[NSW] SMAKSAK Forced Air Oven With Pyrolytic Funct $399 (Was $1149), In-Store Only @ IKEA, Tempe

1040

First Post, plz be nice. :)

With pyrolytic function. Seems Tempe is the only store in stock in NSW. Price goes down to $399 in store, ($799 if online C&C, was $1,149).

Manufacture number 21552 so should be made by Electrolux.

Still 20+ stock when I was ordering.

    SMAKSAK

Ummm. No thanks. That would hurt.

    • +1

The oven does nuts quite well actually…

    • +27

And it's not even optional according to the title.

      SMAKSAK Forced

  • Does this need to be purchased in store or can i call them?

  • +3

is the in store price only at the store listed or is it that price at every store in store ?

my local store is Logan and shows stock @ $799 same as OP stated… you know what i'll call them to verify

    • +2

Any luck? My local is also Logan

      • Also keen to grab one if same price

        • Tried asking for click and collect, they said tempe only

      • I got one at Perth.
Was a hassle though. Online put the price through for me but in store didn't honour it so had to go back to online support again and go back in store again.

Too much driving but it's a nice oven.

        Made in Italy

    • The title says NSW so

    • Store exclusive unfortunately

  • Absolutely love the model name.

As a swede bit surprised who came up with the names. Smaksak in my interpretation is "tasty thing". Smak is taste and sak is thing.

      • +12

        I believe in miracle
        Where you from
        You smaksak

        • -4

          He/She is not a thing!

      • It's a pun on "it's a matter of taste" yeah? "Något är en smaksak"

      • +1

As a swede bit surprised who came up with the names.

        No f*n idea

Have this exact oven paired with the same name microwave/combi oven above it. Very good performance and quality, pre heats to 200c in about 6 minutes and the temp probe is handy for roasts. Recommend grabbing the Patisserie Trays from AEG/Electrolux parts store (https://www.aegaustralia.com.au/cooking/accessories/acc117/) for really nice pizzas and stuff that goes well in an air fryer (chicken tenders, chips etc.)

    • Hi Readerr0r, would this perforated tray fit in any 50cm oven?

      • It shouldn't be an issue, the tray has specific cut outs so it works properly with the AEG telescopic rails, but nothing to get in the way of the normal slots. As always, your mileage may vary

edit: note standard oven size is 60cm, which this one is too

        • Thank you

    • @janjan this

    • Are they really $100 per tray? Any discounts or local options?

  • +7

Still $799 in store at IKEA Perth

  • +4

You'd be spewing if you paid full price for the oven hey.

    • Can you refund and buy back at the sale price?

    • This model been around for years

  • +2

"Honey, do you want a SMAKSAK?"

    gets smacked in sack

    • -1

@Muzeeb already beat you to that joke

  • +5

If you go into Chat and ask nicely…
They'll give you the $399 for click and collect.

    • Confirmed. Just bought one

      • I just tried, no luck. What store did you manage to get pickup from?

      • Legend!Did the same and worked.

    • Thanks for the tip Rick. The chat rep emailed me a $399 invoice link, I paid and will be collecting it from Tempe.

    • Looks like for Tempe store only…

  • Do people put this under the stove?
    Thanks

    • That depends if it fits

      • +1

The size is pretty standard from my quick check.

        • The height is only less than 600mm. If people put this under the stove, then what would they put under this?
I think the standard height of kitchen carbinets is around 700-720 (excluding the kickboard).

          • +1

@Averell: My kitchen has a 60cm x 60cm opening and then a ~10cm panel above it to take the height up to the benchtop

          • +1

@Averell: I think a spacer can fill the gap. Personally I haven't tried it before. I checked a few other ovens before and mostly they are 60x60. So lower the height can fit from what I see. Best to confirm. Need someone else with the experience to answer.

Edit: scottySK seems to have answer that.

    • +1

Yeah. Looks weird putting it on top of the stove

  • -6

Would have been good if it was a Bosch, made in Germany for $287 hehehe. I make joke. I will go away now.

  • Does anyone know which OEM makes this?

    Edit

    Electrolux

    • Yea but Electrolux don't seem to have any model that looks like this on their website or maybe I am not looking hard enough. Also it seems like it's a 2018-2019 model looking at the oldest reviews on Ikea. So it may have been removed from Electrolux's website long ago. Still $400 bucks with Pyrolytic cleanings function, pretty ok deal if you need a new Oven. My Whirlpool Oven or is it F&P not too sure, it is 28 years old and is still chugging along so no life benefit for me to get this. Looking at the vote count and click count on Ozbargain for this deal, this might sell out fast like the Bosch Dishwasher.

      • If this is made in Australia it could also be a rebadged Westinghouse or Chef oven. These brands are also owned by Electolux. All Elextrolux Group ovens sold in Aus are made at their Adelaide factory except for their AEG brand I think.

  • Now says not available for click and collect at tempe

  • I’m here right now. It’s OOS

    • I was told I got the last one. According to Invoice, it was at 7.19pm.

      • +1

Feel happy for you. I drove 40mins to get there, only to be told that it was OOS.. Should've given them a call first. I believe I arrived at about 730pm

  • Sold out confirmed on chat

  • This is a great deal. Was looking for a new oven, with the functions that the kids can bake with.
Would ikea offer this price for an online purchase?
    + delivery fee of course.

    • It's $799 at any other Ikea. Tempe only deal

  • Nil stock :'(

    • -4

Same as the Bosch Dishwasher deal. Sold out quick BUT keep checking once a day, 1-2 may keep popping in some stores on and off if lucky for the next 1-2 weeks like the Bosch Dishwasher. If that fails, guaranteed to see them 24 - 48hrs later on Facebook / Gumtree for $200 extra so keep an eye for all the resellers too, resellers are half the fun with these deals.

  • Can an Oven expert break down these power figures to see if this is at all an efficient / good oven. It says; Energy efficiency index 81.2. Energy efficiency class for each cavity A+. Energy consumption per cycle for each cavity (Conventional) 0.93kWh/cycle. Energy consumption per cycle for each cavity (Fan forced convection) 0.69kWh/cycle.

    thanks OP.

    Got one yesterday.

    • +1

haha someone downvoted me for saying thanks to OP…. what a community…

Thought I would try my luck today and see if any physical stock at Tempe, managed to get 1 at 2pm. Pretty light and easy to get into the car by 1 person (around 35kg). A few more came in stock at Tempe, perhaps cancelled orders or change of mind orders from last night. Staff computer showed 1 more left in stock at Tempe. Anyone in the area, pop in, try your luck. Cheers.

    • +1

I saw that there was 2 in stock on the website, was wondering if that was actually the case haha,

Will keep an eye out if any of that stock comes online.

Hi Guys, if u need a IKEA item in MEL with same price like Tempe, pls go to the MEL Richmond IKEA service desk asking their manager Alex, only he was so nice and happy to price match same price with other IKEA stores, if u bought more expensive than other IKEA, psl show to him and he will either give u cash back or gift cards for the extra u paid

    • any chance to get it for 399 now in mel ?

  • Got told quite a few more are coming in stock soon

    • Spoke to online rep trying to get them to put an order for me online.

Apparently all 12 due to come in are already allocated to paid orders.

He tells me this after spending 15 minutes getting to the last part of the order…

      • Agent ended up generating me a shopping list with the discounted price and told me to try contacting chat again to check stock levels.

There must be stock available for them to be able to place an order.

        • Was this order for pickup from Tempe?

          • +1

@garethds: Yep, i tried getting a click and collect order done because i cant get into store until the weekend.

Just an afterthought, people upgrading from super old 20-30 year old Ovens, check your Electrical Switchboard for compatibility and AMP / Wattage rating. Smaksak is rated for 3500w max. My old Oven was only 2000w max. Also my oven wiring coming from the switchboard is shared with the cooktop. I think the modern rules are separate fuses and wiring from switchboard for cook top and oven on 2 different circuits. My Oven / Cooktop is on an 30 amp fuse which currently serves the Cooktop 6800w max rated and 2000w for old oven. The oven upgrade will need an extra 1500w on the same circuit. I think I will have to budget in a switchboard upgrade or perhaps get away with running a new circuit just for the oven from the switchboard. I thought it would have been as easy as remove old oven, hard wite 3 cables into new oven and call it a day. Make sure to look up your setup if you live in an older home with 20+ year old ovens. Your setup could also be run on a single cable for both the cooktop and oven.

  • I talked to an agent this morning and couldn't place an order, but maybe there is still a way.
