Not really though. With these headphones the loop is the bit that goes in your ear. There's no "plug" bit.

@MrFunSocks: There is no "plug" bit with Loop either.

            I have them!

            • @smartProverble: The bit that goes in your ear on those Loop earplugs……that's the plug. That's the point of earplugs - they go inside your ear canal.

  • Pretty poor review on rtings.com. Gone are the days when Sony meant quality.

These are not built for someone looking for sound quality. For what they are designed for, they do a pretty good job

  • Does anyone have experience on how these Linkbuds perform in terms of sound quality and comfort vs other 'open' earbuds like Shokz, Bose Ultra etc?

    • +1

Terrible bass and max volume not super. But on the plus side there's a good deal of leakage (I had people telling me what music I was listening to from across a cubicle divider)

    • Sounds is A LOT better than Aftershokz. But obviously still open headphones. Wish I could wear these for more sport stuff, but they don't fit in my ears that well. Great for the office though where I want to listen to music, but definitely hear if someone says my name.

  • Got these for when they first came out.

IMO not worth it anymore with ambient mode (or similar) getting good on most recent earbuds for when you need to be aware of your surroundings. Those even magnify surrounding sounds, plus retain good bass.

    • The big difference is that these aren't "plug" type earbuds. Some people just can't wear plug ones - myself included - as they irritate my ears and I can't stand that plugged ear feeling. These (and the Buds Live) before them were a godsend. The regular AirPods are probably the only other big brand name non-plug earbuds these days, but they're nowhere near as comfortable as these and the Buds Live.

  • I have a pair, but unfortunately the fit is terrible for me on one ear. They're not bad for listening to podcasts in bed as I'm not moving around much, so the fit isn't as much of an issue, but I couldn't walk around with them.

I have 3 different openshokz type bone conduction headphones and they are much better out and about as they don't ever have the problem of falling out. But they're not as useful lying down, because of the wire that goes across the back.

  • Back in stock just now

  • I got this thing last week and it was broken when I got it. Now I'm still waiting for Sony to send a replacement. They said it'll take 2-3 weeks.

  • I got the package today from Auspost. Turns out, they're made in Malaysia, not Australia. When I emailed Sony eBay about the warranty, they said:

    "Good day!

Sony guarantees a 12-month manufacturer's warranty in addition to your rights under the consumer law."

My question is Will the product made in Malaysia be covered under a 2-year warranty? How do I claim the warranty if I bought the item on eBay? Sorry, I'm new to online shopping.

  • Forget to mention its product made in December 2021 at Malaysia.
