I paid $439 at JB for these 8 months ago they are Ace top shelf worth every dollar
Just a consideration for some who may be considering this deal - I researched then bought these new in October last year. They are very good and I don't regret the purchase.
Sound quality was top of my priority list; cordless convenience was next; then active noise cancellation - nice but not essential.
I've since become interested in chifi IEMs, and the sound quality from much cheaper IEMs in my opinion is superior to the Sonys. I've also found that I'm reluctant to wear the Sonys where I might risk dropping and losing them, whereas wearing corded IEMs that are less than $50 (eg. Moondrop Chu2 for ~$40 from AliExpress) is much less a risk.
My advice would be if you are after primo SQ consider IEMs - you will be amazed by the bang for buck. As a side note, you will need a USB C to 3.5mm dongle to connect to many current phones - these are readily available from under $20 for something decent.Yeah then you start looking into DACs and amps and then come full circle for the convenience lol
No offence but this isn't some new revelation, comments such as yours have been made since the dawn of time. Until bluetooth has some massive technical advancement wired will always be superior sound quality wise (and much cheaper).
It's all about the convenience. it was one thing to have wired earphones, now you have to have a usb-c cable extension too. Nobody wants to carry around a cable.
