More Internet Increasing Price – Looking for Affordable NBN ISPs

Hi everyone,

I'm currently on the More Internet Value NBN plan with 25 Mbps down and 8.5 Mbps up, but the price is $50.40 increasing to $76 from 1/8/24. Does anyone have recommendations for an alternative provider that offers similar speeds at a lower price?

Thanks in advance for your help!

    1. Try a search: https://www.google.com/search?client=safari&rls=en&q=cheapes…
    2. Select the top result: https://www.whistleout.com.au/Broadband/NBN-Plans-Speed-Tier…
    3. Select NBN 25, you'll see the 10 most popular
    4. Here's the full list, showing 25 that are cheaper than More: https://www.whistleout.com.au/Broadband/Search?connection=NB…
    5. I recommend flipconnect.com.au which isn't on the list
    • Seconder for Flip. Support is great when needed (not often).

    Leaptel 25/10.
    $49.95/m for 6 months.

    Exetel 25/10.
    $53.99/m for 6 months.

    • Here is a thought. If you have just recently signed up say 6 mths Leaptel for $49.95, would you pay this price for 6 mths or when they go up say in 1/8/24, would you then pay the updated price until end of 6 mths?

You pay $49.95/m for 6 months. ISPs already changed pricing from July 1st.

I went from More to Superloop. They have good prices for 6 months, and easy to setup. Will look to churn again after the six months over

    • Don't forget there 1 month cancellation notice

spintel is the absolute cheapest for 50/20 at $77

    • … if you ignore Flip $73.90; and AGL $69 if you're an energy customer

  • It's time. Time to protest the exorbitant rates we have to pay for an essential service. Got a VOIP at home?

Before July 1 it seems $80 month was "acceptable", but now… sheesh.

  • I'm on Superloop, first 6 months $75 100/40. Note placed in google Calender for 5th month. Will scout deal in true OzB style.

I am with Moore, however, I am getting 35% through Yellow CBA. you might get that discount as well.

    • Discount is only for first 12 months

      • Not entirely correct. I signed up for More roughly 2 years ago for the % off/12 months. Coming up to end of promo period, I received another More % discount in my CBA Yello. Contacted live chat, supplied screenshot of deal, and they applied it to start at end of 12 months. Currently 24 months discount with More.

        • nice. I tried that they said no, only for new customers. will give it a go again

          • @Coppermelt: They did the same for me for the mobile discount, but NBN they pushed it through. I guess just churn different support people till one budges.

Unfortunately nbn in Australia is expensive. I just churn every 6 months and try to stick with Exetel, Superloop. Only catch is having to give 1 month notice. Sometimes you can also bag some cashback. My current Superloop is 3 months in. When closer to the date I’ll contact them to see if they can keep me with a discount, but otherwise I will move to Exetel.

  • Any experience about mate NBN? Thinking of joining them

    • $45 for 6m, then $65? Meets your requirement for cheaper than More, but are you too affluent to go with lowest price?

  • Hi all. Same with OP, More discount ended. Looking to transfer with another ISP. Currently at 200/40. Thinking of maybe getting a lower speed tier as well (100/20). Had a look at eero live usage on peak times, we’re not even close to using 100 mbps

First time churning on FTTP, i am assuming it’s just signing up to another ISP, specify the port to use in the box, transfer cable, maybe change some settings in the Eero, make sure internet is alright then cancel with More? Also assuming the eero’s will work even if they were supplied by More initially?
