This isn’t the New Ergohuman 2 btw.

    • Yes, still I think this is a good deal for this model, and it hasn't been below $599 since 2020.

I've been using a gaming chair I got for around $80, 5 years ago so this will be a significant upgrade.

Looking at the photos in the listings and the latest reviews with images attached, it looks like a match for the Ergohuman 2 ultra mesh.

      https://www.ergohuman.com.au/ergonomic-office-chairs/ergohum…

Seems like the listing perhaps never had the title updated on the templeandwebster site and the listing is for the Ergohuman 2 ultra mesh rather than the older Ergohuman V2 elite.

        Update

Got my chair today, box is marked Ergohuman ultra V4 mesh, the assembled chair matches 1:1 with the images on Ergohumans website for the Ergohuman 2 ultra mesh linked in my original reply above.

  • I am confused, is this the same chair reviewed by BTOD TV? https://youtu.be/DNrsMmUQhSU?si=tjF3Um_rNpnKK60d

    • I don't think so. Gen2 I think refers to Ergohuman 2 rather than the V2.
As per the Ergohuman website. https://www.ergohuman.com.au/ergohuman-2-office-chair/
NEW RELEASE!! The new Ergohuman 2 Office Chair is the first re-design of the Ergohuman Ergonomic Chair in over 10 years and supersedes the old models known as the Ergohuman Classic V1 and Elite V2. It’s a case of evolution rather than revolution, building on the strengths of the existing Chair to bring it up to date with the latest thinking in ergonomic chair design.

Please note that the Ergohuman V1, V2 and V3 are obsolete models. They are not the Ergohuman 2 which is the new generation of Ergohuman Chairs.

Have had mine since 2018 and love it. After years of use is still in as new condition. Would recommend.

    • I've had mine since mid-2017, and everything is still going strong except for one of the arms, which has dropped and can't be screwed back on.

  • $137.95 Shipping to Perth

  • Is this really worth $569? Is there anything near equivalent below this price point?

These chairs have very good consistent reviews. There are plenty of comparisons to Herman Miller chairs, in that they are as comfortable etc but at a better price.
This is around the amount I wanted to spend. I did consider a Secretlab TITAN Evo Lite for $649 but have read a few mixed reviews on Secretlab chairs.
Here is another one I considered at a lower price point $349 (without headrest) https://www.newoffice.com.au/products/luminous-mesh-chair?va…
Officeworks has the same chair At $449 https://www.officeworks.com.au/shop/officeworks/p/rapidline-…

As @witheredcouch mentioned, their chair is 6 years old and going strong so I am hoping I will be very happy with my decision.

I have a similar one ($250) to this at home. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/736265

HM areon is definitely more comfy I have one at work but I found the seatback is too far back and the lean forward position is a bit awkward. Discussed here: https://www.reddit.com/r/OfficeChairs/comments/13jc10h/aeron…

Nothing is perfect despite the price tag for HM. You must give it a try then work it out. I would say grab the Costco one when it's on sale again, for peace of mind you can always return it. @Nathony

Thanks, I think I'll wait for something like that Costco one to go on sale. For almost a third of the price I can't imagine that it's a third of the quality.

    • Depends on your back. I used to have lower back pain on other chairs i have tried.
But after this, i havent had any issues yet. Its been 3 years and for me and it is worth it.

    • I would say definitely. I paid around $500 6 years ago and it is great. I have used Aerons at work and prefer this in every way. What I would say is that it is more suited to taller, narrower people, as even at minimum height its not that low. Not an issue for me but I had a partner who found it a bit too high.

It's hard to navigate in the office chair jungle but this is similar for $179

Artiss Ergonomic Office Chair, Mesh Computer Desk Chairs with Tilt Adjustment and Adjustable Seat Height, with Headrest, Backrest, High Back and 360°Swivel Seating Grey for Gaming Room Executive Home https://amzn.asia/d/05MqRXG0

    • Artiss is no comparison to Ergohuman…

  • The purchase protection looks like it might actually be worth the extra $5.95

    • 100 day change of mind return (instead of 30)
    • Proper refund instead of store credit

Return shipping costs are still on the buyer.

  • A friend has had one of these for around 5 years and can confirm it is very comfy as I tried it many times. But I ended up buying the Ergoking brand when I saw it on sale ($250ish) at Costco which is pretty much identical….

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/736265

    • The ergoking looks a lot more plastic? The construction of the Ergohuman is mostly metal?

      • That’s why I didn’t say they are absolutely identical. If you would like to pay more than double to get metal, go for it.

        • My concern is more whether the plastic one will be as durable. My 6 year old Ergohuman is as new, would an Ergoking be as durable? Only time will tell I guess, if it is, then sure, great deal! But if it only lasts a few years, then maybe not.

For me, the $500 I spent on a chair that it seems like I may never have to replace is a pretty good deal.

          • @witheredcouch: Durability is indeed important but for chairs like this are reasonably well made (not from nasty plastic), I have never seen anyone have construction damage from normal use, not to mention the $2000 Herman Miller I have at work is also plastic. I would say metal is more of a hype or aesthetic thing rather than durability.

And you can always return it to Costco if you dont like it or if anything is wrong.

  • I own this chair and can confirm its worth the spend. Ive been using it since 2021 and its still serving me well

  • Don't know if they upgraded or rebranded it, but it looks exactly like the Ergotune I bought 2 years ago.

That chair is really comfortable for long WFH or gaming hours, makes sure I keep a proper sitting posture. Strongly recommend it.

    • This has had this name since at least 2018 when I bought mine, and I think had been out for a while at that point.

    • Ergohuman mesh is nicer than Ergotune though

  • Anyone had problems with the wheels on their Ergohuman chairs? The rubber parts of my wheels have somewhat rotted or something and have fallen out of the wheels.

I wouldn't mind getting new wheels for mine if I can.. only had it since Dec 2020 (3.5 years) so not sure if I'd recommend this chair given the situation with my wheels.

  • I have Herman Miller Aeron and Ergohuman Elite v2. I choose to sit on Ergohuman 90% of the time because it's more comfy (leans back more and has an integrated headrest). 8+ years and still going strong, it's built like a tank. Only thing I needed to replace was a gas lift ($80?).

Please note that the Ergohuman V1, V2 and V3 are obsolete models. They are not the Ergohuman 2 which is the new generation of Ergohuman Chairs.

That's one of the dumbest versioning formats I've ever seen.

  • If anyone is still considering this, you can get $600 worth of gift cards from this deal for $540. Just need to convert them all to T&W gift cards, bit tedious.
