    What’s the usual prices?

    • +1

Updated the original post with this, cheers

      • Is there a promo code I need to apply. The original $32 price is coming up for me

        • No promo code, look for the Olympic Special 20GB package instead of the Europe and USA package

  • Are there any sims which last 50-60 days minimum & include Greece, Spain, Germany ?

    • Sure do, there's a Europe and USA 30GB / 60 Days @ $59.74 https://escapesim.com.au/esim/region/europe

      • Are there any options where you get a number as well as data ? I'll need to be able to receive texts.

        • Unfortunately we don't, while we technically could give you a number, the rates are pretty expensive. Other carriers tend to ask for ID verification once you have a phone number as well so we decided against it.

        • +1

This is an eSIM so you can still receive texts through your Aussie SIM. At least I was able to with my boost SIM last year. A local number would be handy though.

      • Do all your esims allow hotspot sharing? Or only certain ones?

Using a Mobile phone Overseas – eSIM, Travel SIM, International Roaming

    • Orange Poland: 1-month | 15.34GB | EU | PLN1 (AU$0.35, refunded if used <2wks) – renewals from 5.76GB | PLN30 (A$10.40) to 15.34GB | PLN80 (A$27.80)
    • -1

that's a great deal, if you want to send your passport away to a foreign country, no verification needed here.

    • Poland is subject to The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) that creates a harmonised set of rules for personal data processing in the European Union (EU), to ensure a high level of protection for personal data and they are extremely strict with it. I personally trust the above regulation way more than any local institution. Australia lacks on peronal data protection vs the EU, especially Poland. Should you wish to have your data deleted, it can be easily arranged and everything you ever shared MUST be gone, unlike the local 7 years rule…

    • It's 18.92 GB in the EU as of 1st of July 2024 for either the first month (1 PLN) or the regular 80 PLN plan.

Shaped to 128kbps, what a joke, pass

    • +1

If you have a 5GB package and use all 5GB, you will be shaped to 128kbps after.

All data included is max speed..

      • Wow, sorry this was for the other Sim deal Lemon, not yours. Not sure what the hell happened there

        • All good :)

      • Does this shaping apply to other sims and countries?

  • Do you happen to have any esim deals for Papua New Guinea? Thanks

    • +1

I don't unfortunately, will put it on the list to implement in the future though

  • +1

Can we know what network provider it will use overseas?

    • +1

If you click on Buy Now for any of the Olympic Specials, then click on Check Available Networks you should see everything, I'd post it here, but it's quite a long list.

      • Thanks. It does give me a list of network providers.

Is it limited to only those providers as there are major providers missing in the list?

Does it mean I will not get network coverage if there is no coverage by those providers in that particular area I am in?

        • +1

That's correct, although it would be pretty rare to not have coverage - most likely some rural areas, you could have a look at the coverage maps of said providers if you look them up.

          • @EscapeSIM: Alright, thanks for the information. That's great to know to make informed decision.

  • Which network does the USA one operate on?

    • Using a Mobile phone Overseas – eSIM, Travel SIM, International Roaming

      • Verizon: eSIM | 30-day | 100GB | Free/$0 trial
      • Visible by Verizon: eSIM | 15-day | Unlimited | Free/$0 trial
      • T-Mobile: eSIM | 3-month | Unlimited | Free/$0 trial
      • @tonester typically those deals are hard to get for anyone outside of the states, but cheers for the link!

    • We use T-Mobile in USA

  • Looks like a great deal for a 30day esim, thank you!

    • Cheers!

  • +1

    anyone got one for Thailand?

    • We don't have as great of a deal for Thailand as this one, but:

      $8.49 for 5GB/30 Days
      $14.49 for 10GB/30 Days
      $26.99 for 20GB/30 Days

    • +1

If you’re flying into BKK just grab a tourist eSIM from the DTAC counter or buy it online, it’s easy and very, very cheap.

      • Flying into Koh Samui, but from memory there are options at the airport there. I looked at DTAC online and they seemed one of the better options, will check out to see if it looks cheaper in country.

  • So with an eSIM you keep your Australian number for receiving calls and texts and the eSIM is for data whilst overseas ?

  • I know you're called "Escape SIM" ('eSIM') ,
but do you have deals with physical SIMs ?

How quickly can you ship a physical SIM in Sydney metro area (NSW 2000) ??

  • Is there an option to top up more data once the data has run out?

    • For these eSIMs there is no topup available, most of our other packages do support it though.

  • Hi Op,

Interested in this esim: Turkey 30GB / VALIDITY 60 Days

I'm travelling in mid August, can you clarify activation window:
Activation: The eSIM needs to be activated within 30 days of purchase. Install the eSIM when you arrive in a supported country, as the validity period starts as soon as the profile is installed.
If I've understood this right, I should be able to buy it now, but install it just before my travel. I should be okay given it will be installed within the 30 days of travel window? Or I'm buying this too early being 45 odd days before travel and it wont work?

Does this eSIM also support hotspot?

    • Hey mate, really sorry for not getting back to you, didn't see this one!

These eSIMs are different and need to be activated within 3 months of purchase, you install this one just before you leave and it won't start ticking over until it connects to the network in Turkey.

Yes it definitely supports hotspot, no issues there!

      • Thank you!

One last question, is there is an app that I'd download and can track usage?

        • Unfortunately we're not there yet with the app, but you can track your usage by logging into our site and checking My Orders

  • @EscapeSIM which company do you use for turkey and greece?

    • You can see the network if you click on Buy Now:
Looking at the Turkey sims, it shows Avea
      Greece shows Wind Greece (Nova)

      • thanks just saw that

  • Hey mate, going to Greece this week. Will this work and is it data only? And does it work all over Greece?

Can i use any apps to call using data only..? Anything else i need to know for a trip? Do i need to roam with optus to use badic

    • +1

Hey mate, yes this will work a treat for Greece, it's data only and will work in all islands that have cell towers!

Yeah generally people use WhatsApp, messenger etc to call, WhatsApp will maintain your Aus number as long as you don't sign out!

Shouldn't be anything else to know, install instructions will be included in the order email and are always available on our site.

Not sure what you mean by the Optus part though? You can keep your Optus SIM for SMS and calls but keep data off for it. I'd keep it off and just use data messaging apps though, better than seeing Amazon gift card scam messages everyday :D

      • Hey Op - can you answer my question above please?

  • Hey, I’m heading to Europe in August. Can you install the eSIM before landing in Europe?

    • Hey there, unfortunately these eSIMs need to be installed in country, or just before you leave, the reason being that the validity period starts ticking over once it's installed on a device.

      • Can you install the esim in Australia or it has to be in the destination country? As it needs to have good WiFi connection, as stated: Make sure you have a good WiFi connection, preferably not a satellite connection (found on ships or airplanes) nor free WiFis (like cafes or airports), as these might not work.

I only need it for two weeks.

        • Hey, you can definitely install it before you leave the country - if you only need it for two weeks then that's definitely within the 30 days.

  • awesome deal! esimdb.com is also a great resource for this type of comparison

  • No Unlimited data deals?

    • +1

We don't usually pick up the 'unlimited' deals as they are generally daily limits of 1 - 2GB and then throttle the users bandwidth which in our opinion is a poor experience.

  • Do these route through China?
The Activation code includes the domain …eastcompeace.com which is a Chinese "company/CCP front?".

    • Lmao I would gladly give my info over the to 'CCP' if it meant global parasite corporations didn't get it.

    • +1

No they use Poland as the internet out, they are purchased through a Chinese company which is how we get such a great deal

  • One thing to be wary of with these cheap esims are the lack of phone number and in which country is the issuing operator.

This matters because all of your data will be routed via that country (in the same way as a VPN works). That will obviously introduce extra latency in the first instance, but there are further implications:

Right now I'm in Thailand with a cheap eSIM that evidently originates in Hong Kong, and as a result of that all Google services are painfully slow (whether that's Google's fault or the CCPs I have no idea, but it's annoying AF)

One time in Italy I was blocked from accessing various local sites/apps because my SIM was showing a non-Italian IP address.

Lack of phone number also quite annoying when you want to call restaurants or receives texts to activate local scooter/rideshare services etc.

All of these can be worked around with VPN etc, but just something to be aware of.

    • One thing to be wary of with these cheap esims are the lack of phone number and in which country is the issuing operator.

this wiki includes e/sims with phone numbers unless otherwise stated, also has networks/providers used:

    • These eSIMs use internet out from Poland and are not subject to the filtering that those HK eSIMs are, so the latency is not an issue and as for a number it's a little annoying the first time sure, but phone numbers generally need identification documents attached for good reason.

  • @EscapeSIM, which network do you use for this deal in France, Germany and Italy? Thanks

    • Hi,

      France
      Bouygues France
      Orange France
      SFR France

      Germany
      Vodafone Germany
      O2 Germany
      T-Mobile Germany

      Italy
      Vodafone Italy
      Wind Italy

You can find all of the networks for each country by clicking on the buy now button of the package.

      Hope this helps!

  • Just bought a 20gb esim for my wife and I. Will be leaving in 3 weeks for UK and all Europe. The email with the QR code says to install and active upon arriving in country but can I do it before we leave ?

    • Hey there, so this special will start the validity period upon installing the eSIM, totally up to you here but to maximise the length you should install it once you get there.

      Cheers

  • +1

If you are travelling via UK and plan to spend decent amount of time there, then buying a local sim in UK upon arrival like lyca mobile turned out to be a better deal for us. We just got UK mega plus for 10 GBP ($19 AUD) which gives us:
    * 100 GB data and unlimited talk time plan in UK
    * While roaming in EU, talk time is limited to 100 mins and data is capped at 12 GB.
There are cheaper options available too like this one which is just 5 GBP but looks same from EU roaming perspective. It also depends on how much time you plan to spend within, outside UK and your specific requirement.
Please check out local sim providers plan options in the country of your first arrival. You may find a better deal especially if you need both talk time plus data.

  • Hi, is the compatible devices list up to date?
Was hoping to use this deal with a google pixel 8 but I can't see it on the list. Can you confirm if the pixel 8 is supported?

    • Hey mate sorry for the late reply, this notification never come through for some reason..

Yes the Pixel 8 is supported for eSIM and yes I have just updated my info!

      Cheers!

  • @EscapeSIM What is the provider of the e-sim? Thank you.

    • Hey,

There's a different operator in every country, you can check out which one is used in every country by clicking on the buy now button and then click view available networks, I'd post it here but it's a decent sized list!

      • Thank you for your response, however I wanted to know who's the provider of the actual service, rather than what operator I connect to in each country. There must be a particular network that runs the service for you. Thanks

        • +1

          shooting you a PM.

          • @EscapeSIM: Just shot you a pm..Having trouble activating an esim on a phone

  • Hi @EscapeSIM

I have tried to lodge a help ticket on your website (troubleshooting, open a ticket/ask question, no order number, what is the issue)

On this page, none of the buttons work, so I cannot proceed to the next page. I have tried with 3 different browsers and extensions off etc, so I think it's a problem with your site…

    • Thanks for bringing this to my attention, you can always contact us without an order number here.

      Will get this fixed ASAP.

      https://escapesim.com.au/contact-us

      • Ok thanks

As the answers may be helpful to others:

        For the Balkans eSIMs

        1. What happens when you finish the prepaid amount (eg 3GB) ? Does the connection cease working until you have topped up, or does it continue at a capped speed ?

        2. What country is the internet out for these sims ?

        • Too easy,

          1. The connection will cease working with the Balkans plans until it has been topped up, the only plans that continue at 128kbps are some of the Asian plans and the Olympic specials.

          2. The internet breakout is in Poland for the Balkans plans.

          Hope this helps!
