KFC marketing team has done well for most people to understand this reference lol

        • +1

          You mean the customer service

      • +11

        ….i luv it! :-))

Finnaly come back to normal price used to be this price few months afo before they suddenly put the price $1 higher each month

  • +6

Gained a couple of kilos in anticipation reading this post

    • +3

Don't worry about gaining a couple of kilos. The last time I bought with the 20% discount, the pieces looks like they come from little chics than chickens.

  • +5

Another one after the 15pcs wings for $10?

We could end up like him: https://www.news.com.au/lifestyle/food/food-vlogger-dies-aft…

    • +1

      Masa bodoh :P
He did it for the video …
Nobody says to finish all the chicken in one meal. If people eat chicken with rice, 3 or 4 pieces should be enough. The rest can be kept in the fridge and reheat for the next meal with rice … + ABC original chilli sauce is the best for me 😋

    • +9

4 Large sides can be chips :)

      • +1

I would love a double quarter pounder Zinger burger.

        • +1

Haha was thinking of that yesterday. Might be alright - i work for both kfc and maccas

          • @Quarter Pounder: Waitttt Wowie the 2x part time worker? Lol

          • @Quarter Pounder: Didn't maccas say in your job contract you cannot work for a competitor 😂

            • +1

@AndrewMTG: Nope, just to notify them if i accept a job offer at a competitor, which i have during the interview🤣

              • @Quarter Pounder: Ohh lols…

How many hours you work at each , each wk?

                • @AndrewMTG: depends because im casual at kfc, and part time at maccas. but mostly 1-2 5 hr shifts at each

                  • @Quarter Pounder: Fair enough, looks good.

Are you gettin junior rates or u above 21?

                    • +3

@AndrewMTG: JR rates since im 15, but got a payrise of 3.5% at each from the 1st

                      • +1

                        @Quarter Pounder: Haha ooft yeah…

When I worked Hungry Jacks, there was this 15 y/o part time ct. guy workin 12 hour shifts illegally or something 😂💀…

all for the measly $11/hr or whatever it is… Idk why he did that when he needs to travel like 2 hours to work as well.

But yeah keep it going, 5hr shifts here and there is good experince, both places at obce, double the experience aye haha.

You gotta add Hungry Jack's now for the trifecta 😂

                        • +3

                          @AndrewMTG:

You gotta add Hungry Jack's now for the trifecta

I applied there 2 weeks ago lol, staff discount at all 3

5hr shifts here and there is good experince

Yeah its pretty nice, good for the resume i guess for now. Planning on finding a better job next year though.

                          • @Quarter Pounder: Yeah honestly i haven't had much in anything besides fast food so far.

I'd wanna get KFC to complete the trifecta haha

                            • @AndrewMTG: Do you currently work at maccas? it’d be similar enough depending on what you do

                              • @Quarter Pounder: I did a few months back haha.

I've seen the back (like while ordering) there's a few different 'back of house' roles at kfc no? cuz one person cooks the chicken and does breading or something w the flour or whatver yall call it

                                • +3

@AndrewMTG: At kfc, theres BOH, a person by procedure, there should be a ‘green’ and red cook. Red cook handles raw products, and coats then in flour. Green cook handles cooked products, taking chicken out of the fryer, bacon etc.

MOH is burgers/dropping frozen products, chips, popcorn chicken and nuggets and stock (potato and gravy).

FOH is packing orders, handing out, handling transactions

                  • +2

@Quarter Pounder: I'm not surprised you have more than 1 job, as casual workers in this modern day and age often need 2 or 3 jobs.

15yo and working multiple jobs, I'm sure you'll have a good future due to your efforts and experiences.

                    Well done Double Pounder.

      • What are the large side options.

        • +2

          Large chips
          Large P&G
          Large coleslaw
          Reg gravy
          4 dinner rolls
          1.25 softdrink

    • +3

      Yes it does.

      4 x Large Sides

      You can choose.

    • +4

Cheap AS Chips doesn't imply it comes with chips.

    • +1

It doesn't say it contains chips. It says it's "cheap as chips", referring to the price.

  • +9
    • It makes no difference to me but can we order this then without the app?

      • +2

No, staff will redirect you to the app - i think its incase the app crashes

  • +3

Hopefully they learnt something from the great wing debacle of 2024 and stock up.

    • +2

Didn't the same thing happen last year?

  • -2

Who is paying $20 for chips?

    • Won't be long till they're $20 every other week at Colesworth.

  • +3

The KFC large chip backet is not only laughably small now, but they don't even fill them up.

you get a literal small handful of chips in a large.

    • +4

      Should be minimum 200G

      • +1

How about the tiny chicken wings? minimum 200g?

        • +4

last time I got two very tiny wings, and I told them before I left, so they gave me a couple of strips to make up for it (the chicken was still cooking, so quicker to give the strips) That was a satisfactory solution. Just always check before you leave, and tell them.

          • @souths123: Can always call instead if you're already back home, several of my wicked wings were once again tiny in the 15 for $10 deal (it's at least partly because they haven't been double breaded) so I got a replacement of the order.

Although tonight the girl on the phone refused to replace a zinger burger that had a half size zinger because "they can't control the sizes that come in and have to sell them", first time I've been given that response.

    • -4

They haven't changed the size for a few years.

      • +2

they shrunk during covid…only about 2/3 of the size box they used to be

    • +2

Take them back and ask if they can fill them up, I've never been told no, but only done it a couple of times.

    • They were told not to fill them up at this store:

      https://www.reddit.com/r/australia/comments/1dd63km/getting_…

      • +4

Thats every fast food store. Squeeze the box in the middle, lightly fill the chips in hot so they sit in the middle of the box and dont fall down to the bottom. The heat from the fresh chips helps keep the air warm to keep the chips in that mid point. Then serve as quickly as possible. If you let the chips sit there and cool down, they kinda just sink/fall to the bottom of the box. Potentially as you collect it from the counter, you could firmly tap the chip box to make the chips drop down and then just show them straight away the box is half empty and to fill it up.

  • -1

Isn't the normal price $24.95? At least it is at my local. Doesn't seem much of a deal.

    • -1

yes, but I am going to get it anyway lol

  • +3

My favorite place Dulwich Hills KFC stop making Hot n Spicy which put me off buying kfc for sometimes.

    • Try eating with ABC original chilli sauce from supermarket :P

  • +4

ahhh. I remember the old days when chips were cheap.
A time kids could freely ride to the local shops because there was no such thing as helicopter parents, bad drivers, and before those dorky yellow crash helmets became mandatory.
$2 would get you a paper bag so big that you and six friends could all share and still have leftovers…
    sigh. I miss the 80s and 90s

    • +1

Lol, Helicopter parents, first concert I saw was Iron Maiden when I was 13, my sister wouldn't let her 18yo son see Weird Al without her going aswel, wtf.

      • +1

I would have loved to see iron maiden, but I was busy emptying gunpowder out of the rounds of my dads 308 lever action winchester and making explosive oranges for my next boyscouts skirmish.

    • +3

I recall being able to buy random amounts too.
Another friend chips in 50c and you'd buy $2.50 worth of hot chips.

    • I used to do this back in the early 2000s too. Good old days

  • I never get chips with my Cheap as Chips meal.
Always 2 Coleslaw and 2 Potato and Gravy.
Most of the time, I get 8 smaller P&G's.

    • +2

They were probably out of large p&g cups. 4 small p&g is roughly equivalent, 1 less scoop of potato, but more gravy

  • I remember when it was that price on the back of Coles receipts!

  • +4

Ive put on 4kgs this week, and somehow my wife, who ate the same as me, has LOST 2KG!?!? HOW?!

    • +1

Need to do FASTING to lose weight, eat less, less sitting, more physical activities or exercise and enough sleep.

For me, my weight is usually stay the same no matter if I eat a lot. It's because I don't sit down all day, walking and taking public transport.

      • +2

My version of FASTING is getting myself to kfc FAST when I see deals this good

        • It's called BRISK Walking … Walk faster :P Most people don't even reach 10k steps a day …

  • +2

Cheap as chips on my birthday is convenient

    • Birthday dinner sorted 😉

  • $27.95 for Cheap as Chips at my local at the moment.
Expecting further price rises soon enough

    • The fat corporate pigs don't agree with your name.

    • +1

For some reason kfc prices go up when the store is close, it will drop back down when it opens.

      • +1

$27.95 is the regular everyday normal store open price….

….$29.65 is tonight store closed price

        • My condolences

        • -1

What's tonight store close price mean?

          • +1

@capslock janitor: No idea why, but prices on the app go up by a couple dollars when store is closed….for some reason

  • Just checking that these deals are different ones every day? The cheap as chips one is only Mon July 8th?

  • +1

Reminder that $2 large chips is still available on the app! Therefore it is not good value to pick large chips from today's Cheap as Chips deal unless you really really really want it but don't want to pay the extra $2.

  • I can't have this today and the deal tomorrow as well.
Going to have to sit this one out.
I've been good, I haven't touched a single KFC deal all month!

  • +1

Yeah I just randomly saw this and logged into kfc app - showed only available today so lunch sorted 😅

  • Good deal but I'm gonna sit this one out, too much KFC this past week…..

  • +1

And the $10 original recipes tomorrow too… I can’t take this much KFC…

  • Wasn’t $20 the normal everyday price only a few years ago

    • +1

a lot of stuff was cheaper a few years ago…

      • Wasn't everything though?

  • whats the RRp ?

  • Regular chips not showing $1

    • +1

      LOL good one

  • Is there a code or coupon. My app shows $24.95?
