Seems to be a good price.
Contemplating adding one of these as I could use a 5th camera at home.

Yup!
Eufy all the way. It locally stores your footage, no subscription service to amazon which funds Bezos yacht petrolAre you using a homebase or? Pretty sure if you are then the cameras connect to the homebase rather than your routers/AP right?
Correct, homebase 2 for my camera. I got the 2k dual camera something.
Nice price
Can use the perks code too if you got oneGreat idea. Just ordered using the code!
Similar or cheaper on Amazon? Amazon have a different bran
That is an entirely different product.
Will this work with Homebase 2?
Eufy's website only mentions Homebase 3.
Cheers, it can work in standalone but I'd prefer everything on the one platform….hmm might just have to upgrade the whole lot. Shame I missed that sub $1k deal for the 4 cameras!
Was a bloody good deal that one
@Jimothy Wongingtons: I'm sold! What deal should I look for a repeat for?
@Jimothy Wongingtons: Thanks mate
Does anyone know of a long term review for this unit? (But I suppose it was only out late last year)
I’ve had other eufy units under the sun and they did not last long…
This one mentions being able to mount the solar panel "10 feet" away, which I take to mean you could mount the camera out of direct sunlight & the panel elsewhere.
Yep, I suppose that's one way to make it last longer, I do like the look of when it is mounted on top of the camera itself tho :) otherwise the cable can be a be a bit ugly.
Agree 100%. That being said two of my Eufy Cam 2 Pro 2K units have been outside under the Qld sun for the past 2.5 years and they haven't missed a beat.
Bought 2 recently, and they are excellent. Can mount solar panel on the unit like in the sales image or mount the panel separately. The cameras have built-in 8gb of storage (non upgradable). It operates without the need for a base station (can buy one if you want for storage) and does not require a subscription. A big feature that drew me to this brand was the fact that notifications to your phone include a snap shot image, which means you don't have to log into the app or camera to see what triggered to camera. The notifications come through to my phone within a few seconds, and the image is very clear. The zoomed in lens is great for extra details, and the tracking works well. After it tracks, you can set it up to return to a pre-defined position, so it's always positioned where you want it.
Thanks for the feedback - was wondering what happens afterwards if it's tracked something over to one side (for example)…!
Do the notifications (assuming no base station) come to you if you are not at home as well?
I’d like to know that as well.
Can you still few a live feed if you are away from home (if you don’t have a base station)?
not sure if it helps, but in parallel I ended up picking up the Eufy S350 (Indoor 4K camera)
It has a bit of local storage already (upgradeable via MicroSD slot) and i set it up via wifi without connecting to Homebase 3 - yes that camera sent notificiations via the app without the Homebase 3 base station. Was home the whole day, so technically don't know if it works away from home (ie/ not on same wifi network) also.
Today, connected it to Homebase 3 to see the difference.
Would assume this S340 has similar abilities.
Just ordered one with the bonus $30 off from JB Hi-Fi perks.
Total was $289.
Tempting to get this to replace existing Ring spotlight cameras, anyone moved away from Ring to Eufy and are happy with their decision?
