      Thanks for enlightening us

      Bright idea

    • Congrats, how many years?

      • You mean decades

    • +2

What a lucky spouse, sure to brighten her day.

    • +2

I think better chances taking your shot in the dark

    • That should light up her day.

    • Yup, present, for whom?

I purchased a few lights for my wife. They only one's she's held onto are Blitzwolf BW-ET1 (terrible beam), Lumintop LT1 & Olight Bulb.

She pretends to love the most recent, Noctigon KR1 cyan and blue button, XHP70.3 3000K with 18350 tube but she never uses it and leaves it on her WFH desk 😢

Edit: She put our original LT1S on the shelf in the TOILET!!!

  • Has anyone got one of these? Any good for crawling around in roof spaces?

    • +1

I have one and really like it. Haven't used many others so cant compare too broadly but I use it all the time. Plenty bright to illuminate a roof space.

    • +1

I bought the H35B recenelty for $37 and that works great but it is more powerful so this should be quite good as it will be lighter.

    • +2

Would be perfect as long as you don't plan on spending more then an hour crawling around up in said roof. The battery is pretty small so run times aren't the best.

    • +1

Should be more than enough. You don't need a huge amount of light for roof spaces unless you want to see to the other side of the house.

    • I have a couple, they're really well made for the money. The only thing I dislike is that the head mounting is based on two rubber rings that are very grippy so it doesn't slip out, but the upshot is that it's not easy to smoothly rotate and change the angle.. Putting something less grippy like greaseproof paper inbetween the holder and the body of the torch solves this, albeit inelegantly

    great headlamp

Sofirn H25S is about $15 (Pick 3 from US$2.69) on AliExpress.

    • Note: these are technically not made by Sofirn and just rebranded by Sofirn (note: the lack of the brand in the title).

      • It is also sold by the Sofirn official store and the same as this for $4 more.

        • As I mentioned above, they have been repackaged by Sofirn.

There's no Sofirn branding printed anywhere on the actual product. Other Sofirn headlamp has the brand on the actual product/headband.

Here's an example of the same product - Wurkkos H25S or Boruit D25

@RichardL: Didn't know that, thanks for telling.

I just paid around $12.50 AU with a welcome deal for new account.

  • How is this as a headlight for bike riding?

    • I have one of these lights, and the manual states runtime on different light brightness:
      Low: 7h 14min
      Med: 1h 47m
      High: 1h 13min
      Turbo: 55min

The low setting is not too bad, I'd say it's enough for bike riding. Worse case scenario is you can use it for other purposes, as it's a good and affordable light

      • That's a great light assuming it performs. I have the headlamp which gives me confidence that it might be good. The fact that it has an anti-glare cut off to prevent high beaming oncoming bikes/pedestrians etc, is a great feature that unfortunately not many bike lights have.

    • Fine

  • +1

I have one of these and mainly use it for running and trail running. Really impressed with build quality and while run time isn't very long, it's also quite small and light. Highly recommended for the price, particularly compared to prices of petzls and black diamonds etc.

    • How is the bounce with out the top strap?

      • +1

I've never had one with a top strap so can't really compare. But it seems to be fine without. It's relatively light so not a huge amount of weight to bounce.

I've certainly not had much trouble with bounce.

    • This doesn't have a flood mode on it, does it? I have never been running in the dark, so was wondering if a flood mode is necessary or not. What do you think?

      • -2

It’s sealed so it should float..?

        • That was a joke ,
Happy to take the downvote for terrible attempt at humour,
as long as you recognised the joke .

      • It's a pretty focused beam. But that seems to sufficient to light the way.

I run to conditions though. I'm not going particularly fast in the dark, with the poorer visibility. And so far I've only run at night in a running group where there's often ambient light from other head torches.

  • Says product cannot be shipped to select region

  • +1

So glad I missed this. Would have been yet another torch purchase I have to justify to the other half.

  • Yes but now it’s not available I want one ..
