The white ambience ones are a better option.

    • Why isn't White and Colour Ambiance?

      • +3

Colour gets too expensive ($90 ea RRP or $40-50 on sale) for something you’re not gonna use a lot outside of entertaining / TV room.
White Ambiance allows you to go from warm to cool which is great for routines like bedtime (less blue light), activity (daylight), reading / concentrate (cool white). These remains handy even in rooms like toilet and bathroom.
Also the 800ln bulbs in my starter kit are a touch dimmer than I’d like in rooms I need to work in, so take that into consideration too. They’re fine for garage and front door /gate areas though.

  • Nice deal, needed this. Wonder if Officeworks will price match grey import

  • Would not recommend screwing in a BC light bulb.

      what do you mean

Definitely check out the cheap Sonoff 15w or 18w ZigBee bulbs from AliExpress. They are much brighter and full RGBCW for about $7-8aud each and sometimes less. They perform better at meshing Home Assistant ZigBee networks as well

    • Got any links or recommendations?

Wonder if Temu have them too

These are the ones. Sorry I thought they were Sonoff but they are Ewelink. RGB with cold and warm white. They're very cheap and bright. I regret not going for these earlier

    • The cheap lights are always rubbish. They never give warm white at 2700k but instead do just 3000k. They also flicker which strains eyes.

      • Can't say I've had that experience. I have a combination of Hue, Wiz (poor reliability), IKEA, Samsung (poor reliability), Ewelink, and a bunch of others.

  • These don’t look like the ambiance one’s

  • My one broke few weeks ago and barely getting much usage in spare bedroom. Thought they would last longer than about 5 years tbh being LED and all and being quite pricey all those years back.

Even Philips don't seem to stand by their product offering only 2 years

Type of guarantee ‎2 year manufacturer

    • I've had a bunch of Hue bulbs going strong for 5-7 years now, with daily use. YMMV.
