Short answer: you can hide games on steam client or remove it permanently using Steam Support. For steps: refer to Long answer
Yeaaaa I did google. Those steps didn't work.
And didn't like the option to contact steam support. That's a PITA.
Hence was hoping there would be a secret method that the community knows of.
