11 and 12 July just broke my calorie counter app.

    Any deals on mens belts?

    • +10

Used electrical cord is my new belt of choice, I find the 5m ones work well and you can just unplug when you want to remove.

      • +8

        Ok Jimbo Jones.

        • +5

Hey, dude, he's ragging on your cord.

    • Elastic straps

  • +12

Honestly, the snack pack is usually the best value for money because no KFC knows how to make it and they end up giving you a much larger portion. It's not even 9am and I'm hungry…

    • +6

      Damn son

      • +6

You sound exactly like my father.

    • +2

Yeah, but I have a bad feeling that by having it on the Christmas in July promo (and not the secret menu) they are likely to get a lot more orders and so stores will be brought up to speed on how it is intended to be made.

      • That's actually a good point, they might have proper instructions on how to make it, not like in the past where they ask me in drive-thru what's on the snack pack haha

I have a love/hate relationship with KFC. I love KFC hod rods and I hate that they're limited edition and never available

    • Hate is just love persevering.

    • +3

Hated them tbh, they were just offcuts junk covered in spicy weird stuff, not even hot and spicy mix, was something different

Whoop whoop - KFC's first time $9.95 deal in so long!

  • These deals not available online only thru the KFC App.

    • Not?

      • Missing a . Or , after online.
        It's available only via app.

  • I asked for 21 pieces with only thigh and drumsticks. Ended up with 20 breast and 1 thigh and 1 drumstick. Happens every time. Banned them for life

  • Is the Kentucky SnackPack the same as the Giant Snack Pack?

  • "One redemption per customer".
I was able to edit quantities(2of) on the wing deal but not on the $12 Double Zinger Feast.

    • Wing deal I think was an anomalous error, I was able to edit as well on one accnt but couldn't replicate it on a different accnt and device.

If you want more than 1, it can be done by accessing the same accnt on multiple devices(samsung users can use secure folder) and adding to cart but not paying straight away, it will be seperate orders though.

Can anyone comment on the size of the snack pack they're getting? Wondering if the portion size is worth $4?

  • +1

How much is the snack pack "normally"?

  • Yikes, the new KFC Balwyn opened at the wrong time, their new and inexperienced staff are all going to be quitting after the 11th.

    • +1

      Oh why are they quitting?

I must admit though friendly, the staff are very inexperienced. I have ordered chips 4 different times from Balwyn, every time except the 4th time there was NO salt on their chips. I had to insist on extra salt and watch them to get salt the 4th time. Pretty poor form!

I have noticed the restaurant is usually pretty dirty too.

Once I went there at about 6pm, no power in the store they could only do cash and sell what they had already cooked which was starting to get cold….

No really impressed with this store at all, but I am hoping they get their act together.

      • if its still like this, rocc will probably deviate them.

        • Rocc?

          • @Misha Bakunin: Restaurant Operations compliance check, they’re in season for checking the restaurant’s currently

            • @Quarter Pounder: Ahh I see. They would get a horrible review from them.

KFC Balwyn has only been open about a month or so though.

Honestly shockingly bad restaurant, I actually drive 10 minutes further to go to KFC Kew which tells you something.

I didn't even mention other issues I've had with Balwyn, for one example no sauce or salt in the "snack pack" recent deal.

However they are very new, does that mean they get a break?

What does it mean "deviate them"?

              • +1

                @Misha Bakunin:

However they are very new, does that mean they get a break?

No, normally ROCC will come within 2 months of a new store opening.

What does it mean "deviate them"?

There are 3 levels of deviations, a minor deviation would be a level 1, such as forgetting to use hand sanitiser after washing hands, or packing an order incorrectly. Not Salting chips would probably result in a level 1 deviation. If the staff are not doing stuff like that, i suspect behind the scenes theres other stuff they’re not doing.

                • @Quarter Pounder: Interesting, thanks.

It's much worse than them not salting chips there (also usually they are undercooked). I didn't give all examples, I won't waste your time but to put it quickly, ignoring other issues, only once out of 7 times did they get my order just right.

Honestly, I love KFC normally, and this one is so close to me, but I hope they close… they give KFC a really bad name. I know someone who said they will never eat KFC again after eating there…

                  I'm not the only one.

                  Can the rocc close them?

                  • +2

                    @Misha Bakunin:

                    Can the rocc close them?

Yes, rocc can instantly fail the store if they see something bad. The store will have to shut for how long it takes to resolve the issue, then they’ll follow up in a few weeks.

  • Is the snack pack any good?

    • +1

Just had it. It's ok for the price. It really depends on the location. Some locations they fill it up to the top, mine was half empty.

      • +1

Do you mean half full ?

        • Nah, it was half empty. I would say half full if it was above half. But it was less than half. So half empty.

    • +1

Mine was also half empty, it was okay for $4 but you don't get a lot of anything…

      • +1

        Half full, my friend.

  • 9 for 9.95 was a regrettable decision.

It was like the chicken was cooked in year-old oil.
    Very dark, slightly burnt flavour.

Hopefully other people have a better experience.

    Edit: @Charlestown Food Court

    • Maybe new less experienced or lazy staff there that you're unlucky to get chicken cooked with old oil. The oil should have been changed yesterday before closing. Or maybe cooked too long.

I just had it. It's good. I am in Sydney City.

    • +5

Ever since I bought an air fryer, KFC chicken pieces just don't measure up to the Southern Fried chicken I get from Coles and Aldi. 28 minutes from the meat section or longer from the freezer.

      • Amen to that

      • oooh thanks for the info. definitely gonna give this one a shot

      • -1

Thanks, info helps sooth the fomo.

        • -1

Score!… an OzB downvote, they're always sooo validating,

  • Anyone else having trouble ordering the 9 pieces? When I click the banner the offer disappears

  • Ordered the 9 piece today and they only gave me 6 :(

looks like they were confused when i also got the 6 hot and spicy

  • 9 pieces 9 dollars are back !!

  • What happen to 10 July?

    • 10 of July it's just 30% off Merch.

  • Waited 30 mins for my order with todays deal.
The girl serving me through drive thru was giggling with her colleages in the background.

Saw everyone else get their order in the carpark, went and walked in to the store and they forgot about my order. Told me another 7 minute wait and couldnt care less. No apology or anything, just run my immature young staff thinking it was a hangout.

    • Sounds like my local. (profanity) useless bunch of kids.

  • Bought the 9pc Original Recipe Chicken for $9.95. No one else in-store but the drive thru had a few cars. Truly fast food.
    3 thigh, 2 ribs, 1 drumstick, 3 wings, decent.
Wonder if we'll ever see this deal again, which is cheaper than the heyday due to inflation.

    • Available again 16 of July

    • Kfc is making a roughly 60% loss on this deal

      • +2

Really? I am not so sure. Do you have access to some data? I can't imagine 9 piecees of raw chicken and spices and flour, oil costing $15+ to produce. Not at the volume they procure those goods anyway.

But they also lose a market segment of full price item paying customers where they become peeved off at the slow service and swear to never visit again.

Just noticed you are employee. Can you please give the feedback to mgmt! Also we need ability to cancel order in the app!

        • +1

Nobody in a business knows what the real cost or profit of product is anymore. There's that much extreme creative accounting, cost redirection, dodgy overheads, kickbacks etc etc.

        • A company when they put a price on food they consider a number of factors
e.g. Price of ingredients (chicken, oil, etc), salaries, rent, utilities like electricity and probably other things that we don't know.

I think these are great deals by KFC but the execution it's not that great. It's fast food and people want their food fast, not in 40 minutes.
Obviously they need more staff and more experienced staff. Also an estimate of when your order would be ready before ordering. You might rather don't bother ordering if it's a long wait.

          • @Scrooge McDeal: This depends on the capacity of the store - my current store only has 2 8 head pressure cookers, and an 8 head takes 13mins to cook. Add in preheat and prep time and you’re looking at 20 mins for 72 pieces of chicken.

      • So what's their break even cost for this deal $16?

    • +1

      I weighed the box, 985g

  • 100 people in front of me it seems and i thought i was smart putting in pickup order 10 minutes before i got here

Edit: after 30 minutes I still haven't made it onto the order board

    • -1

You have to go up and complain. They may bump yours up. My order didn't even have chicken pieces and I was supposedly after 50+ orders, so the team leader took 30 seconds to fill my order after I stood around patiently for 25min.

My burger was luke warm by the time I got it 25min after ordering.

If you start to act irate and ask to cancel they will just fill your order for you.

      • It's alright, i complained last visit as it was also just zingers and chips. Most of the orders here seem to be for this particular deal given the box they are using. Im at least on the order board now (45 mins).

        • +1

65 minutes to receive the box of chicken and 15 minutes to eat the entire box. I even had a gameplan to save half for tomorrow :(.

  • +1

Great for promotion but what about orders that isn't even for the promotional items. They should prioritise those orders.

A lady's order was 45min and she also didn't have chicken pieces! Imagine the dis-satisfaction level of 'full price item customers'.

The app can't let you cancel order as well!

Terrible way to run a promotion. Satisfy the customers that obviously is buying ONLY because it's cheap and giving other customers that is paying full price worse service.

    • I agree. I just saw someone walk up to get a burger and they were waiting at least 30 minutes.

      • +2

My burger was very luke warm with soggy buns and lettuce, it sat there for a good 20 minutes obviously. Chips was more meh than usual as well, Luke warm and dry (at least they didn't have time to over-salt the chips). Can't wait till I get that 'rate us' survey.

  • Bought the 9pc Original Recipe Chicken for $9.95 last night.
Only 8pc in the box ……. It's very difficult to get the number right at KFC most of the time.

    • +1

Tell them and they'd make it right. Kfc customer service is fantastic (most of the time)

  • How's the lines looking for the burger feast deal?

    • Was normal size

      • Not a single person at my local drive thru but this was around 2pm
