Seriously, check council clean ups.
I saw one recently that looked new. Thought it would make a useful backup battery for my V6. Pressed the trigger and it ran, wtf? Took it home, and checked; there was a slight clog that was visible, 2 minutes to clear it and it ran like new.
Now I have another problem… my wife wants me to donate one to Vinnies - why do we need two?

Just my 2 cents - if v6 was sufficient in meeting ur expectations then probably v8 would be enough. But if you can spend more, get the latest version!

We actually just use the carpet head all the time, including on hard floors, does the job fine and haven't needed to ever switch.

Yeah, definitely. It does work, just super loud and not that well.
you can use the included brush head on hard floors just fine, and it many situations its better than the fluffy head
Can anyone suggest where to buy extra battery for this? My previous V4 battery started playing up. So won't to extend life of this V8 with backup battery.

Yep, my old Dyson is still working but the battery now lasts only for 30 secs on max, batteries for that model are not made anymore. I was about to throw it away, until I came across an Ozito adapter for that Dyson model on eBay. Why I chose Ozito adaper? Because their batteries are cheap. Now my Dyson is back on the job as good as before.
I bought the 3000mAh V8 battery from lanplus and I swear it lasts longer than the original battery did.

There is "Dyson V8 Origin Extra Cordless Vacuum" (not sure if it is similar) for 397 at the good guys & other stores, which is a good price. But if it is similar, then can price match to use 10% discount on top.
Need a new vacuum. My V6 has finally died. Has anyone had. Shark compared to Dyson and can recommend? Thanks
