  • Sorry Danilochan, but Im going to have to vote negative on this for the fact that every IT system that I can see seemed to suffer from a weekend price hike to 'cater' for the $5 shipping. Its outrageous to have the following system adevertised for over a month (http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/8001) at $299 with $75 shipping suddenly turn to back to $399 with $5 shipping.

Might be a good deal for some but a big negative from me.

Heres the direct link with the $5 shipping:

    • (http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/8001) at $299 with $75 shipping is expired on 28/11/2008. You may try to look for the others items. By searching www.staticice.com.au or www.shopbot.com.au, you mush able to get the IT bargains from this promotion.

      • Understand Danilochan - and shopping square is still relatively cheap and saves me the problem of lining up for 30 mins in MSY for something a few $$$ cheaper. But …. at the end of the day the bargain I was hunting for is just not there.

    • This is very bad practice.

      • Try to jack it up & though we don't know about it…

  • was looking at an LCD 21" with free tuner just hours before and prices jumped by over $80 when this $5 shipping kicked in.

  • Just did a test and it seems $5 postage for the first item and $2.50 postage for every extra item. Could be handy on some bulkier items.

  • Can they legally do this?

  • Yes they probably can given the claim for the sale is $5 postage.

If they had said something like $5 postage in addition to our normal bargain prices then they would be in trouble.

Either way is poor practice and these guys go on my "do not buy" from list

its legally gray, but morally black and white (wrong)

  • Do not like

  • Guys, this post should remain on the front page of OzBargain so all members should see their bad practice. This post should make it to OzBargain "Hall of Shame" along with DELL and COTD :P

    Scotty, that's an idea!!

Allow me to give it a sarcastic "positive" vote so it remains up on the front page.

  • I received an email about this offer at 2.25am this morning - even though the deal has ended. Thought it was odd that the EEEPC was on it as I had looked at them on the site the other day and they weren't in stock (said 'coming soon' I think). Well today it's back in stock - with $49 shipping.
