Usual disclaimer that these are crazy expensive to run.
2kw ~ 60c/hour to run (currently).Using it for a full day of heating is awful, and you'll be better off getting a split system or even wall unit installed.
Paying $1000 for a Dyson version doesn't make it heat any better or use less electricity, all these electric heaters are the same. Putting that money towards heat pump system is way cheaper and better like you said.
I just mean a safer branded one like DeLonghi, kelvinator, etc.
But yeah reverse cycle is the way to go for sure.
