  • good kit,

Knipex Twin Grip atramentized also have this screw plier function

    • Twingrip is probably about 5mm minimum diameter on the head? Nejisaurus come in several sizes, fortunately most stocked in AU at reasonable prices, this one seems like it might be a good complement to the Twingrip, thinking of getting one to see.

      Sadly the Twingrip deals expired.

    Genuinely great tool.

Had several rusted and strips screws recently that I needed to remove. Had previously tried to cut flat head slots in the screws, or to drill them out but they were giving me real grief. The pliers made short work of these screws in seconds.

    • What's your testosterone levels/grip strength? 😅

I feel like even with these, I couldn't do squat to a screw.. 🤣

      • You don't need to pull them out with these, you grab the head and turn so you use the pliers to unscrew it

        • Don't you need to squeeze pretty tight though? To make sure it doesn’t slip..?

@WasBargain: That's the idea of the serrated jaws, they bite hard into the head of the screw and deform it enough you can turn it out like a socket would. Watch the video on the product page.

            • @endotherm: Oh damn, deforms it when biting down? That's wild. Now I regret missing it. I didn't even think you could get much purchase, especially from like a curved head screw that sits almost flush but the diagram is showing it should bite. I'll have to check the video out though!

@WasBargain: The difference is that the tip serrations are vertical and curved, not horizontal and flat like normal pliers. You can sometimes get away with doing this sideways with normal pliers, if you have heaps of room around it. Deforming it with bite marks creates multiple points of contact for force distribution.

                • @endotherm: Yeah, that's what I try sometimes. As long as the head protrudes out far enough. Thanks for the tips, I'll keep an eye out for this one again.

There's a Japanese one linked below but it looks too barebones for me and OPs one looks more rugged and tanky.. 😅

  • All coupons claimed :(

For those who missed out, the Japanese Fujiya Screw Pliers $25.20 are also great quality
