That's what Xbox Remote Play is for

    • It's been dropping every day. starting to get somewhat tempting now but still high for 1tb

  • XBOX really fails gamers on this front. Guess Sony learned their lessons hard with the Vita's customised SD cards lol

Xbox has been poor when it comes to internal storage with every console they’ve released. Never supported people using standard drives to swap out the internal storage, and with the 360 the drives similarity had that more expensive proprietary enclosure.

At least the One they were quick to support USB external storage (and think they got there in the 360 later in the life).

The proprietary external storage for the Series console just compounds the issue.

Sony dropped the ball with the portable consoles, but have been alright when it comes to the internal storage for the home systems.

Never supported people using their own drives. Let me tell you about the original Xbox ;)

Thanks OP, they are now $168!

Plus I purchased 2 and got an extra 10% off (code = GEISTHZZOPSZ) bringing them to $151 delivered each. Unbeatable pricing, cheers.

Me last night: oooh 168 I could almost bite, don't need it, but I could bite

Me when the price goes back up to 174: (profanity) off! Never needed it, stupid, overpriced garbage, 167 or bust!

To be honest my main hangup is if it will be useful next gen. The way they treat controllers makes me hopeful, but the way an Xbox 360 memory card doesn't even work on two thirds of the 360 models makes me weary. I have an S and an X and this would be useful for keeping a couple larger games around on both, but I don't want to buy something that already doesn't work on my Xbox Ones, when there's no certainty it will work on the next Xbox either. If it ends up being relegated to only the Series consoles and not next gen, they might go the way of the aforementioned memory card and wind up cheap as chips too which would be more poopoo. Decisions decisions. Might just stick with the 256gb $20 flash drive I use to copy games around from time to time. Dope deal either way, OP.

      Yeah, it is tempting, but:

      • Chance of Series X's successor continue to support it is likely quite low. It is PCIe gen 4 x2 currently. Hard to imagine Microsoft not doing PCIe gen 4 x4 next time.
      • A reader for this (assuming it works with CFastExpress type B readers) is pricey and further adds insult to injury.
      • Still too pricey and only 1TB.
      • The bulky bit at the end means it probably cannot be used for high end digital cameras which support CFastExpress (not an issue for most people since we can't afford one of those cameras anyway).

Guessing Amazon DE could entice us to buy this overpriced item if they lowered the price to $167 (or lower) this evening.

  • Now $188.28

    • Even more now, almost back to 200
