I have a couple of 9XXX series philips shavers (one for travel). Blades are getting blunt.
I bought generic ones in the past (bad idea).
I bought these genuine replacements this time.

Don't know! I've had my circular 9XXX models for a few years now And they just won't die. So I haven't felt the need to upgrade. It'll probably be just as good a shave
Dang - lucky. I just assumed that as you had two that at least one of 'em was the new version. I've seen a few people who have commented that the new design is not as good, but my old 5000 shaver needs new heads so was thinking about upgrading. Might get the cheaper 7000 series version that has the new design and see how that goes. If it's ok then I'll wait until the 9000 goes on sale.
FWIW I have a small ultrasonic cleaner - I find that popping the heads into that maybe every 6 months, then a few drops of 'King of Shaves' shaving oil, seems to give the blades a longer life.
Why not just make use of their 90 day guarantee?
I'd go for the 9000 series, top model, and see if you like it.
@dangerdanger: I have a teenage son. If it's any good, I can give it to him… :-)
Anyone bought these before, is it just blades or the full head, mine head lock is giving problem.
These are just the blades.
Thanks, OP. Semi-related topic - how do you find the new design of the head? I've been thinking about upgrading to a new model for some time, but been holding off as the new pentagonal ie "honeycomb" design head looks to me like it would be even harder to shave in restricted areas (eg above the lip, directly under the nose) than the old design was/is.
