Cheapest it has come so far. Most other retailers are listing at $459. I bought one recently and really liken it. Sharing some of my research into the product code by LG.

If you are after VA there are probably cheaper screens

I am not sure what you expect at this price point, this used to be one of the top monitors rated by rtings https://www.rtings.com/monitor/reviews/lg/27uk650-w (not exact SKU match, but panel quality comments should still stand).

I can vouch for it for use with macOS and windows (not great for Ubuntu if you need display scaling).

  • 32” is 479/499 (smart monitor) as well, from OP’s link

I bought this about a month ago and use it with my older UL in my 27” iMac..

Only think to remember it uses power bricks which are quite bulky..

    • I also have the older UL which I like a lot. Any difference in brightness or black levels

I'm not gaming or doing anything other than work stuff.

to my eyes they are not really noticeable but I don't run them at 100% brightness.

I think technically if you read the specs its like brightness 400 vs 300..

I grabbed the older one during covid and wanted a second and it matches very closely..

          Appreciate the response!

  • Have been using this for the past year, great monitor but low brightness.

  • I was literally going to buy this yesterday for the latest iPad due to USB-C power, but was leaning towards the 27UL550-W which is also on sale.

I figure I could just use a dock for USB-C video to HDMI. Apart from that, are the monitors that different that I should jump on this deal? 27UL550-W is $279.

My 2c, DCI-P3 95% vs sRGB 98%. Unsure how much of a different from naked eyes.

      • I think you're right that this is a consideration. I also like the multiple inputs and ability to charge iPad over USB-C. You and ClaudeAI talked me into it.

  • Why go this over a G3223Q when its on special (~$540)? Is it purely to save $100 when only doing productivity tasks?

    • +3

USB-C power DP alt mode. You can plug in your USB-C laptop to connect display and charge the laptop at the same time. Not "gamer" feature since 90W isn't enough to cope with the power requirements of a gaming laptop.

  • Would anyone be able to shed light on how this compares to the Dell U2723QE? Cheers!

    • I have both, they’re quite similar but the LG is a bit better in black levels/uniformity, better joystick UI, and a niche game sharpener (super resolution) which cleans up some Xbox/PS5 games (not that this is a gaming monitor but it works well for 60fps).

Really though, you can’t go wrong with either, they’re very similar.

    • DELL should come out on top. Colour Gamut: 100% Rec 709, 100% sRGB, 98% DCI-P3. and you’ll be paying for it also…

  • Great monitor for productivity work and/or light photographics work, both Win/Mac (I use both, for 70% on Outook/Excel, and 30% on Lightroom Classic)
Colour is good enough with IPS.
    Not really for gamer.
I use one in portrait mode next to a 32" LG Ergo.
