    Who is considered a new sign up? I was with them over 12 months ago.

    • Cashback is eligible on new EnergyAustralia accounts only including existing EnergyAustralia customers moving into new premises and you must sign up to gas &/or electricity plans via Cashrewards by clicking the 'Shop Now' button from this page.

      Cashback is issued by Cashrewards, not EnergyAustralia. It may take up to 14 days to track into your Cashrewards account, and may take up to 180 days to be confirmed by EnergyAustralia.

      Cashback is ineligible on the following:

      Switching plans for the same premises.
      Returning EA customers for the same premises;
      New connections (i.e. no meter installed);
      Commercial / Business meters;
      Sign ups on behalf of other individuals;
      Clicking via the Econnex.com.au.
      Purchase of gift cards or use of gift cards for full or partial payment.
      Purchases using coupon codes not listed on Cashrewards.
      Items that are cancelled, returned, exchanged or refunded.
      GST, other taxes and delivery fees.
      Fraudulent transactions.
      Purchases using any type of discount which lowers price advertised on the Merchant site, including but not limited to employee discounts, student discounts and price-matching.

    Left Energy Australia over a decade ago, never did I think I'd read,

    Rates are good compared to many providers

    in relation to them.

      I've been on Globird for ages, I just had a 15c per kwh price hike on peak. Suddenly everyone is cheaper than them. It might just be EA has decided it's a good time to win up a few customers. They make money on both ends anyway (supply and retail).

      EA were also smacked down by the ACCC for pricing, they might be trying to win some good will back too - https://www.afr.com/companies/energy/energyaustralia-failed-…

    Approved in up to 180 days

    So stay with them for 6 months just to get $270??

    Not worth it, rather swap every 45-60 days once promo credits are used up.

    • is there anyone better, i just renewed on the flexi plan as that seemed the cheapest for my area.

        $225 Electricity Credit & $225 Gas Credit on AGL Value Saver Plan

        • For me their gas rate is better but electricity is worse. In saying that wot their promo it might still work out better

        • Thats a good promo I got the Westpac 100$ visa card and $200 for energy and gas. Have to stay with them for 90days as well I think to get the visa card.

        Yeah I moved to agl last week to get the $200 promo. Will see who to churn after I’ve done the credit 😅

        • Me too woohoo churn club. I'll prob go back to Origin.

          • @slankets: Origin now have a 12 month wait between bonus eligibility.

    • Do you need to stay for 180 days?

      Just because it pays in 180 days, doesn't necessarily mean you need to be with them when it does.

      • Cashback is issued by Cashrewards, not EnergyAustralia. It may take up to 14 days to track into your Cashrewards account, and may take up to 180 days to be confirmed by EnergyAustralia.

        I'm betting EA will take their sweet time confirming the cash back.

    No chance I’m waiting 180 days

  • One thing I'd consider first, especially if you have solar, is their app sucks for keeping you up to date with spending / saving. It doesn't tell me until my bill comes how much I earned with solar tariffs. Compared to other companies that give me daily breakdowns, this is a big reason I am switching from them. For gas though, it's fine.

    • I was with energy Australia before and apart from the 2-3 day delay to the app for stats , the app does show the usage and feed in so not sure why you had the issue

      • It does show the usage, on a delay like you stated, however, doesn't give me a dollaridoo amount just the kWh fed in

  • Transferred the M in L to Energy Australia and got no response. Turns out something wrong with the email address we supplied. Have rung 3 times and email address the CSR has IS correct, but still no emails.

    Problem is that all the CSR's spoken to are not local and its hard to understand them or they me.

    While I joined and no issues.

    So if things go wrong, good luck you are pretty much on your own. Dealing with them and cashback is going to complicate things

    The offer we got was $200 credit off the bill. (expired Jun30)

  • Not super good for me… $0.8637 per day supply charge, whereas Dodo Gas is only charging 25c per day (with similar usage rates — only difference being dodo is 0.4c more expensive per mj on Step 3 charges above 65mj a day). As a low gas user the Dodo plan is vastly better.

  • signed up in april and still not transferred

    • Gas? Can take months

  • what happens if you transfer and live in QLD and have that $1,000 credit from the government with the old provider?

    • I've asked this before to a provider and they said it moves with you. Definitely worth double checking just to be sure, but when I asked they told me the credit (federal and state) is linked to you and not the power company, so when you move providers the new provider accesses that credit and uses that instead.

  • Powershop is better
    You get $200 from Powershop and $171 from Shopback in approx 100 days

    • How did you get $200 from powershop, i dont see any option or mention

      • Actually shopback powershop link redirects me to econnex, which doesn't compare powershop

    having to wait up to 180 days is the dealbreaker for me.

    • yeah surprised to see it take that long for cashback to come through

  • I was with them on a commercial property in Brisbane, last bill I opened was 40c kw/h, swapped to AGL at close to 30c….
