I have been eyeing this tripod for a while (it is the Peak design clone) and hoping for a Prime Day deal. Yesterday it was $499, today $340. I think this is the lowest it has been - I think previous lowest was around $370.

Great price, hopefully the F38 goes down to a similar price, given this model is know to have quality issues with the ball head.
I don't like that the F38 doesn't work with arca-swiss, so I stuck with the Y.
Yeah, that's my dilemma. You can buy the f38 head separately I think if you ever want to change.
I didn't see anyone complaining of quality issues with the Y ball head - other than the tightness of the locking lever, and that seemed to be fairly isolated. Most reviews I saw were pretty happy overall.
I seem to remember that the F38 head was something like $30 (maybe US$ ?), so it would be cheaper to buy the Y plus a separate head than pay $415 for the F38 model.
@Andy01: BTW just realise Ulanzi sells a newer version of its F38 plate that will also work with Arca Swiss and Peak Design Capture Clip V3.

But agree with you the Y plus a separate head down the line is the better way to go.
This is an underrated bargain! It's a fantastic tripod. I paid a lot more for mine…
Got the F38 from Aliexpress last week for ~$230. I’m satisfied and would recommend.
Yup same - definite a better buy via AliExpress.
Tempting, till I realised it's only under 200g lighter than my $100 aluminium tripod and 4-5cm longer packed. This one handles a much bigger payload but my kit isn't going to get close to that.
isn't ulanzi cheaper from Aliexpress?
cart says AUD$234.46
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005006729404115.htmlIt is (the Coman branded one), but I am not a big fan of Aliexpress - too unpredictable, and I wouldn't want to try them for after sales service (warranty).
I can imagine losing this somewhere, will buy a $10 one for travelling me thinks.
Correction, thought this was a baby one, turns out its full size! nice!
