Good in indoor cycling, but bad for outdoors and terrible for any activities with flex (weight lifting, rowing, etc).
Get a Huawei band instead.
But good to look at, better looking than the new galaxy ultra
@abs898: and way cheaper
@abs898: Accuracy is more important. It's what fitness tracker for. Even Amazfit in general are trash as extremely inaccurate. Watch the quantified scientist videos for the comparison of so many devices in the chart.
@neoleo: Surely no one is expecting a $60 smart watch to track it that well. If someone gets this, it's primarily looks and health readings secondary
@abs898: Buy Huawei Band 8 or 9 from AliExpress then. You buy this not only for 1 year or less, but for long term until it is broken or you buy a newer fitness tracker or smartwatch …
@neoleo: I am happy with my Garmin and a couple of free Samsung watches I get each year for buying a phone via presale
@abs898: Garmin is nice but less accurate for heart rate tracking. Great battery. Garmin watches and Samsung watch 4 and 5 are less accurate than my Huawei GT-Runner for heart rate tracking …
My watch has a lot of great looking watch faces, 1 week battery, highly accurate only beaten in comparison chart by Huawei GT3 Pro and Apple Watch …
As long as you are happy, it's good. If you can use the ECG feature in Samsung Watch, it's great. No ECG feature in my watch (except Huawei GT3 Pro). In the future, blood pressure tracking should be standard in any smart watches :)
Thanks for this. Absolutely insane how poorly it tracks in some areas! Defeats the purpose a fair bit 😅
You've linked to a mi band, not a smart band.
@Manny Calavera: and this is the 'pro' too.
@Manny Calavera: Eh, I'm gonna assume same sensor if it's from Xiaomi, given that it's the same release year.
this shouldn't even be tested imo.
none of these sub $80 activity trackers are accurate. all it needs to do is give you a number to look at so you can be motivated.
the only thing good on this Miband 8 Pro is the step counter.
This meant to compete with the Huawei band, but just $20 bucks cheaper. Yet Huawei sensors tops most charts, only beaten by apple.
Budgets doesn't necessarily mean bad. That's why this forum exist.
yes huawei watch fit 3 does very well close to apple watch except for sleep tracking.
but Huawei are all more expensive. notice how I said under $80 (and I am talking about global Miband models they cost more, china version is like all sub $60).
I just want to see step count, notifications and use timer with long battery life so Smart band 8 Pro is fine for me I am happy.
also recently learned Google Play store (US company) has pulled Huawei app from their store because of china/US privacy issues. Apple store might do the same soon.
Out of curiosity, does this machine have Bluetooth call features? It's nowhere mentions this!
This "machine" does notify you of calls and other phone notifications but it doesn't have a microphone.
Thanks mate.. Cheers
it doesn't have a speaker so doesn't make any sound at all (which is good for me I like how it doesn't disturb others and alerts me everything with vibration).
it has a single tiny hole for mic, which is for ai in the china version. in global version it's disabled and doesn't do anything.
must have put price back up, showing $139 for me
Says 83.10 for me.
I have a Huawei Honour Band 5, it has been great all these years later (3yrs+), but it's a shame that it no longer syncs with Google fitness, they stopped support for it. I reckon I'd I go a non-Chinese brand next time to keep Google fitness support. I wonder if Xiaomis app is polished as Huaweis.
Yep the app is essentially the same. Makes sense, so no google syncing.
Similar boat, had a Huawei Band 6, then found that Google had dropped syncing for anything from Huawei.
Recently moved sideways to the Amazfit Band7 which talks just fine with Google Fit (so far!). The band is also much more comfortable (Huawei was not swappable). Their Zepp app isn't too bad either. Sleep tracking is good. Lots of band replacement options.
Got it for $59 during an eBay sale from AllPhones
Amazfit is very inaccurate for heart rate tracking etc. Check YouTube the quantified scientist for comparison of many fitness trackers and smart watches.
Hmmm YouTube for reviews…
@Sheep Whisperer: The guy is different as he is the only one in the world that analyses the accuracy of smartwatches, fitness trackers, smart rings. Not just saying this watch looks nice or whatever lol.

My Huawei GT-Runner accuracy can beat so many smartwatch brands out there include Samsung galaxy watch 4/5/6, Pixel watch 1, and even Garmin ;-)
Xiaomi is less accurate than Huawei …
@neoleo: Alright I'll have to give him a look. For the sake of accuracy, Cheers for the heads up.
Quantified scientist doesn't have good things to say about recent Xiaomi bands.
