Brickbats to the OP for posting this one. Lime Blue is a regular poster here and treat ozbargainers well, this is not int the spirit of the giveaway,

      • +11

“ The free 1kg of coffee is intended for use at the successful applicants’ place of work.” I think their intention was to look to “business customers” not “individual”.

Personally I would pass this deal because like others who have commented, I like lime blue (you could say I am a fan of their coffee and business ethics), and I want them to be successful in getting the business customers that they are targeting.

        • "business customers"

Not a problem. They could ask for the ABN and cross check the details.

From what I gather, they are interested even in small businesses, like mine. My orders would be measured in the single digit kg/month - again if they wanted that kind of information, they could ask.

  • +1

    This is not a deal
You can't oder its just an enquiry form

    • So…. You're not a business then.

  • +12

Not a deal. Tom is a legend, and is clearly trying to land some higher volume orders from businesses. Please don't take advantage of this small business.

    • +1

Couldn't Tom just ask the mods to remove it if he didn't want it on here, or just end the promotion?

Members have been posting stuff like this since OzB was created.

  • +5

This is not a deal mate. Don't take advantage over legit marketing actions.

  • This is the excuse I needed to get change my work bean supplier to Lime 👌

  • 34 bags are left to give away at the time of posting.

Still available after over 1k clicks

  • -3

From the river to the sea, Coffee will be free

  • I feel good that people are not taking advantage of this

    • Agreed, their coffee goes on sale pretty often to for a very decent price. Don't want to have to search for good coffee again after my last supplier nearly doubled in price.

    • Hmmm over 1400 clicks so far, how do you know this?

      • +1

        Is that including yourself?

    • Same my first thought was everyone is going to jump on this. My wife had a legit business from home so technically I could do it but we’re not the target market.

    • I feel bad everyone is being too nice to them and LimeBlue is taking advantage of us.
Look at their website it still says 34 bags, it's a fake number and real businesses are still signing up and they actually don't have anything to send lol.

      • My response to your other comment below @cowboydev addresses any mis/selective interpretations of where things are at. Fingers crossed this clears things up for you :)

  • Sold out. The form is no longer available

  • +2

Negging as it's encouraging ppl to take advantage of a great small business.

    • Yeah Id like to think the vast majority of us would have the moral compass not to take advantage, but I know some people aren't satisfied until a business is actually losing money

    Morning Everyone :)

I woke up to a bunch of notifications this morning, so I'm playing a bit of catch up…

First, let me say thank you so all the truly wonderful comments of support, you've brought a big smile to this side of the screen :) :) :)

Second, looking at the wording of this post by @Maglia Nera I believe their intention was positive for both the Oz Bargain Community and Lime Blue Coffee, so thank you for your good intentions

Third, sincerely appreciate this amazing Community and don't take you for granted at all, which is why we'd never post a half baked idea on this forum. This is the very reason we have not posted a similar offer to this here yet. This is the first time we've ever done paid advertising and really ventured into the world of social media. We only first put this offer out there in May and although it seems like 2 months is a long time, anyone who's advertised online before will know it's not long enough to get even close to fully baked offer AKA this offer is still half baked and we're learning from it as fast as we can to improve it. For example, by design there's no space to enter an address, the process is a follow up phone call the get the additional details needed in line with the terms and conditions of the offer. Not everyone who submits details will receive the complimentary coffee. We need to check details and learn from those checks as we've already discovered there are a number of people who only see "Free Coffee" without noticing the finer points a number people who have previously submitted the form missed the detail that the offer is for beans and so applied for a bag of beans when they only make instant coffee, use pods or only have coffee out at cafes. Also some recent leads do seem valid, I can already see the majority of people who've submitted the form since this was posted to Oz Bargain last night have just seen "free" and clicked as they have written a residential address instead of business name, or entered invalid contact details or submitted several entries using different email addresses…this makes me think a number of these people will likely also have no use for a bag of beans as they may not have the equipment needed to make a delicious coffee from beans

Fourth, yes the offer is legitimate, but I don't believe the offer is currently up to the standard of quality which merits a post to the fantastic Oz Bargain Community. As mentioned, prior to this we've never had an offer like this, nor have we advertised and we haven't really dived into the social media world either, so we're diving into 3 new worlds all at once. I'm the first to admin we have a huge amount to learn and we will learn, but to learn the huge amount needed about this from the Oz Bargain Community I believe may undo the fantastic relationship both side of the table have worked hard to build. In the meantime, please bear with me while we learn more. I promise you won't be forgotten. At some point in the future you will receive an opportunity like this directly from us, but we won't post it until we're happy with the quality of the offer for this Community, this includes the operational aspect e.g. we don't currently have the resources to make 1,000 calls a day and I also have a hunch most people here are flat chat and likely would prefer to click a few buttons rather than have to speak with us on the phone!

Thanks for your continued support of the OzBargain community, team. You guys are awesome

So is Aldi & their coffee beans. I'm buying the Colombia 1kg for $18.99 soon, winning.

      • +3

$12 one is fine. Can't taste the difference much when you make a latte

      • Would you mind posting your brewing method for the Aldi beans ? Many of my mates recommended it but I could never brew a good cup out of it. I am more of aeropress / clever dripper black coffee kinda person.

I use them in a Breville espresso machine & have with milk.

Initially I was like "ooohh free coffee for my wfh business" - but after actually reading the comments and finding out this mob are actually pretty good, I might use some influence at work to at least give them a trial run on the office automatic coffee machine.

  • +2

I've had nothing but fresh, delicious coffee from these guys, just put through an order through yesterday for their new lower caffeine blend deal. I'm negging this "deal" because it's not really a deal for this forum. Like a lot of regular OzBargainers, I would hate to see what is essentially a marketing exercise get taken advantage of. Glad to see that most of us feel the same way.

  • Like others here, I'm a regular purchaser of Lime Blue coffee with OZB deals, and I also have a business with a physical address.

And like everyone else says - they're an awesome company, let's not take advantage. As much as I love freebies, this is one deal I won't be grabbing.

  • -1

What a crap offer! they limit their scope, shitty business decisions. Clearly small boutique operator trying to grow by a couple of thousand a month. ALDI Coffee all the way as most of these business coffee deals are average tasting…. Lime coffee move on

    • Please say sike…

  • -1

Ok I saw this in my feed and signed up, no sign of free coffee.. 🤬

  • Negging as it's encouraging ppl to take advantage of a great small business. This kind of ‘offer’ doesn’t belong here.

    • It's a scam unfortunately :(

  • Recommended to my company and this certainly feels like a scam, I know how LimeBlue is loved by ozbargainers and so many good comments about them.

But this deal was posted on 06/07 and there were 34 bags, as of today on the website it still sayings "WE’VE ONLY GOT 34 BAGS LEFT IN JULY!".

Then when you get the email from them, they say they tried to call (They did not) and there are no more bags available in July LOL, so at the end they're just taking all the personal and business information.

    • Hey @cowboydev I hear your frustration and understand frustration at times can translate to selective interpretation of facts as you can just focus on the bits you find frustrating and miss the rest of the information. However, don't worry if you're too flat chat to edit your interpretation to convey the full picture to the Community I'm happy to help :)

First, we did not post this deal on Oz Bargain. As I mentioned above we did not post it not because we wanted Oz Bargainers to miss out, but because this offer is not yet ready for Oz Bargain. It needs more testing and edits before it is Oz Bargain worthy, which before this post was being done in a more controlled environment where we could limit the traffic flow.

Second, you'll notice a clear visual difference between our site and the link in this post. The site I personally built and manage. The page link in this post is far beyond my site building skills and so was built externally; this means I can not make instant changes to it, I requested a change the other day and am still waiting for it to be actioned.

Third, as it appears if the heat of the moment you missed a few parts of that section of the email you've referred to, for ease of reference here's is the unedited sentence "If you're getting this email then we've either spoken to you, had a tricky time getting a hold of you on the phone, already reached the 200 free bag allotment by the time you sent your submission or part of the details you sent us were incomplete or incorrect in line with the T&Cs of the offer" Later in the email it also said "Tech glitches can unfortunately happen sometimes, so if you don't think this email is meant for you, please simply send us a reply email."

Fourth, the initial allotment was for 200 free bags, as of right now 2,641 people have clicked the link in this offer which means if less than 10% went for the free bag that alone would tap out all of July. This does not even account for the fact we were already close to a week into July before the post here, so people not on Oz Bargain had already been in touch about the free bag before the post went live here

Fifth, it appears you somehow may have missed the primary purpose of the email, which was to offer you 500g for free even though the allotment had been allocated. It would have been super easy to simply send an email saying "sorry you missed out," but instead I've cut my salary for July, dug deep and increased the July offering by more than half a ton in addition to the allotment simply to try and not have people empty handed from a post of an offer that is not yet good enough to be posted here. We're a very small company, so we don't have huge piles of cash to just add an extra half ton+ to give away and ship for free, from our financial perspective this addition to the original allotment is a tremendous additional expense. I'm not looking for a thank you or for you to change your opinion. I'm just trying to convey that I've done the best I can with the surprise hand of card I've been dealt. I'll be the first to admit I'm far from perfect, so I'm sure like yourself others won't be happy with me, but all I can do is my best and try to get better each day!

      • @LimeBlueCoffee I received the email you mention and let me assure you that it made my day. What an awesome response!

I very much appreciate how you handled the cat getting out of the bag and cleaned up after the elephant in a China shop.

I filled in the first form "leaked" here and I did read the terms. I was satisfied that I would meet your criteria. I also realised that I would not be the ideal lucrative customer that orders tens of kg every week and tried to convey that in the comment section. After you posted here about this being a trial intended for a soft-start, I was not expecting to receive the follow up offer in an email. Again, I did read the email in full and went ahead with the offer because I tick all the boxes in the offer, I like good coffee and am always on the lookout for a great blend that is roasted the right way and inexpensive (but not cheap to the point of compromising on the quality).

Up until this series of events, LimeBlue was not on my radar as a potential supplier of coffee. That has now changed.

I look forward to trying out the free sample and if the product hits the right buttons for me I'll become a regular customer and mailing list subscriber. Maybe even a fanboi here on OzBargain (is there a badge for that?) ;-)

I find that many small coffee businesses are there mainly for the passion of sharing great coffee and will often make decisions that are opposite of what a shareholder driven business would do. I thank you for that and for the level of transparency.

        Again, Thank You @LimeBlueCoffee
