How does this compare to the RM850x?

Have a look at the other deals for feedback from other ozbargainers. It's got cheaper parts and has some coil whine potentially.

There is the Rm850x shift which supports at 3.0 and would be the one I'd look into.

The E variant is the cheaper model. Uses some cheaper components but should still be fine. Most Corsair PSUs are excellent.
The E also only has 7 years warranty compared to the 10 years the X has.

    • I used some since lauched, works well for gaming/workstation not a single problem. Definite much better than the cheaper Corsair range which not that good. Never heard a lousy fan at burning test but I always give a bit overhead. For top end PC I choose RMx whixh should be more stable for peak. I will says it is a bit overprice if not counting the warranty service.

Better to buy the RM750x for $140
    or RM850x for $148
They dont have ATX 3.0 PCI-E 5.0 support but they are better and also more reliable.

Rm850x shift is good if your case has 2cm of space to the side of it.. fits in my case with 2cm

    • I only have a 550x :(

    • If you don't use app or have not it in while can get additional $20 discount by making app purchase too.

      • Amazon app?

    Does this one catch fire?

    • Nah thats just the intel volcano lake

Wasn't there a spate of corsair psu's shorting out, zapping PC's and catching fire? With pisspoor backup from the OEM.

I had this paired with a 7800x3d and 4070ti, shit was loud all the time. Even on idle the fans kept spinning. Would not get this mode!
(or maybe I had a defective unit :/ , but some people after a quick google search seem to have the same issue so…)

I bought one last year because they advertised it as quiet and aaaa it’s just not the case
i5-13500 and RX 7800 XT here

I have this one and it’s horribly loud. Everything else in my PC is silent except this and it’s a known issue and many people have this (read the reviews!)
Highly recommend getting the x variant and not making the same mistake as me. It’s only a little more expensive but seems to have superior QC
