I take it you can't stack with the 4% off in anyway?

    • +7

Senior Citizen discount of 5% is marginally better value anyway (VIC & NSW only).

      • +13

Are non-senior ozbargainers signing their parents up or what?

      • -4

Now they send physical cards instead of gift card, which charges postage charge. So this deal works out better. I already bought some. Took 10 days for delivery to south Eastern Melbourne

        • +2

Since when? Last lot of wish cards I bought were digital, maybe 3-4 weeks ago

EDIT - Looked and seniors discount is still available as eGift

          • +1

@OZBMate8911: Could you please post the link, i think i g9t it wrong, paid 5.50…so ashamed right now

        • Still able to buy egift card via senior portal.

          • @SnoozeAndLose: So can you double up?

            • @Sweet3st: no cant double up as they use different portal, so senior will get 5% on wish digital gift card no only physical one

wondering if I could use Woolies gift card to buy tcn gift cards?

    • You cannot.

    • You can’t use gift cards to buy gift cards, it’s blocked by the register.

  • +2

    5% off or Aldi?

    • -3

I wish. At least it's already 25% better on average.

    • +8

Aldi prices tend to be 1 cent below Woolies bottom tier home brand products. So you’re better off with the 5% off at Woolies if you are OK with the quality, which you should be for quite a lot of stuff.

      • +7

Plus no CC fees at the checkout, unlike Aldi.

      • You're forgetting fresh fruit and veg costs.

      • -3

Not in my ALDI. Occasionally their normal prices are close to Woolworths' - eg some cereals - but in general ALDI is significantly cheaper. Perhaps your ALDI has a local wealth tax? I shop at both regularly and take advantage of Ww specials in particular.

        • +3

I'm talking about the Woolworths Essentials range. Things like flour and sugar. They are never discounted. They are cheaper at Woolies than at Aldi once you take into account the gift card discount and lack of credit card fee.

    • Some ppl stack their 10% off their monthly shop with their 5% off too

  • +2

Can you use Shopback supermarket gift card to pay?

    • +1

Would like to know as well

      • +1

Just tried did not work for me

    • +1

      No, payment declined

  • good found :)

  • +3

Is there any news about the reward app scanning barcode be available again? To be able to use multiple GC…

    • +12

No, they've totally removed that after a security scare. It's never coming back.

Apparently it opened people up to scams, possibly by being tricked into scanning whatever code they wanted rather than only at Woolworths checkouts.

It's a huge shame and very annoying, especially when having multiple gift cards with low balances. Now you have to key in the values individually.

      • -1

So a few dumb people ruined it for everyone else

      • Damn i have so many 5$ GC because of ING min 5 card purchases per month… is there any trick/faster way to use multiple GC?

        • +7

You could have just gone to woolies/coles self checkout and pay 1c with your card 5 times instead of buying gift cards.

        • I used to buy 5x $1 Amazon gift cards - just did it in the comfort of my home

        • +1

For ING criteria, I find it easier to buy (discounted) GCs using PayPal's Pay In 4. Then just make extra repayments to PayPal from the ING card, $1 x 5 times. Pay In 4 spans about 6 weeks, so covers two months of ING criteria (or even 3 if GC is bought in the last week of the month).

      • +2

They need to implement contactless for it, not QR codes

      • +4

This is by far the superior feature everyday rewards had - I really hope they find a way to implement it again.

      • +2

Or they could just create a new feature to let people merge gift cards, or let all gift cards added to a "wallet" and just require OTP when people redeem.

        • Yes, like apple does. You just load the gift cards into your apple account and it adds to the balance.

      • Sorry can you explain the background on why they removed it? I always wonder why it just disappeared. It was so covenient for gift card users

        • Apparently people were also scanning random QR codes that were pretended to be from woolies and scammed them out of their money

          • @illusion99: What was the feature they removed?

            • @firestint: Removed the ability to scan a QR code at woolies checkout which automatically pays from your wallet/giftcards

        • Woolworths shuts down system after Everyday Rewards members are hit by scammers

“Unfortunately, we have identified a small number of Everyday Pay users who have been personally targeted by a sophisticated external phishing scam, which has led to them providing their details to scammers. We are supporting those who were affected,” the spokesperson told 7NEWS.com.au.

“Out of caution we proactively turned off the Everyday Pay QR payment option in-store while we investigated.

“We want to reassure our members that our Everyday Pay systems and data remain secure and have not been compromised.

“While it was temporarily unavailable last week, the Everyday Pay wallet continues to be available for gift cards - which can be purchased, stored and used for in-store and online purchases.

“We are now taking this opportunity to review and simplify our in-store Everyday Pay checkout experience, and as a result, QR payments may remain unavailable while we work through this process.

When I used PayPal I received this: We can't process your payment using your PayPal account right now. Please go back to the seller's website and try using a different payment method.
Is anyone else having the same problem as me?
Edit: There is no problem via RACV to get 4% discount for Woolworths gift card to pay with the Vanilla Visa Gift Cards via PayPal.

    • Yeah even I'm getting the same, this is the second time (morning at 7 AM) I'm try to buy.

First time it went fine ( last night around 1 AM) and I paid with my vanilla gift card using PayPal

    • Issue is still there.

  • i did not receive my gift card , anyone else have this problem ? i received the order confirmation and thats all

    • Took about an hour after order confirmation to receive the gift card

    • i got it straight once ordered
unless your order amount is an unusual digit ?

    • My gc came an hr after the order confirmation email

    • Bought and received my eGC 7 mins after the confirmation email.

    • Have you checked your junk email?

    • got it , thanks everyone

    • Mine took nearly 3 hours. Purchased on the web page at 8:06am, egift card arrived at 11:03am.

      • Wow, i see in the rewards app they are having issues with gift cards atm..a banner flashes up letting you know of the system issue.

  • +3

if you purchase directly in Rewards App, you received it straight away

    • Yep, just purchased one through app and received immediately

      • yea - but can't use paypal or like Vanilla GCs to pay via the app

  • Damn, they always end the offer just before i get paid

    • +3

That's what a credit card is for.

      • I get FBT pretax amount deposited to a card when i get paid

        • What is the benefit of this and how does one get this set up?

          • @Smol Cat: Well i assume you don't pay tax on that amount and it's restricted to certain industries?

  • +1

    I miss the $10 off $150 Prezzee deals :(

These just don't seem good enough for me

  • -2

    5.5% in my ubank acct…

    • +2

      Tax?

6% in my offset but this still beats it unless I’m hanging onto it for a year!

  • I think it's easy to get 5% wws gift cards, but I rarely purchase it as I don't think 5% off is worth to me to git rid of the easily payment with Apple Pay, and also deal with the remaining dollars.

    • easy to get 5% wws gift cards ?

      • It is always 4% in a lot of rewards platforms. When it's under promotion it would be 5%. See this page

  • Just in time for my last round to have run out.

  • Woolworths has changed the gift card store to "miscellaneous general merchandise." It is no longer classified as a supermarket/groceries merchant, so my Visa card cannot earn 3 points per $1 spent. However, the Amex card still earns 3 points per $1.

  • Any offers for eg petrol?

    • No, not through this deal.

There is no EG Promotional gift card in this deal, plus none of the gift cards in this deal are listed as working at EG Ampol.

I also once tried to use a Woolworths Supermarkets Promotional gift card at EG Ampol, but when I entered the gift card number and PIN into the EFTPOS terminal, the gift card was declined. The decline receipt listed the reason as "insufficient balance" and showed the balance as $0.00, but the Woolworths Money app showed it had sufficient balance before I tried to use it at EG Ampol and I used the same gift card at a Woolworths supermarket about 20 minutes later.

EG, Essentials, Wish and Your Pick (which has fuel options) is 3% off on the everyday rewards app

        • Yeah I purchased wish at 3% off.

          Thanks

    • AmpolCash is on sale from time to time.

  • thanks. bought it
