    I've been waiting for the price to drop for like a month. Better than nothing. I went through App for extra $20 off first purchase. Didn't think the cashbacks of 15% would apply to this? More like 1% (via Topcashback). Not sure if it'll track through App. Maybe should have used Shopback app which opens the Prime app (0.05%).

    I was curious though, on the Meta website they took Asgard Wrath off as a promotion (ended on 30.06.2024 last they advertised). Amazon is the only place I've seen it still in the title only. I wonder if this is a mistake and if it can still be redeemed? Anyone did it after June. I took a screenshot just in case I need to contact support.

      I too am curious about the Asgard Wrath situation - I'll know by tomorrow! I ordered mine this morning when the game was still advertised as being included (also have screenshot).

      I suspect however that when I am unable to claim the game, Amazon will apologise and offer me a refund only - it seems they've taken a much harder line when it comes to giving away money, compensation or promotional credit

        Yes. I think chances are can't claim. What do you think they will refund you for? The value of the game, nominal amount for inconvenience or just say return item? Update us if you have time. If I get to it first, I'll update.

        "We are aware of a known issue limiting certain customers from being able to access the bonus Asgard’s Wrath II game. We are working to rectify the issue and will email you a redemption code to enter in the Meta Quest Store once available. We are hoping to make these codes available to you by 23 July"

          Just confirming that I too received a similar message from Amazon Chat. "… sit and wait until 23 July at which point the game should be available for download. If not, please contact us for further assistance…"

          The unit does not come with any codes. I believe what is meant to happen is that upon setting up the unit, you'll have a free download option for Asgards Wrath 2. For me it listed RRP on the meta store, so hadn't worked/qualified.

              @harley: Possibly just wait until 23rd and see what happens, and if not available on that day or after, raise as an issue as if seeing for the first time. Amazon also said they'll email once the issue has been resolved, meaning they'll include the game code.

              @AliasTheJester: Thanks for update - I'm not hopeful and not because I feel Amazon mislead, but because I think there'll be some meta clause to redeem the game by 30 June 2024.

              In my head, it's (I guess) no different to Woolies still selling promo packs of Shapes after the applicable competition has ended. There'll be condition that says competition/promo ends on X date.

              Side item: Cool name. I used to watch that TV show back in the day.

                Much less of a deal when it is $100 discount but you don't get free the $90 (minus referral code) game. Doesn't really bother me but I'm sure some people were keen to get that game.

          Just saw the update on the change on listing to remove the game, I don’t get a screenshot before hand.

          My unit was ordered Tuesday morning & delivered yesterday. I just checked my invoice and it is showing “ Meta Quest 3 128GB ? Breakthrough Mixed Reality Headset (Asgard’s Wrath 2 Game Included with Purchase) [Video Game] [video game]” under the item description. This is in Amazon app, so check what yours says.

          So will see what happens

            @IndyXIII: I was in exactly the same boat. Amazon support were pretty unhelpful, but I got in touch with meta support to explain the situation and they just responded to say that while the promotion ended on June 30th, an extension was made for people who bought it through Amazon and they added the game to my account.
            So that could be worth chasing up if you have issues.

              The guy said Amazon is a third party retailer and that there is no options. Which support line did you go through? I was confused with the many options.

    Do I "really" need 512GB? Considering I'll mainly use it for "work" purposes of having virtual screens etc.. along with running stuff off my PC like a VR unit? I know you can get games to download onto it directly, but I've also read that most of them aren't that big and 128GB can store significant amount?

      128GB is fine since if you are playing PC VR, your games are being streamed via your PC anyway. You don't require any storage on the Oculus apart from maybe VirtualDesktop or SteamLink apps.

      Had 128 for 5 months now. Play PCVR and direct. I have about 10 decent size games, small stuff, sidequest ant an time and no issues. You can delete games and reinstall as needed and most of the ones you would come back to down the track save your progress.
      It would be nice to have 512 but for me easy to manage on 128

        Lots of complaints on reddit. One suggestion i read there was to change the word 'meta' to 'oculus' in the referral link, and use it on a desktop browser, and it forces it to use the old system. That workaround seemed to work when I tested it on one older game but not a newly released game. End of an era sadly.

    Have a PSVR2 with a virtuallink adaptor on PC which is great for being able to have the oled display and no compression like you do over the quests wireless streaming or usb-c cable. However I do msis out on a lot of games like Asgards Wrath, AC Nexus and the upcoming Hitman VR. Curious if anyone has tried both and can compare what they prefer. For this price could probably sell my psvr and get most of the money towards this. I play 99% on PCVR only, have a ps5 but don't play vr on it.

    Back in the day the 64 gig Quest 2 was ample but the new games are BIG and lately I have had to delete most of my stuff just to fit a few of the newer games on. I'd consider a version that had 256 gig memory but not 128

    looks like isntead of usual $100 promo credit they just took $100 off. so OK deal? use $20 off $59, $10 off pickup and $20 promo credit from $500 Amazon GC deal (or $10 promo with $200 GC if you didn't get that one) to knock it down a bit I guess.

    people be hung up on the possible price error when it dropped to $500 something. that was a real deal.

            I have heard of amazon not fulfilling expensive price errors, and when contacting support they provide you with sorry credit (like $50 to $100 I have heard).

      If I recall, I think this happened with the Quest 2. I initially bought the 64GB variant and ended up returning for the 256GB version, all within an earlier PRIME period.

        I haven't tried the S3 myself but for mine the M3 with 2 batteries is more than sufficient. That way you can just keep charging and swapping batteries as you go.

        Based on reviews. it says the battery from m3 doesn't really charge up the quest like the s3. also says s3 is definitely more comfortable than m3.

        I was looking at the bobovr s3 and kkcob q3 pro and went with the latter. 1/2 the price of S3 and i don't really need the fan.

          Yeah the S3 battery would be much better no doubt because the Q3 is fairly power hungry, especially if you have QuestGamesOptimizer installed, but the M3 battery works fine for me. You would need at least a couple of batteries tho so you can keep swapping them out.

          If you're not moving around too much you can also of course grab a long charging cable and have it plugged in or use a power bank.

    Thanks for posting this! just bought one - been itching to get a Quest 3 !! after a mate loaned me his quest 2 headset for a couple of weeks to try I was just blown away with how amazing VR is! there is so many awesome games I want to play but can't wait to get back to my Half-life 2 playthrough. Playing this in VR made me feel like a kid again! only got about 15% the way through so looking forward to playing through all of it!

    It says "Headset only" but it does include the controllers right?

        Oculus link (free) can be used over wifi or a usb cable. Alternatively you have virtual desktop (paid) with only wifi streaming but has more settings to tweak for your specific setup.

      I attempted Shopback but uncertain at this point if it tracked.

      The use of the above may have disqualified the cashback, but I knew at least I was getting the $20 off where cashback is hit and miss.
