  • Have this multi tool and it is great. Absolute steal at that price.

hmm, wonder if customs would keep this?

    • +1

If your boarding a flight with one of these, yes they will (speaking from experience).

      • +1

        checked luggage

this is the best value brand name multi tool

its pretty decent, i use mine a lot

    • Of course they will keep it for themselves, they won't put it in the rubbish.

    • Lost two of these in two occasions at airport security. Both time was in a backpack I used when go camping and outings. My bad.

Too bad deal is expired 😕

  • Ordered thanks!

  • Does the partially serrated blade mean this would be illegal to carry in most parts of Australia (unless you're using it at work or something)?

    • That’s is correct, you need a valid reason to carry it in Victoria.

      • probably all over australia

you can get away with going to and from work if your job requires it but you cant be bringing this into a shopping center unless you work there

        • Is camping ok? Cooking knife should be okay for camping yes?

          • @bcYield: If you're caught with it while camping fine. If its on your belt or pocket at the movies, less so.

      • I looked and couldn't find a law that specifically called out partially serrated blades. Wouldn't this just fall into the laws regarding normal knifes? You can't carry any knife in a public place without a valid reason, and there is a limited list of valid reasons.

        • There is no difference. Didn’t even realize uv thought there was.

      • I keep mine Swiss army in my backpack for my desk job. The knife part is great for cutting up an apple for lunch, opening packets and envelopes and all sorts of other unexpected uses. Why would this be any different?

Any idea how do these compare to the one in this deal. Got this for $29 from Bunnings and is decent enough.

Was to say the same except mine has not open yet.

  • Thanks op. Forgotten I wanted one after the flurry of weatherman deals a while back

    • +4

Is that a copy of Leatherman?

      • +2

        Oh yep that. Close enough.

  • Bought Leatherman last time. Not buying another one of these multi tools

    • Multi tools are the coolest idea but a bit silly to use for work

      • +1

I get good use out of my Leatherman Wave+ driving coal trains where I use the screwdriver bits for removing/installing blown headlights, fixing dodgy drivers seats and all the other parts for various random on the go fixes.
It's easier than calling a desk tech support to get the code for our locked tool cabinets (locked to stop tool theft…) but if you otherwise had available tools on the job, I can see a multitool would be a bit silly to carry day to day

      • +1

For farming the multitool is a really flimsy pair of piers/cutters and too bulky to replace a pocket knife. [Bulky] needle nose pliers is a fair description but I hardly ever use them.

While still up to the challenge of the professional tradesman

leaves out a lot of tradesmen.

  • 25 year warranty is pretty good

    • +6

Holding out for one with a 26 year warranty just to be safe.

      • +3

        “give it a year”

  • -3

For that price it better be made is USA

    • +3

      Daddy, chill.

    • LOL, Not likely.

    • +2

Just received mine. Designed in Oregon, USA. Made in China. Imho, leatherman quality is far more superior but for $35 it s good enough. Not scared to lose it.

  • +1

    Doh! $57.80 now

  • At $35 delivered it is a good deal for a branded tool.

Butt I wouldn't pay much more than that. If you dont care about the badly stamped branding, then on first impression, its no better in quality than $30 multitools from aliexpress .

    • +1

Yeah, I'm quite surprised with the level of quality from a supposed to be reputable brand…
