Samsung Galaxy Z Flip6 256GB $0 or Galaxy Z Fold6 256GB $999 - Outright on Optus $69/M 24-Month Plan @ Harvey Norman

570

Optus phone plan offer T&Cs(harveynorman.com.au) — Even though the $69 offers aren't on the page I linked, a little birdie told me they are legit.

CIS has changed so if customer cancels within 120 days, they have to pay half of remaining ($828 + $500)

Cancel method would be stay on for 4 months and cancel as $69x4 + $69/2x20 will work out to be like $966 all up for flip 6 and $1965 for fold 6.

no Preorder bonus gift card included.

Ahh, brought back memories of the Pixel 8 Pro HN deal from last year…

    • Hope they do it again for Pixel 9 but I'm guessing the CIS will be like this, to get people to stay on for 3 months.

    • +4

I signed up for that, got my phone and they never ported me from "mate" to Optus and haven't received a single bill, so ended up being a $0 phone for me haha

      • +5

You signed up which means you signed a contract. I couldn't sleep with that thinking they still have my drivers licence details in their system but glitched out somewhere, could end up at debt collectors in a few years.

        • +6

I know what you mean and I would be prepared to pay it if it comes to that, but technically they haven't offered me a service for nearly 12 months.. I tried for a month with their online chat to get the problem rectified and they were completely hopeless, I have all the chat logs which would definitely work in my favour as I was telling them what the problem was but honestly it was like talking to a brick wall, so I can show I made an effort then gave up.

    • Yep using that to reply

    • Can you please share what was the Pixel 8 Pro HN deal last year?

      Do similar deals keep recurring?

  • +5

This Fold6 seems expensive when compared to deals you could get buying with Samsung promotions deals through EPP or EDU.

I just traded in a broken Galaxy S8 through edu store and paid $2418 for:

    1 x Samsung Galaxy Fold6 512GB
1 x Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra
    1 x Samsung Fold6 SPen cover
1 x Samsung watch band (free)

    • +3

this fold is almost where I wanted the OG folds to be. Almost looks like a phone when hes clamped.

      • They've come a long way from the Fold and Fold2.

    • +9

How is 2418 a good deal for a phone plus watch? Do you mean 1418?

      • 1 X Galaxy Z Fold6 S Pen Case
        $120.41

        Galaxy Watch Ultra (LTE, 47mm)
        1 X Galaxy Watch Ultra (LTE, 47mm)
        $863.84

        Galaxy Z Fold6
        1 X Galaxy Z Fold6 512GB
        $1,432.79

        1 X Free Samsung Care+, 1 Year

1 X Galaxy Watch Ultra PeakForm Band

        • Yeh, that's what I am saying. Considering the S24 ultra deal last year with watch that came out to ~1400 or abouts.

          • +1

@CptnObvious: The S24 Ultra with watch at $1400 is a great deal, but you're making a comparison to two different phones, and two different watches.

            • @eggaz: yeh, but still not $1000 worth difference IMO, but I guess each person puts different value on features.

    • I take it you are stacking multiple codes to get it to that price? Best i can do with samsung edu is about 2100$

      • +2

UNFOLDAI - $450 trade in value (traded a broken screen S8 for $1).

$200 Unique code for registering for the Unfold event (expired last night 11pm).

$200 off ordering a Galaxy accessory in ecosystem.

5% off order for first purchase using Samsung Shop app.

Are you sure it is the $69/month contract? If I'm reading the page correctly it says its for the $99/month contract?

"Customers who sign up to a new Optus $99 SIM only plan in store at Harvey Norman, Domayne or Joyce Mayne during the offer period will also be eligible to purchase a Samsung Galaxy Z Flip6 256GB device with a $0 upfront cost of the device at point-of-sale. Device must be purchased at the same time the plan is taken out."

    • +4

can verify its on $69 plan aswell.
      Flip 6 $0 on $69 and $99 plan
      Fold 6 $959 on $99 plan, $999 on $69.

    • +2

Mentioned this in my initial post.

Even though the $69 offers aren't on the page I linked, a little birdie told me they are legit.

Apparently it was put in on last minute as an aggressive offer

      • +2

Ah okay I missed that part on your post. Thanks for clarifying.

  • Anyone know if you need to be from another provider to port in? Or can i be with optus and sign up to 2 yrs.

Anyone know when this deal expires?

    • Offer not available if number is an Optus Postpaid Service, Must create new number.

      • If already on an Optus postpaid service (I know, I'm a moron) is there a minimum period I need to be ported put before I can be ported back in and obtain this deal? Thank you

        • +1

nope, as long as the number is with a different provider or optus prepaid, you’re fine. no 30 day period like JB

  • When does this offer expire?

Would it work porting from amaysim pre paid ?

    • 30 July, yes

      • Can I port the number out to amaysim after 120 days?

        • +1

you can and will be charged $690~, however if you’re going to pay more than $345/yr or $26/28days itll work out cheaper to stay on the $69 plan.

  • +1

There is a bonus $400 HN gift card on this offer https://i.imgur.com/TH5qbUE.jpeg

    • +1

Op has said “no Preorder bonus gift card included.”

    • +1

not sure where that signage is from but comms from head office and our advertising says no gift card on $69 plan, but gift card on outright/$99 plan

  • Do you get the 1 year Samsung Care free at least? And is the Fold $999 or $949?

    • +2

Samsung Care is free regardless which offer, fold is $999 on $69 plan, $949 on $99 plan.

      • how do I redeem the free Samsung Care+? I got the device from Optus on the plan.

  • +4

Great deal Only if you luv Optus hacked and G. Harvey so much… I paid out of pocket Only $1145 with trade in etc. together with $150 boost prepaid..

  • +4

Man, if it was only not Optus and not HN then I would have got the Fold 6.

  • Has this promo started?

    • yes

      • Does that mean your plan starts immediately and the phone is pickedup when the stock arrives?

        • Yeah phone plan starts immediately and phone is picked up when arrived

      • Which credit rating agency is used by Harvey Norman as I have put a ban on my credit file? Thanks.

        • its done directly through optus, if you have banned your own credit file you would need to unban to access this.

  • Can you confirm if cancelled in 4 months the exact amount to eb paid is 966 or 828?

  • Via my westpac business link i got.

    1x fold6 256gb
    1x clear case
    1x buds3
1 x clear case for buds and 1x year samsung+ (think these are included in most deals.

Traded in a 512gb s23 ultra for $675 (plus the bonus)

    Thought that wasnt too bad.

    Total cost $920

    • Nice deal!
20% off EPP/EDU stacked with the other samsung discounts and accessories voucher makes their offer really competitive.

  • Does the$69 plan on fold6 come with $400 HN gift card?

    That sound good

    • No, gift card only available on $99 plan

      • So if we sign up to the $99 plan, we would pay outright $949 for the fold and still receive a $400 HN gift card?

        • yes

  • +1

    I pre-ordered a Fold 6 512gb through Samsung for $1493.

Deal includes Galaxy Buds 3 Pro, 1 year samsung care and 25w power adapter.

Trading in my Iphone 14 256gb and used the UNFOLDAI code plus a $200 voucher on top I got from Samsung chat just by reaching out.

  • How did you get the $200 voucher? I was hoping to use it on the flip phone. Thanks

    • +1

I contacted Samsung via the chat function to ask why I wasn’t getting the 5% off first purchase on the Shop app. Next minute there person I was speaking with gave me the code to use. I think they are pushing to bump up sales, so doesn’t hurt to ask.

  • +2

So i cancel on day 121 right ?

  • +3

    Optus. never, worst company.

    • +3

After how they handled last data breach, I have to agree unfortunately.

      • not just that, their sales is sketchy, they dont care about your financial situation, they'll say anything to get you to sign so be very careful whats written down, if you spoke about it verbally, make sure its on the contract black and white

  • Are these phones network locked? Is that even a thing anymore?

    • nope, we dont give out locked phones and the phones arent locked to a plan either

      • Is this plan uses physical Sim? So I could get the phone and use the sim card else where.

        • physical or esim, the sim is not locked to the phone and can be used anywhere

  • +1

Any similar deal on the 512gb Fold 6 with a slightly higher upfront cost?

    • yep just pay extra $200 upfront

    • Yeah I have a similar question, if anyone has an answer. The guy at HN Broadway knows nothing about this promotion at all. Does the Harvey Norman in-store promotion have the option to get 512 instead od 256?

      • +3

as stated above, yes. the RRP difference is $200 so you would pay $1199 outright for fold6 on $69 24month plan.

        • Can you pls share and affirm the conditions?
For Samsung FOLD 6, Pay $999 upfront, Sign up for plan $99/month then Only need to stay for minimum 3 months? Then the 4th month you can cancel? Do you need to pay any extra cost? Thank you.

          • +1

@Ricardole: seems like there is alot of confusion with this deal.

$69 Optus Plan, 100GB Data, no Int Calls
$99 Optus Plan, 300GB Data, no Int Calls

            Flip 6 256GB $0 on BOTH $69 and $99 plans
            Fold 6 256GB $959 on $99 plan, $999 on $69 plan

Pay +$200 additional on both phones for 512GB

if cancelling within 120 days, must pay back half remaining (69or99 / 2 x months remaining) + $500 if $69 plan, $600 if $99 plan

if cancelling AFTER 120 days, must pay back half remaining.

        • Thank u!

        • For comparison if you go directly through Optus for a 512gb Fold 6 over 24 months for $112.41/month with a $69/month 500gb plan you'd be paying $181.41/month which totals to $4353.84 after 24 months.

The Harvey's offer would be $1199 upfront and then $69/month over 24 months which would total to $2855 after 24 months.

          Pretty good offer.

          • @VanDammage87: It is, yeah. The similar one last year for the Fold5 was a bit better because it's just $800 I think for the 512gb, with the same $69/mo for 24 months. Oh well. It's still better that most of what's out there. I'm just curious though how I can get it if Im still 12 months into last year's 24-month plan. Wonder if they can just add on the 24 months to my existing. Or if they'd make me cancel the old one with termination fee to get this deal.

  • @HardlyNormal Whats the duration of the $69 plan with $0 zflip6?

    • The linked CIS says 24 months.

  • +1

I was talking to customer service on the Harvey site, and they said 'As far as I am aware, this offer is for the $99 plan only, and I can confirm it is an in-store offer only.' But here's the thing - what if I go to the store and the staff there have no clue about this deal ($69 plan)? How am I supposed to get it then?

    • +1

Yeah I was worried about this also, it's a distance for me to the nearly HN…

      • +1

        24km travel for me too

  • Been to HV store and was told 69 offer is still availiable noting if cancelled before 24months the balance amount of months ($69) needs to be paid plus the $500 .

FLIP 6 is provided at 0 upfront which is instead of 500 gift card.

    • So the $500 extra needs to be paid even after 120 days?

      • Thats what i was told at HV

        • not true, CIS states within 120 days.

  • I've checked Optus' website and couldn't find a $69 plan. They've got a $52 plan with 50GB of data and a $62 plan with 180GB. The $69 plan with Harvey Norman gets me 100GB, so it's probably a modified version of between these plans. Looks like I might be paying an extra $12-$15 per month.

  • I can see the $69 plan on the page linked now

"Samsung Galaxy Z Flip6 256GB on $69 Device Offer (In store only)"

  • Has anyone signed up for the $69 plan with Flip6?

Can you please confirm what is the Plan ID that you signed up for?

    • the plan name is ‘$69 Gift Card Voice Plan,’ can’t recall the plan ID.

      • 2 days after purchasing the $69 plan with $0 Flip6, I rang Optus and spoke with their loyalty/retentions team and was told that I can pay $793 (as per their system calculation) and walk away with the phone.

I was also offered 50% discount ($34.50) for 12 months.

Do you reckon this could be correct?

        • they are not aware of the new CIS, if you cancel within 120 days, you must pay half (which may be 793) + $500 early termination fee.
that half price discount i have seen before however.

          • @HardlyNormal: Thanks.
When did the new CIS come out?
What cancellation fees was in the old CIS?
            Cheers!

            • @rick5042: New CIS was updated 2 months ago.
Old Cancellation CIS was without the $500 penalty.

  • Any recommendations for a Flip 6 case?
    Thanks!

  • 2 days after purchasing the $69 plan with $0 Flip6, I rang Optus and spoke with their loyalty/retentions team and was told that I can pay $793 (as per their system calculation) and walk away with the phone.

I was also offered 50% discount ($34.50) for 12 months.

Has anyone had a similar response?

    • I wouldn't be surprised if you get backcharged $500 later on and then get pointed to the T&Cs that's what you signed up for.

      • Sorry, where does it state $500 in the terms and conditions?

        • Just screenshot the convo with Optus agent and if they charge you, you just mention the screenshot. It's good deal if it's true.
          GL

        • I signed it today; there are different minimum termination cost for Pre 120 days and Post 120 days (effectively +$500 Pre 120 Days)

    • Have you taken the deal of 50% off for 12 months?

      • I would love to take this offer but I am not sure if Harvey Norman will also hit me with a $500 cancellation fee.

        • Hardly indicated discount won't affect cancellation fee. can you accept offer you received and share? :)

  • So a noob question!!! If i want to act on this deal i need to go to HN store correct?

And sign up for this plan, if i decide to stay on this plan for 24 months then total i will pay is 69×24 correct??

    Nothing for the phone ?
