From talking to people in Geraldton who have flown Nexus, they are a lot more reliable and favourable than the only alternative on that route in Qantas with their noisy, awful Fokker 100’s they use.

They were started by a Kunnunurra businessman who was sick of the crap service the bush gets in WA. They fly Dash 8-400’s which are actually pretty suited to the routes and capacities they are flying.

Bonza was doomed to fail. Aircraft too big for the routes they were flying, casting their net too wide across the country and flying to obscure places.

These regional airlines like Nexus, Skippers, Rex among others in WA have actually been around for a while. Nexus is relatively new obviously. I know Skippers and Rex have contracts with the stave gov to fly certain routes to allow locals access to services in the city. Not sure about Nexus.

      • There are indeed quite a few small airlines doing the rounds in the regional space, and a lot of people don’t know about them at all - try asking someone in Sydney about FlyPelican, for example, and they would look at you blankly and wouldn’t have a clue that it operates from Newcastle.

These companies generally know what they’re doing and operate without the fanfare of the occasional big shots from some big places who seem to think that jets such as a 737 would work in regional setting where the turboprops have been around since forever.

Seems to be through WA and NT only?

    • well the flights are but you could probably still buy them even if you reside in a different state/territory

  • Route map here (https://www.flightconnections.com/route-map-nexus-airlines-g…)

Also anyone want to share a flightconnections pro account? Not worth it otherwise.

  • Looks like they run lower cost planes than Bonza. So may survive a while.

  • In Sydney. But looks like a nice deal for ppl on the West.

  • Does the return flight have to be before 31st Oct?

First time hearing about this Airline

It is a rebrand of Aviair which has been around since 1984. They fly IRFN routes regulated and heavily subsidised by the WA govt.

  • I saw sn advert but assumed they were eastern states. Thanks
