@impoze: Back in asia we have chocolate condensed milk that we sometimes use as spread. Maybe a bit difficult to find here, alternatively you can just mix sweetened condensed milk and some chocolate powder. That should give you a good nut free choc spread for probably $5 per 400g or so.
Thats even cheaper than the $9.99 for 900gm thats at Aldi atm ($1.11 per 100gm)

Bet it tastes awful though, never seen a chocolate spread that comes close to Nutella and I've tried maybe a dozen or so.
On sale at Costco too, $17.49 from memory for 2 x 1kg
