another one you can line up for your month of Prime during 16th July Prime day sales.

In 1874, Will Andrews (FRED HECHINGER) drops out of Harvard to explore America’s Western frontier. He hires Miller (Academy Award© winner NICOLAS CAGE), a mysterious but ambitious hunter, to lead a buffalo hunt in the Colorado wilderness in search of a mythic herd. Based on the seminal novel by John Edward Williams, Gabe Polsky’s epic frontier adventure.

REMINDER: it’s been awhile since I was on prime so just remembered, if you wanna watch any of these WITHOUT Ads you need to pay an extra $2.99.
I thought $10 for a month of free next day delivery no minimum spend + movies was worth it. but $13?? if I sign up this will be the first time I have to consider this.

Cool. Wonder how many ads it has?

    • thanks for reminding me. need to put that info in the post like I did with the last one.

  • I have looked at 2 movies on prime since advertising started and there were only 2 ads for each at the start of the movie.

just finished a month of Netflix Ad tier.
Ads seemed to come in random bunches. sometimes 1 or 2 movies in a row with no ads, but sometimes 2 ads in a movie, sometimes 4.

then another movie with no ads, then random combination of above. repeat.

      • Are the ads just at the start of the movie? Or do they actually interrupt the movie / show partway through?

        • +1

for me at the 2 at very beginning for the first movie (after signing up to prime), then 2nd a few maybe 2 or 3 interrupted in the ones after.
again maybe the 3rd movie I watched ads at the beginning and maybe 1 interruption. it's kinda random.
sometimes can go for quite a while though with no ads, but not an entire movie from what I remember.

    • I've been using prime quite a lot. I think they eased people into it. Right after the change I would just get a 10 second ad for Amazon prime right at the beginning then nothing else. Then I would get a short 10 second ad for a prime TV show in addition to the other 10 second ad. Now a single 20 minute episode of something can have anywhere from 30 seconds to two minutes or more of proper ads (weirdly mostly alcohol ads).

  • Good movie. I enjoyed it.

    This has terrible ratings…

    • Yeah, I always check IMDb first. I usually avoid anything rated under 6+ stars.

      • Same

      • I've found 6.3 is the magic number for IMDB reviews, anything below is usually unwatchable

        • I use x% of Google users liked this film. Anything above 90 is a good movie for me.

Rotten tomatoes doesn't agree with me at all, on most occasions anyway.

I feel like IMDb is very unreliable/hacked for the newest of movies.

Roger Ebert's reviews aren't as reliable as when he was alive.

shittest movie - might as well watch water world

    • I liked water world, I think I was probably 10 when I watched it though…

    • You should watch Water World at Universal theme park

    • ok I usually don’t end up watching something that’s that bad but here goes what sucked when I had a month of Netflix.

      • the last thing he wanted

moderately interesting premise about Columbia drug weapons trade, A list actors Anne Hathaway, Ben Affleck, Willem Dafoe what could go wrong?
      it was so boring.

      • Rebel moon movies

      … yawn.

also tried a few foreign category movies.
Spanish and Argentinian Netflix movies sucked. but Taiwanese and Korean ones great! such as Jung_E it was awesome.
