I remember playing it in the 90's.
Purchased it on GOG when it was first made available, brings back so many memories. It's worth a purchase (they've patched it up since release as well!).

    • Yes, same. I still have the box it came in somewhere. The Enhanced Version isn't as great as it could be, all the original source material was lost. Interesting story of what they tried to do here nevertheless.

      • I still have the cap that was bundled with the box. Those were the days.

I picked up the boxed version from GameTraders. A very confusing, very pixelated game. But I liked it, I was really into FMV at the time.

      • My fav FMV game from the 90s is Goosebumps: Escape from Horrorland. Also the X-Files game.

Does anyone recommend I purchase this game? Are there any good reviews on this game itself?

If you like 90s point and click adventure and Blade Runner, you'll like this.

Do you need to know the (original) movie well?

Also, a lot of bad reviews on gog for this enhanced edition. OG sounds better tbh.

        • +2

Yeah, same on Steam. Most are saying to give the enhanced version a miss. This may be the cheapest way to get the orignal anyway.

Do you need to know the (original) movie well

Not really. It's not a continuation of the movie.

Original comes included with the enhanced version

It's 10 hours long and has a much slower pace. I played it once and got bored half-way through.

I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Enloops on special off the shoulder of Orion. I watched Lego glitter in the dark near the Tannhäuser Gate. All those bargains will be lost in time, like tears in rain.

So many good games on here since yesterday.

  • The game plays out almost verbatim to the movie. You would only play this for the joy of playing it.

    • Isn’t the culprit random on every playthrough though?

    • Hi. You can not have played the game. The game has six endings depending on variables established randomly at the start of the game where five people are either human or replicant, who the final replicant is and how much information you collect during the game.

And the story is different starting with a murder in a shop.

It has Blade Runner themes and content but is not the same story.

  • Is the remastered version actually worse than the original, or just disappointing?

I adore this game. Probably completed it about 5 times. Last time was maybe 5 years back. Difficult game for newcomers just because of the very dated pixel graphics. Sometimes difficult to find stuff. But I love it. Love the music. Love the mood. Love the computer mini games. Love the multiple endings. It deserves a remake.

  • Enhance…. Enhance…..Enhance.

Great game, really got into this one and drew my attention to other titles and the world of scumm

Ironic that modern AI upscaling tools get close to the old "enhance" cliche. AI still falls a little short of Blade Runner in that missing details are guessed rather than discovered.

  • Always was curious about this game being a cyberpunk fan.

I've heard the remaster is, well bad.

But this comes with the original as well.

Pixelated, I know, but still with playing in 2024 if you are a blade runner fan? Or just too dated?

    • +1

Yeah its a very very lazy "enhanced" edition where they did the bare minimum even lots of free fan mods for other games put in more effort upscaling backgrounds etc..

It comes with the original version so good for that.

      Hi. Worth it.

The voice acting sounds really bad, like they're not acting talent but just game developers reading from scripts. I would pass on this even if free.
